  1. Always keep a spoon on deck. Then you'll know when to pitch it.
  2. I like the KISS principle.
  3. Thanks for the report. How far up the James did you get?
  4. A bait caster! That is awesome. That cut on the north side of kimberling bridge closest to 13 boat dock isn't a bad place to fish.
  5. Just up white past point 9 fiddling about.
  6. No fortune on the franken-plopper today. But in its defense there wasn't a surface bite for me today on any of the usual cuisine offerings. Surface temp just up white was 74-75. Nice southerly breeze. Only 2 shorts on jig, 5-10 fow.
  7. Seen a video on how to rig two in series. Have managed to set it up. FF was out of the butt color. I've got the smaller in front of the larger. Will see how it works. Stay tuned.
  8. "A bass in every live well."
  9. I like the skipper
  10. Nice to see the SM active.
  11. There you go. A beginning dock bite to me is pitching spoons.....without pounding someone's property. David did you go last Wednesday?
  12. Way to go on paying it forward. I never would've thought that seat could float as probaly so did the owner. Different thought. Ranger could begin marketing that in addition to the positive floatation ads.
  13. I suppose the kids need to earn the ability to fish out of a glass sled? Age 10, slip on a pair of wet tennis shoes with gravel in them to help run a trotline at 0200. Seine bait in the dark, bubbles running up the jeans. Tie drop lines on the main line without terminal tackle. Guide others down the river with an old paddle and 3 horse lightwin. Learn how to skin pelts leaving the lashes, nose and ears intact. Earned skills? Right of passage? I didn't know it was redneck before it was called redneck. It was what we did. Times have changed. I'm in the process of teaching my youngest son how to operate and behave in a bass boat. Not a wooden float boat. He has the desire to learn, and I'm going to educate him. These boats are dangerous and I'm teaching him safety first. We take it for granted what we have. It's better to have them in a boat than running off chasing negative goals.
  14. Appears it may be effective on a regular grub head. Just what I needed. Another bag of plastic in the boat may be one bag too many.
  15. TY Champ 188.
  16. Kimberly Acup upholstery just south of the intersection of 160 and EE at Highlandville, MO Professional work. She repaired a section of my passenger seat after my son left a spot light on it. Llebroc was not helpful at identifying the colored vinyl that they made the seat out of. Kimberly utilized the existing material and replaced the damaged material. Very skilled and resourceful. Top notch work.
  17. Last time I had seen WP out of cape fair was in the spring a few months after the govna's decree was in place. Pair of MHP launching an aluminum. I was curious as to what they planned on doing with their jet powered sled and not the large glass boat they keep moored. So I asked them. They said that they were going up the James (Asher's) to check for permits (white bass run). I mentioned that they could've been closer and launched at Bridgeport. A moment of awkward silence between them. They then said that they wanted to check the area out from here on up. I thought okay what ev. Taxpayers flipping the fuel bill. As much as one would think that more laws will help more. They always seem to effect the people that play by the rules anyway. We have trailer laws, yet everyday I see trailers without tags, no lights or some egghead hauling gravel on a flat bed. More restrictive boating laws won't help if they don't enforce the ones we have.

  19. If you're local as in Springfield area. Stop in at Fin & Feather shop on Campbell just north of battlefield and Campbell street across from incredible pizza. Ask John the same question. I believe he's running a sale on poles and might possibly cut you a deal on a Lews wide spool reel. Knowledgable staff, friendly and keeping the business local. And they have Ned jig heads.
  20. Nice outing. That area is a good choke point.
  21. Wear your vest at all times.
  22. Fishers of men. Scheduled 12 boat T
  23. Dave that one that pulled free looked better than 3.5......
  24. Before I leave the no wake. I will let a good amount of weightless line on my spinning pole of any setup that I may suspect of twist. I'll let it drag behind as I idle away. Spool it up under load and retie. I never allow the bail to flip over from the handle, always manual. I'll even go one further. I exclusively use spinning for JB. Drag hasn't been an issue. Have caught several pigs on this setup. But, use whatever your comfort level is.
