  1. Tracy is tuff stick when it comes to the night time game and I have heard plenty of tales of him catching fish with you and Vince Eastwood. Me and Vince fished the tourney together.
  2. Thanks Bo, I will give them a look see. About struggling at night me and a buddy fished the Alpena FFA last saturday and had 3 solid keepers for just under 9lbs and only a handful of short fish. 18lbs won it with a 4.99 big bass. One more good bit and we would have made the money. We fished bluffends and bluff banks to find our better fish and the bite was in 20-25ft off of the second ledge timber was present also.
  3. BO is there a website available to look at your jigs?
  4. Look at the shine on those seats WOW!
  5. Definitely a shooter in these parts. Nice photos.
  6. If they would make that in the ghost craw or natural craw that they make in the series five cranks it would catch plenty of fish during the wiggle wart season. Don't know if it will catch big stringers that the warts produce during that time.
  7. Fished the Joe Bass this past Saturday, and took 5th place with three chances to upgrade throughout the day and never stuck a hook in them. We had 13.55 and all were carbon copies nothing over 3lbs all solid keepers. 18lbs won it. Matt Jones and his partner now have made it three in a row. We caught 10 keepers and several shorts throughout the day. Fishing a jig in 15-25 ft. Fished from KC to Cow Creek.
  8. Kings River is spoty, with some sections of the river muddy and some with a good green color. Getting bites in either color of water, just switch it up during the day for example green water=topwater or buzzbait in the dirty water the fish are holding very tight to cover in the mud if you can't get a bite on top use a texas rig, jig, spinnerbait, crankbait and get thos fish to react, don't really know much about the night deal.
  9. Mid and Deep diving plugs will do very well at times when we can't get bit on a spinnerbait. I think somtimes when they hear the vibration they won't bother with it unless it bounces off the trees or the bottom. We work our cranks faster and use stop and go retrieves alot more often especially around trees. You will be suprised how much junk you can walk those cranks through. Other than that we use alot of big soft plastic and jigs with certain size trailers and actions.
  10. Its a terrible thing, especially when children are involved.
  11. If it is a co-polymer, P-line is the only line that I am familiar with. Thanks, for input. I know several night guys who use clear blue under a black light and others don't like to use a black light. Everyone has their preferences.
  12. Speaking of rude people. Had a buddy fishing the KVD, and he pulled up to his starting spot before they texted to start fishing and about 5 minutes before the texts were sent out he had 5 other boats pull right up on him. He said they pulled up to within 20ft. Not even 50 yards. He was pissed off!!
  13. Jason, do you loose sensitivity with that 20lb line or do you use florocarbon or braid? Don't know if you guys are old school and use Stren Clear Blue Flourescent under a black light? Curious?
  14. Gone to Texas and Florida for them suckers. Caught a 10plus with stable warm weather on Fork, went to the Big O in Florida before a cool front and jacked them in mats on black and blue jig. Seen both sides good and bad. I wonder if stocking those fish they would stay shallow or grow accustomed to our deep lake and move deep throughout the year.
  15. Unfortunately, due to the wife expecting our second child we missed this years event. When they have had it May it is always around our Anniversary and luckily my wife allows me to fish it and I convince her to come along and fish it with me. Planning on it next year. How was the winning fish caught did anyone hear?
  16. Is the show time on 5/24 at 11pm or am?
  17. 7 lbs nothing over wins the tourney, but will it be caught on a bed or just fishing?
  18. Heck no on the Florida Strain, keep those temper mental fish where it is always warm.
  19. If these guys fish just for this tournament and they are fourtunate to spend several days on the water leading up to the event then they could very well have caught what they have caught. I know the guy who won the KVD in march a couple of years ago and me and few club buddies asked him to fish some club tournaments with us and he told us for the 4 months that we asked him no I am putting all of my fishing time for the KVD. I can understand the attitude towards getting your butt kicked by the same anglers but IF they are putting their time in several weeks leading up to the tournament then I can see it being possible for them being successful. Time on the water is essential.
  20. The key has been steady wind, I am fishing in 20ft of water. When I catch one I catch a couple in the same area. I never notice any activity on the graph. I am using the swiming fluke 5in, the water is clear enough anything that looks natural is working.
  21. We were on that point in the morning while the fog was still on the water that was where we had our fun on the popper. We were in the red sprint that drove past you in Big Indian after the fog lifted. We met that ranger later in the day but it wasn't us that he did that to.
  22. Went night fishing with dad on his birthday up the Kings. Put the boat in the water at 6:00pm and by 6:30 already had a limit of blacks all post-spawn and schooling in on shad in pockets. Fished around some docks and caught several blacks and kentuckies before the sun went down. Fish before dark were caught on cranks and topwater walkers. Night set in and fished around some boat docks with jigs and plastics and went to work on them. Threw right on the bank and let it set there and the fish would pick it up and start walking off. Caught 7 more keepers along with a bunch of ridgerunners. All hungry blacks. Great night on the water, nothing big but all were solid 2-3 lb fish. Kept the boat in 15ft-20ft. Fishing all secondary points with scattered timber and chunck rock. Next day fished out of baxter from 7-345. Headed up Big Indian and started on a point in the fog and started catching topwater fish on a popper. All were kentuckies 13-14inches. They would show themselves first and we would throw over them and they would nail it. Moved out even deeper and pegged an 16 1/2 football kentucky on the popper. By then the sun broke thru the fog and made a move further up the creek and saw a couple of boats in some pockets I wanted to check out. Quickly turned around and believe I saw Mr. Babler with a boatload of clients fishing off of some points and as I was driving by saw them catching fish. Went out and back up Little Indian and proceeded to catch 9 solid keepers with one around 4lbs. Had the T-Rock slam in those nine keepers once the wind picked up throughout the day throwing a swimbait. Caught alot of fish and had lots of fun. Kept the boat in 15-25ft. Fished all secondary points as well, scattered timber/stumps on a slightly steeper banks than flat gravel banks.
  23. Is the night bite better from 2am-sunrise right now? Just curious. Haven't had great luck from sunset-1am.
  24. Caught 40 plus fish, with only 3 solid keepers. Morning, tried to pull a fish up to eat a spook in a couple pockets and had one fish roll on top of it and chase away from a bed we couldn't see. Threw a senko in and around where the fish came from and never got a bit. Stayed with the spook until the sun was up to high trying to trick a big one. Headed towards baxter and pulled out a shakeyhead and started catching 14 1/2 inch males until I was sick of that. Finally the wind picked up and pulled out a squarebill in a perch color and started having more fun with the ridge runners. Scratching my head at this point wondering where in the world could I find a keeper. Headed to the mouth of a creek and the wind was hitting just right on some points, and pulled out a spinnerbait, and caught our 3 keepers within 10 minutes, let the wind push us around and had another one just flat knock slack in my line and pulled and all I had on my trailer hook was a very good sized bass scale. Our 3 keepers weighed, 8 and change. 18lbs won it, with last place check at a smidge over 10lbs. Saw alot beds with males on them where we were. Talked to some buddies that found a couple pockets with big females laying everywhere, naturally they didn't say where. They broke down on there way back and 4 very fat fish they caught sightfishing. If this weather system wouldn't be coming through it would be flat crazy what people would catching in the next weeks. Get out there, you can catch them on anything you want.
