  1. Yeah, they appear to be thick in some areas and not so thick in others areas. I didn't see a single one hit the water but the fish were look up anyway.
  2. Great report,
  3. Yeah but the beer was cold and the company was good.
  4. Handsome devils aren't they.
  5. Yes, so many fond memories and a safe place to park.
  6. I always thought the best way to hold a goat was to wear hip waders and slip the hind legs down in them.
  7. Welcome to the forum momule, We don't hear much about fishing the Missouri River. I'm look forward to gaining some understanding about the big river in my back yard that I have hardly fished.
  8. That's something I have never seen, good going.
  9. That was my experience as well. A day and a half spent fishing a sweet river brought only marginal results. I didnt see any sign of bedding but most of the fish were built like footballs and had plump bellies. The trip reminded me why I like the predictable nature of summer Smallmouth.
  10. I was tossed out of my boat Saturday when the pedestal mount for my seat failed without warning. Expect the unexpected.
  11. This weekend is the first overnighter of the season, I'm getting pretty excited.
  12. Sure enough,
  13. That's a honker!
  14. That must of been a lot of fun. I'd be willing to bet you were alone when you caught those.
  15. Most of my choices would be similar to Ness's, 60's and 70's sitcoms. Some time in the mid 80's the tv went out the door and I'll never let it back in.
  16. I have been using a Penobscot 16 as a solo for a couple of years, it not as nimble as my old Mohawk solo but works well enough. Many of my trips are overnighters so it's great to have room for coolers, lawn chairs and a BBQ grill.
  17. Holy poop!
  18. Welcome to the forum. The upper river can get very low, habitat is often poor, fishing can be cyclical, poor some years a little better others.
  19. Good going, catching fish where others think there are no fish, fishing when others are staying warm at home, that's impressive.
  20. Thanks for all your hard work, you guy's are fighting the good fight.
  21. A bottle opener. I have never forgotten these wise words: Once ... in the wilds of Afghanistan, I lost my corkscrew, and we were forced to live on nothing but food and water for days. -- W. C. Fields, "My Little Chickadee"
  22. "Then why do they care?" It's the same mentality the ranchers in Wyoming have. I have seen owners or ranch hands piss away hours following two dudes in rafts down the river, phone in one hand camera in the other just waiting for us to get out to take a pee or stretch. You would think they would have something better to do, they don't. They look at us like an invading force coming to steal their cow pies. The militarized section of the Osage fork has been on my long list on destinations. Mr, Empire Ranch may think he owns the river but he owns it no more than he owns the air above is little kingdom.
