  1. But, see, you don't KNOW if I can turn it off if and when I want to. Maybe I just CHOOSE not to? And I've got Kathy looking into the third party out of state deal. Not my area......
  2. Sure. Show me the 💰💲💰💲💵 !!! 😘
  3. Man, you guys are the greatest - I need to work on fine tuning my weather mojos so that I can start applying them with surgical precision thus sparing the "good guys". Thanks for the kind words and beyond generous offers and I'd love to someday make some of that stuff happen! Well, except for the "gar" part. Those things scare me.... As for your weather for today and the immediate future 'ol Vern is back home now so all y'all can rest easy for awhile. And I must be home cause last night we had a hurricane grade thunderstorm roll through so it's good to know I've still got it. However, keep in in mind that we will likely be back down on a golf only trip the end of June or early July and will definitely be back shortly after Labor Day so your respite, while very real, is also a little short! Enjoy!
  4. Suhweet! Things is looking up! My life now almost seems to be gaining some semblance of being meaningful again! OK, maybe just not so meaningless but whatever.
  5. We just came off the water about a half hour ago and I can confidently report that the nutfest has officially begun. Was planning on taking the boat out this afternoon but the boat ramp is already in full carnival mode as expected so I’ll wait till morning when hopefully everybody is sleeping it off. Anyways, I don’t have a ton to offer regarding fishing help as it was just a weird week. Have been here since Saturday afternoon and only fished Sunday, Wednesday and a couple hours today. Total blasphemy I know but between wind, storms, golf and other “stuff” that was it. The trip down with Kathy is always way different than when my brother and I come but this was just goofy. Three weeks ago he and I caught ‘em like everyone else - Ned and Keitech primarily with probably 80% smallmouth and 80% keepers or better. Good stuff. Not so much in my limited time out this trip. Mostly largemouth the majority of which were spawned out and maybe 10% keepers. The few smallies and spots we caught were all less than keepers. I’m sure most of the problem was lack of effort and staying shallow too long. Even with the water fluctuating like crazy most of my fish came from just in front of flooded bushes and the rest were fifteen feet deep and most were on Ned or one of Bo’s finesse jigs. I must have had about a hundred hard smacks on Ned just as it hit bottom and whiffed on about ninety seven of ‘em! Born loser comes to mind. Thought about FINALLY moving out on the points and drop shotting some this afternoon but I ain’t that Martens boy and as I mentioned the weekend armada had already arrived. I’m sure he could hang in and catch ‘em in those waves but I’d be over the side in ten minutes. Bottom line, do exactly what Mr. Babler suggests that you do and you will have your absolute best chance to catch ‘em. I would also mention that around seven o’clock or so in evening was by far the best bite I experienced although that was only two nights. Again, ‘ol Ned from the bank out to maybe twenty feet. And when the evening fish bit there was no doubt as they really got after it. Good luck but most of all be very, very careful out there. I swear at least half those people are driving with their eyes closed and the other half aren’t even bothering to look! 👀
  6. You know, I have always liked you C4F - you might just be smarter than Forest Gump!
  7. I guess you got me there seein’s how many of the country’s leaders have now declared that my retirement pension and social security are now “entitlements”. Nonetheless, I appreciate whatever support I can get! Especially since my little extortion plan doesn’t seem to be gaining much traction. ☹️
  8. My powers of influence in regards to the weather are far reaching and virtually without limitations! Well, that is unless you want GOOD weather in which case I got nuthin’.
  9. I’m not cheap but I can be bought. And aren’t you supposed to be “working”?
  10. Call me paranoid if you must but I’m beginning to feel a little unwelcome here! And believe it or not it’s been even worse at home. Scheduled to head back in the morning but I’m starting to give some thought to an extortion plan of some sort. Seein’s how I ain’t much wanted in either place there might be some income potential here I play my cards right! Just need to establish a “fair” opening bid and see where things go from there! What say you? Any takers?
  11. Geez. C’mon. Seriously, how many times have you really ever even tried it? You guys that “work” do nothing but whine.
