I doubt that Social Security will collapse. Whatever political party that is in charge if it happened would be wiped out. And they ain't gonna let their power go without a fight.
Pomme can be very good in spring but cold fronts and lake levels can also make it sketchy. Fall is fabulous, crappie, whites etc are attacking with reckless abandon. I am no longer tough enough to do the hot summer or mid winter chases.
LOL. I grew up wade fishing little creeks. All I would carry for lures was a couple Mepps and a few beetle spin type spinners, nothing more than a #2 or #3 off set spinner and a jig with whatever color I wanted that day. I once had a plan to become rich by selling squirrel tails to Mepps, I thi k every kid had that plan back then.
I use braid on everything but I also use a mono leader haven't had much luck with the braid lasting through rocks and sticks. Now usually use a #5 for that slower thump thump some days white bass just can't help but attack it even if they don't want too.
Pomme has been feast or famine for folks. Ones who fish it a lot or know the patterns have hammered them all summer. Others are struggling. Seems same on Truman. Follow the Pomme de Terre Lake fishing page, usually they provide enough information to know where to start.
Thanks FW I will try that. I don't use my old meeps as much anymore but the amount of twist can be annoying.
Overall I seldom would have need for a snap swivels, just the aforementioned in lines and the occasional trolling foray.
OK when i was a kid I was taught to tie everything direct, occasionally over the years I have dabbled with snap swivels, mostly to eliminateine twist with crankbaits when trolling or in line spinners like Mepps. Is there a time and place to use snap swivels? Such as not with a split ring on the lure or only with a split ring? I bought some today thinking using them when burning rattle traps for white bass or my beloved Mepps spinners.
Was at Ruark yesterday for a few hours trolling for walleye. White bass went nuts about daylight, not big ones but there was a lot. Walleye didn't cooperate though.
My kids are great, but I am that old curmudgeon who will NOT call them for help yet. I will either get it done or not do it. Some things just aren't as important as they once were. I am willing to help my kids as needed if I can, with whatever I can. Perfect world would be my last dollar goes to cremate
me.
Some places are worse than others. Part of the reason I quit fishing below Truman Dam was because of all the heavy catfish line in the water. Still hit it in other places like Stockton but sometimes I pull up a Smithwick Rogue. What is the worst is when you can see the line that has snagged you but can't quite get there to it. Has resulted in more than one boot full of cold cold early April lake water.
Hmm, never seen an email like that before. Wonder how they got their list of who to send it to. I have been checking my email since I used it when buying an AR license on line, haven't received anything yet.
Hell I hope my wife picks me an older Amish woman to take care of me. I would eat well, and without a doubt she would be tougher than me so no funny business. But I bet she could weed eat, clean fish, and scare off salesmen.
Many years ago I bought a little bag of dried grass shrimp for bait. Wasn't catching anything so heck shrimp are good right. Not them things, about the second or third chew the flavor hit. I couldn't spit them quick enough and couldn't spit the after taste out for hours.
