    Idiots

Obviously they never took a boater saftey class......maybe a obliviois class. Morons abound. Glad you had fun though Duck.
  2. 5,135 views....wow.....somebody is following this thread. Always need to think twice before clicking "post"
  3. My boat has been paid off for 10 years and I still carry insurance on the vessel and carry substantial liability coverage. You would be crazy not to at least carry liabilty. It should be a law to have insurance, just like on vehicles. I do not mean to hijack this thread. I Wish I was able to help out with the warrior outing.
  4. Why would that cut down on turnout. Is there that many guys out ther running around on these lakes with no insurance? If that in fact is the case, that's a scarey situation....IMHO!
  5. Leaving tomorrow morning to come down for a couple of weeks. Sounds like the timing may be good!
  6. So.......after reading all of this......should I buy some or not. Coming down the last 2 weeks of september.
  7. Florocarbon on your baitcasters, but I would' nt use it on a spinning reel. Mono ( or braid with a floro leader) on your spinning reels. Brands.......how many are there now.......l've lost count.
  8. You could have just let him in the boat, handed him a rod and had a fishing buddy for the rest of the day,
  9. Wife and I are coming down 17th to 27th of september. Would be nice to run into some of you folks. I guess we'll have to look for ozark angler stickers.
  10. Had a guy flag me down way up the James around point 12. Dead in the water. He had a dead starting battery. I carry jumper cables in my boat, hooked him up and got him going. Told him not to stop till he got back to his dock. I've used those jumpers more than once. I'm always happy to help someone.
  11. Here we go again. Lets add politics and religon to this thread and watch it really take off. LOL . I'm coming down for two weeks in the middle of september. I sure hope it all calms down by the time I get there! ( This is why I prefer to come down after labor day)
  12. Is anyone out there running fish finders with CHIRP. Looking for some feedback. Thanks.
  13. I usually come down to the rock for 10 days to two weeks every year. So sometimes I dont have a choice but to go out on a saturday or a sunday. Cant stand to waste a day when Im on limited time anyway. I do however like to came down in oct or sept when the crowds thin out.
  14. So.......guess nobody really knows. Our best is a 6-1 my son caught last august up the James.
  15. Just got my new issue of in-fisherman. Theres an article on record bass. I know some of you locals down there know what the record bass to come out of TR is. I would be interested to know what that might be. I'm guessing it was several years ago. Thanks.
  16. I stay at the Hide-a-Away resort up on the James River Arm. Quiet up that way. Nice dock and accomodations. Right next to the hideaway marina. Its a little far from town but I like it up there.
  17. Thanks, I have all my usual walleye weapons, but I'm gonna try the regular rig with half a zinker and see how those rascally devils like it. I will report back on my results. Will be down to the rock for two weeks in august.
  18. I know the virtues of the ned on the rock, but I'm going to an outpost camp in canada for walleye next week. ( sorry , no bass there). How do you all think the ned would work in that situation. I' ve got a mess of them in my tackle box......Thanks.
  19. I experienced the same problem with nanofil. I finally found I had a problem with a chipped ceramic guide you could'nt even see witth the naked eye. Could feel it with my fingernail though. It cut my line. I replaced the guide and had no more problems. Worth checking out. I like maxima and nanofil, depends what I'm doing. Not much of a floro fan.
  20. Boats a hole in the water you pour money into. Trailer is just bad. As long as I dont tell the wife how much money I blow on those two things Im usually good to go! Just did trailer brakes two years ago. Ouch
  21. EYE, CHECK YOUR MESSAGES.
  22. Has anybody tried Ek River Jigs made in Grove, Okla. Their web site looks like they have a pretty versitile selection. I was thinking about ordering some and wondered if anyone has had experience with these. THANKS!
  23. I've been a member of this forum for 4 years. I read it almost daily even though I'm not local. I have vacationed on the rock for 30 years. I've learned tons here. Thank you to all. How about we have a new rule, no dissing people, no religion and no politics and stick to fishing. Tight lines to all! Happy spring!