  12. I fainted from sensory overload somewhere around the third paragraph! For what it’s worth I had to drive down here and unload the boat and now have to get up every morning and go fish for an entire week so it ain’t like my deal is just some big pushover ya know! AND I got rained on a little too. Actually, that sounds pretty dang impressive. Your part I mean.
  13. I had no idea. I mean, I knew you had one of those job thingys or whatever they call them but NINETY MINUTES? With buttons AND knobs? My heart goes out to you and hopefully your ungrateful family will someday see the error of their ways and make things right by you. Although I'm not sure how mere penance on their part could ever possibly make you whole again. As a salute to you and in an effort to assuage this agony unfairly perpetrated upon you, I am going to make the ultimate personal sacrifice. That's right - in about an hour I'm going to pull the Ranger all the way to Table Rock and fish for the entire week! That'll show 'em! Stay strong my brother. You're welcome....
  14. There is no room in the life of a fisherman for whiners! All that negative energy is nothing but counterproductive to what’s really important in life. They’re darn lucky that you’re so overly tolerant of their ridiculous wants and expectations. I, for one, commend you!
  15. Might have to change my name to Maynard G. Krebs. Work?
  16. On my computer I just typed in MLF.com and it took me right to the live streaming and I'm about an idiot when it comes to this stuff. I would also add that although I used to love watching fishing shows back in the day for the last ten years or so I just can't hardly stand it and hardly ever watch. However, this deal is pretty dang cool if you ask me. Somebody might have actually invented a better mouse trap when it comes to fishing and "television". And it's getting me shaking even more than Bill's jig bite report! Can't wait till tomorrow.
  17. Seein's how I fail to meet either of the requirements you describe I'll swing by BPS and have it checked out. Thanks!
  18. You're one of the good guys Quill so you've got nothing to worry about - although I'd be careful about associating with some of these other naysayers that might make the mistake of underestimating what I'm capable of! Sometimes that voodoo that I do scares even me.
  19. Kind of off but yet on the subject but wondered how big a deal it is to get the anti-reverse repaired on a Stradic? Just noticed yesterday that I have one that's failed. Sorry for the interruption.

C'mon, man! That's just flat wrong......
  21. Well, in golf if you accept cash or prizes with a value equal to or greater than $750 you lose your amateur status, are deemed a "pro" and are no longer allowed to compete in amateur events. Now I and a whole lotta other guys (I'm sure Snagged and Champ are in this group) have won and accepted way more than that in Calcutta events, money games, etc. but still remain "amateurs" simply due to the relatively smalltime nature of the events. However, do that in any "name" event and you WILL forfeit your amateur status and, although it's possible to get reinstated it ain't easy. Technically, a guy or gal that wins a car as a hole in one prize forfeits their amateur status but that's such a blurred line that it is abused and circumvented more often than Babler goes fishing. I don't fish tournaments and could be very wrong about this but it seems to me that the fishing world hasn't done a very good job of establishing what is and isn't a pro vs. amateur or pro/amateur event. But then again golf doesn't do a very good job of enforcing their version of the rules and there's plenty of hotshots running around out there with $400 staff bags with "Titleist" or whatever emblazoned all over their hats and clothes that think they're somebody but can't even beat me. Lots of wannabes in all areas of "sport" I guess is what it comes down to and I find them to be humorous and annoying all at the same time.
  22. With two days to go before we get back down there you got me sitting here shaking like one of those paint mixing machines! Heck, I can't even tie a knot to get any jigs rigged up! Looks like worms and bobbers for me again...... Might even get me a new cane pole for this trip! Thanks for the great report (as always).

Whoa Nellie..... Hold it right there mister - that is WAY outta line! 🙅‍♂️
  24. I didn't take it that way at all. However, "maudlin" is a very good word that I hadn't heard in quite some time! Besides, you don't strike me as the kind of guy that has a mawkish bone in his body. Sorry, the best I could do on short notice.....
  25. Now that's just mean. Y'all could have lost me that day! ⚡ However, (and somewhat ironically) it was around that time that I seemed to acquire my "superpowers" when it comes to negatively affecting the weather. And it's not nice to fool with someone who's so close with Mother Nature! And that now goes double for you Champ! Big meanie.......
