Mary, Mary quite contrary How does your "Victory" garden grow?
MOPanfisher replied to N9BOW's topic in Gardening
Well I have embarked on a new type of gardening sick regular garden is out for now. The old garden got a good dose of roundup about a week ago, this morning I went looking for old seeds, found my stash of heirloom canteloupes, and several packages of last year's seeds for little yellow squash and cucumbers. So I wouldn't call it rows but I did string a ouole rows worth of seed in what would loosely be described as a row, and then rolled them into the wet grind with my mower. I have don't similar before with some left over seeds and had some success with it, haven't got much to lose and the jungle garden is planted. Will have a few more hills of actual planned and planted squash but by the time they are ready to plant I hope to have at least 1.5 arms useable maybe even 2! Also used the rest of the letruce seed around the mineral tubs and some dill weed behind them. Again I have nothing to lose except some seed. The only thing I am totally unwilling to give up on is my strawberries and they are blooming well, if necessary I will lay amongst them to pull weeds, usually don't have an issue fidig helpers to pick them, they are older variety I have had for 25 years, replanting every few years. They don't keep well or travel well but doggone it they are tasty. Besides by the time they are ripe I should be able to have my grandson back to help pick/eat them. We shall see what happens with the rest. -
Not untrue, but very sad.
-
Well they might not be this year's catch, but that's OK, sadly local DG didn't have any cornmeal so had to make do with corn muffin mix. Fried taters and wilted salad. At least it tastes like April.

Unless it has been reopened in the last few hours, Pomme was shut down this morning due to downstream conditions. Have caught tons of crappie in 5he Sapp Landing area, Frisco access area, Avery, and from Fairfield. I will tell you if you launch at Fairfield and stay too late it gets really dark up stream, but it also does if you launch at Fristoe, Avery or Sapps, no lights. The benefit around Fairfield is there are a few spots that routinely give up some of the delicious golden toothy ones.

I had to do the one up when I was deployed to New Olean after Katrina, think I got 4 that time and a couple more later. Joplin I got a tetanus booster just because, and after my transplant I got 7 shots the same morning and the procedure had wiped out all vaccinations. Was so happy to be leaving and going home, I didn't care if they had given me 17 more. Since then needles and IVs are just another day, NEVER let a Dr. Give you a shot, always look for the older nurse, or even just a cute nurse, Drs well it just isn't their strong suit. And some of the ones that do "sticks" all day long are so good and smooth you hardly feel it, I like them!

Pomme is good, or at least it was until rain last night. Shoot me a message when you are ready to go to Truman and I will mark a few spots on a map for ya.

I tried to fix a bad plug under the back of my truck that causes all the lights at the back end to not work. Have fixed it before, but I did make it down on the ground and tried for about a minute, said nope it will just have to wait, I also fone out I can stI'll drive my lite Camry, just have to reach across and a shift left handed, ain't pretry and I wouldn't want to take it to KC but I can do it. Got a call yesterday at 11 that did be in spfld for CT scan at 1315, didnt have anyone to stay with mom. Called a friend who has been wanting to help some way and let him haul me to the appointment, friends are a good thing to have. And possibly later today I am gping to see if I can use tractor to raise land mower and use impact driver to remove blades, THEN see if I can sharpen them, I am not good at giving up LOL. Tried to go fishing last night but ran out of energy by the time I got stuff ready, should have gone anyway crappie were hammering it for about everyone. Oh well I will get my shot at them eventually.
-
Well, last night probably knocked things back a little. From Fairfield area the options for crappie fishing are tremendous. Up stream, past bridge, bear left into coves and work them over, if no good, move on up and work the main creek channel bluffs near the power lines.
-
This, I am truly hoping to have someone I can vote for and actually support rather than voting against the other. It is truly embarrassing what we have given ourselves for options.
-
OK

On a positive note, I had to make a speed run to speed run to spfld to get a shuld er CT scan, was starving by about 1430 or so, pulled into McDonalds for a quarter pounder and fries fix, had smoking hot food and fine in only a few minutes, not the best food in the world but always tastes the same and was craving it.

If I can get a clear shot at the COVID 19 I am gonna put a bullet into it,,semi auto since I don't have, need or want the Class III stuff. Anybody know what the virus might look like so i know when I see it to shoot it. Hate to accidentally blast a friendly bacterium instead.
-
As I said semi automatics were not issued, they were select fire weapons. You are paritually correct in that none were killed by an "AR", however every version of the M16 and M4 is nothing more than modified AR platform. Modified to be shorter, different internals to allow select fire etc, shoot cleaner, shoot longer bullets etc.. Swap out those internals and they are the same basic thing available right now at Bass Pro, different brand name etc, but essentially the same none th less. My father would have laughed at the M16 and AR's he spent too much time putting his life on the line with a Springfield or a Garand. However I suspect he would have enjoyed shooting and AR. I fully agree about people who want ro make a point by wearing a AR into a store or where ever, simply stupid, but that is my philosophy on it and others mileage will most certainly vary.
-
Well considering the options, if they were the same I would do it again as well but it wouldn't be on my list of fun things and would definitely prefer to take my chances with COVID instead. Hell who knows what simple fixes might be found, a good injection of ketchup mixed with pancake syrup, or whatever followed by a 10 minute low voltage dosage. We have all set around campfires or kitchen tables and tossed out bizarre ideas such as that before without actually believing we are concocting a cure for whatever.
-
I was gonna tear that apart, but can't really find any fault, might toss is Jack Bauer too, when all said and done with that crew probably no chips needed, well no microchips anyway.

I do apologize. For misspelling yourhandle, digits are a little shaky somedays But right now the sun is up, turks are talking and it's a BEAUTIFUL day in the Ozarks. Everybody be safe and enjoy the day.

😆😆 Well Fishinn Wrench has some strange leanings but I aint skeered, maybe a little. 😆

Phil, I don't think there is anybody on OA I wouldn't trust my back too. We all have our thoughts, pet peeves, just we used to argue thwm.over a few beers and fried fish in the pre social media days. Lots of us get too worked up, heck I don't even take myself seriously all the time anymore.
-
M4 is nothing more than an AR with select fire option usually shorter barrel. There was never an AR 15 semi issued for general combat that I am aware of, think there were some issued to Air Force security possibly. And there have been some speciality types based on the AR 10 in.308/7.62 Nato used for as well I belive. M16 had some issues for sure early on, but the ammo and reliability are decades ahead of that now.
-
Well they say everything has a silver lining, so far other than a much better appreciation for life, nature, friends etc. I am not sure, although I have met some of the greatest people in the world who work in the clinics and hospitals, and some darn cool folks who are patients as well.
-
You guys keep up with the grits and I will have to brave the unwashed masses to get some. I used to make sausages and kraut a lot, also used to use what my kids called poofy dogs. Some hot dogs on a string that appeared to be wrapped in red latex baloons. Were tasty though.
-
And they gave me a shot a few years ago that may well have been able to "cleanse" the virus out, killed all rapidly reproducing cells in my body, was nly viable for 30 minutes after it was mixed and had to be infused immediately. On the whole I will take my chances with COVID 19 rather than do that one again.

Nano Particles or nanovites maybe, o forgot the moview now, cures you and makes you stronger, or maybe a zombie I don't remember, probably combining multiple movies. Or maybe it's more like Snake BlisKen with an explosive charge they can detonate if I go rouge.
