  1. Proves once again that the mind is a terrible thing...........
  2. Well, that settles that I guess. Back to the golf course for the next three weeks.
  3. There's a "No Thanks" type link at the bottom that will bypass the login.
  4. As if I'm a threat to catch anything off of anybody's spots in the first place! But you're right - rubber snakes (or otherwise) would do it!
  5. For the love of God, please don't use Vernon and "snakes" in the same sentence! I almost didn't even reopen this post to see what you said as it is!
  6. If you must know Mr. Smarty Pants, my identity is fluid. You know, as in ever changing? You'll never pigeon hole me by treating me like I'm a normal person or something bizarre like that! No sir, not me and my ever evolving self.....
  7. You guys are embarrassing yourselves. Any self respecting liberal would immediately identify that entire ensemble as non gender specific. Which I've pretty much been for four or five years now.........
  8. Now that is just WRONG. I might expect that from some of the lower class name callin' OA members (Ankeenan, Duke Lovin' Dave) and a few of the other soon to identify themselves cause they just can't resist haters but YOU? Now I really am disappointed in the trip. As if it ain't already bad enough that we got a football game tomorrow that I'll have to listen to on the way home!
  9. I haven't posted this week cause there wasn't much to offer. We traveled from Indian Point to the mouth of the Kings and back, to Cape Fair boat dock, two short trips to KC and to Big Cedar. Yeah, we like our boat riding - especially in September when I hate fishing. Played golf two days but was on the water the other five. The fishing we did do resulted in about 25-30 Kentucky's and a couple little largemouth. Zip for keepers but lots of fat 13 - 14 1/2 inchers (the photo's pretty representative). As is pretty normal for us in September fish were scattered all over the place. Nothing doing on the normal deep spots and the graph consistently looked like one of my more recent brain scans. All but a couple of our fish came off of points and bluff ends but no consistency at all. Catch one or two and back to the Dead Sea. It was my opinion (I'll be posting long term weather forecasts next) that the shad were everywhere and constantly moving. Hence, so was the fishes. My imperical data to support this theory is that during all that traveling (mostly at 30 - 35 mph) I must have seen 500 single swirls out near the channel or WAY out off points that were obviously a bass on shad. Never did we see any activity that would lead one to believe that there was any semblance of a school in the vicinity. We even took the bait (who's fishing for who?) a few times and stopped and flung a wide ranging arsenal in the exact spots to the still visible swirls but except for two times failed to hook up with anything more than the swirl remains. I shouldn't be disappointed (and really I'm not) as it was a typical September visit for us. I was marginally more hopeful due to the cooler temperatures the past month or so but never found water cooler than around 75 - 76 (and that was early) and most was still 79 - 80. Perfect for Kathy's beloved September swimming but same 'ol same 'ol for my fishing. Kind of amazing how some of the trees have already turned. Nonetheless, a superb week of weather and we'll be back to do battle again in mid October. I'd appreciate it if y'all could get these babies a little more cooperative by then!
  10. Me too. Never understood the fuss. As Sgt. Barnes so eloquently stated, "Everybody gotta die sometime Red." In the meantime, medium rare for me! Or maybe a little less..........
  11. That is just so sad.
  12. C'mon MO, it's been a while for sure but don't act like you don't remember one of the best hitting outfielders in baseball history!
  13. That is one fine grin! I'm proud of the smile and you should be proud of the fish!
  14. Ahh, now that all sounds like fun boatin'. Gotta be what everybody had in mind back when these waters were all first impounded. Dad: "Hey babe, It's a beautiful day out there. Let's take the kids out on the lake for a couple of hours and see how many of us come back alive! Should be a blast!" Babe: "I'm in! I'll get the survival kits and some extra flares for after dark search and recovery!" Puts me in the perfect frame of mind since we're pulling out and headed south in about an hour. Save us a gurney...........
  15. Although I have zero mechanical knowledge about anything mechanical, I gotta say again that I love reading your posts about mechanical stuff! I always feel way smarter afterwards and that's a great and rare feeling for my dummazz. Thanks for lending such substantial expertise to the forum - I find it to be quite the bonus.
  16. Roger that. Our housing area is having their annual yard sale tomorrow. What a great morning to leave for Table Rock! Some perfect symmetry in that...........
  17. Wow. That would be tough to leave. Good luck and I hope you get back often.
  18. Nah, I don't think it has anything to do with lack of smarts. Just one of those "overcome by events" deals. Nonetheless, if you're looking for sympathy you're going to have to change the subject!
  19. Yes I will and do. Don't mean I'm gonna share though......... It's that sort of intrigue that keeps people saying that I'm "deep and mysterious". OK, nobody ever actually said that but I still ain't tellin'.
  20. You gonna need x-ray vision to find some of my strays! Like Gary McCord said, "You could wrap bacon around that one and Lassie couldn't find it!"
  21. Oh, sure, great. Now you're giving me OPTIONS! And, of course, my head is already spinning...... Mauve/purple/pink, morning dawn Yum Dinger, mauve/purple/pink, morning dawn Yum Dinger, mauve/purple.............. Now I'm glad that Dave talked me into disposing of all my watermelon red stuff. NOT!
  22. Yup. That'll be my first stop Saturday afternoon now! Gotta check my mauve/purple/pink worm inventory though................. Hope you had a great time. We'll take the watch next week but then somebody's gonna have to fill in till mid October.
  23. That looks light years away from Derby! Very nice.
  24. Thought this was kind of interesting. The story has been told on 60 Minutes and a few other "investigative" type programs as well. For the record, I wear Maui Jim's and Oakley. Crazy or not, I buy what I like whenever I can afford to...........
  25. Ahh. Good call.
