  17. i can tell you for a fact that the Salt has a pretty nice population of smallies, we float it a few times a year and wade the tributaries regularly (see my username) the key is to find rocky areas and avoid the long mud flats. On a side note when they aren't running water out of the re reg those long slow runs can lead to some serious stretches of paddling
  18. Just recently finished re reading The Forever War by Joe Haldeman, Nightfall by Issac Asimov, and Alas Babylon by Pat Frank (these were all re-reads as they are 3 of my favorite books.) I usually keep a copy of a Gierach book around (bathroom) to pick up and read through. Currently I'm debating on whether I should buy The Hunger Games or Game of Thrones first any suggestions from people who have read them?
  19. try carp. they are literally everywhere in the mississippi and pretty darn fun to catch on top of it
  20. i smash em down before i tie or before they go into my box, when i fish anything with a treble hook like a crankbait or such i always smash down because i HATE taking trebles out, i cant seem to do it without sticking one of the other hooks in another part of the or my hand, i may have started fly fishing because of my irrational hatred of treble hooks now that i think about it
  21. did this happen? i am interested in this
  22. LOL this scene will not stop playing in my head and it is hysterical.
  23. i have noticed the same thing, and it seems like there are a lot more people in the fly area than the campground sections now. Although that could be due to the fact that as i have gotten older we started going during the week more often than weekends to avoid crowds
  24. ....bamboo fly rod......3wt and 8 wt
