    Bears!

I have a yard dog that I don't really care of it gets eaten by a bear. Surely it could make enough noise getting eaten that I would have some warning. Always expect to have one tearing up apple trees etc. But so far not yet.

    What's Cooking?

My wife said in honor of Father's Day I could pick something out to smoke. I was thinking a nice Davidoff cigar, she was thinking some chicken! So we compromised and and went with with the chicken. No cigar, but I might be able to sneak over and drink a cold beer under the pretense of checking on he smoker, which coincidentally is close to the pool, seems like it will still work out.
  3. I will play along with the semi-serious note for a moment. Let's say on Table Rock a study was conducted by a university and determined that the safe carrying capacity was 10,000 boats per day. OK, how many stalls are in private docks, resorts and marinas docks? How many left for other folks to launch and use? Suppose we could know exactly how many boats wod be the safe levwl, how would it b controlled, send cops to every ramp to stop any more people from launching, stop issuing dock permits? There is no question that boat traffic affects other users, has for years. LOZ, Table Rock and others, fishing weekdays, early/late and earl/late season. Unless some legislature actually imolemen's some sort of size/type/horsepower restrictions and has a way to actually enforce it, nothing is going to happen. And nobody is going to implement anything of the sort in my lifetime on the major lakes.
  4. I say instead we ban people from being on he bank around the lake. No camping, no swimming, dang sure no homes. That way nobody would be disturbed.
  5. Spawning bluegill, a cheap fly rod and wading shoes. Some of my best memories.
  6. Cool, my olinator patch did nothing this year. And sadly the Japanese beetles are beginning to show up, don't see them on trees yet, but if the filter basket on my pool is any indicator they are here and getting more numerous. Gonna be a malthion summer looks like.
  7. From Roaring River by Cassville? That would be quite a trip to Branson or Bull Shoals from there.
  8. What who even remotely said that.
  9. I would think it more likely to have a grass carp in a ditch after flooding, but heck anymore I wouldn't be surprised if it were a pacu eating a piranah, inside a caiman that was found.
  10. LOL, must be talking about the gentlemen part!
  11. Very nice bluegill gentlemen.
  12. Amy visable red sores on them?
  13. Wow, that is a cool/different catch for sure.
  14. Nope, that WAS the point. I don't give a rats behind about tournaments personally but those who act like tournaments are OK, but what merc1997 does is bad, well that is silly. Zero difference. While I can see that relocating thousands of fish a month can have a short term effect, the reality is that if it were that big a deal then all tournaments would be won within sight of a launch ramp. So while merc1997s efforts show that relocated fish will take up residence at a new location to term it as illegal or wrong is silly. As for dead fish at a weigh in site, that is bad regardless of who puts it on or what sponsors are supporting it. Don't mind fish being eaten but hate to see them wasted.
  15. So am I correct here? Someone we know and fully believe to be a good fisherman who takes very good care of fish he legally catches and simply happens to transport to another part of the lake before releasing, and somehow some are upset? I guess I don't get it? Never met merc1997 before and am unlikely to, but he does provide some good info for folks who fish TR. If here were filleting the smallies I would say it's his right to even if I don't like it. But literally the only thing happening here is relocating some fish to another part of the same lake, goodness his happens every day as folks catch a few and haul them around before showing wife/girlfriend/kids and then releasing them.
  16. Imagine if you will the massive series of little lights around if that were the case. There would be enough that nobody would pay attention to them. Sort of like back up alarms in a busy construction area.
  17. Prayers still going for all of you.
  18. Good video, I was picturing it disappearing into an underground cavern, but looks like it is simply shooting out below after wearing though a thin rock layer. I can see where that would be bad for a swimmer.
  19. Curious as to how exactly it caused an accident. Just professional curiosity I guess. Don't know that there is much if anything that can be done to plug it. Hope to see more information on what they do.
  20. Dang, hope it's a sterile one of a kind deal. Unlikely though.
  21. Did you arrow it yourself? If not Since I know nothing of the origin of the photo I am going to be suspicious of it being from Bull Shoals. Certainly hope it's not at least.
  22. The only rule that requires you keep a legal caught fish is spoonbill snagging, unless that has changed. Otherwise as long as it is a legal fish, taken in a legal manner then you can haul it around the lake all you want and decide to keep, release or give to someone else. Those fish still technically count toward your daily limit but since you are quitting for the day that doesn't really apply. At least that is how I read the rules.
  23. Personally I would move up to at least a 14 ft or 16 ft boat and get a trailer. 10 HP motor or so. A bigger boat will displace water more and float in shallow wate quite well. Shallow sections that it can't run require you to get out and pull it through. Keep an extra prop and feed it ethanol free gas. Oh and definitely a 2 stroke motor.
  24. Or maybe not run a dark lake at night might be another option.
  25. You can and likely will catch just about any and everything with that rig. Including walleye, catfish, even drum.
