  1. I saw something called a pond prowler that looked perfect IMO.
  2. That little stream is like my church...I was crushed
  3. The Ozarks are amazing. We are moving back to Milwaukee in a few weeks and I am going to miss the wildlife, forest, rivers and parks so much. This place will always be very special to me. It has been a remarkable 4 and 1/2 years.
  4. I wish this wouldn't have happened on my stream. 10 mile creek is a special mgmt stream and you are only supposed to keep 1 smallmouth. This was a few days ago so black bass season hadn't even opened yet. Counted 17 bass total...9 smallmouth. All the bass were enormous... Sucks
  5. Beautiful
  6. I got a bunch yesterday. I am throwing one on my yak and 1on my bass guitar case. Will pass out the rest. Thanks Nice stickers
  7. I get posts from a Facebook page/ group called crappie crazy ( I think, I will look it up to make sure I have right name). Anyways, that site seems to have quite a few pics of nice slabs taken from those two lakes in the last few weeks. I havnt seen an official report but I'm sure you can get a ton of info by private messaging someone on that page/group.
  8. Wow! I get excited if I get a 15 or 16 incher Haha
  9. I live near poplar bluff and could help Nice design.....will put the 3rd one on my yak
  10. Mingo national wildlife refuge is a place you should check out. Stanley creek as well. Watch where you step along the banks though..cottonmouths are all over the place
  11. I got one. Filled it out and returned it
  12. I am going out to target crappie tomorrow in southeast MO. I have a kayak or can fish from shore. Mingo, duck creek, otter slough, pinewood lake in Elsinore and a 13 acre Private pond behind my home are all options. I caught some outstanding slabs last spring on my private pond on 3 different occasions and all were before May. After that, nothing. I wasn't specifically looking for crappie then but after I caught a few I was hooked. Us minnows and a bobber or something else? Anyone have any luck at the places I mentioned? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
  13. Edit... Of course It all depends on where you live and what you can get to with relative ease.
  14. IMO Sam a baker state park is a fantastic place to take your kid. Big creek is perfect for a family. I go there with mine about 10 times each summer to swim, fish, hike and they have a ni e playground. The stream is filled with sunfish and some smallies. I often see deer, armadillos, northern water snakes, turtles, frogs etc. it is a truly remarkable little park and it is very family friendly in every way IMO For reference, my kids are almost 2 and 4.
  15. 10 mile creek
  16. What about the stretch of river that runs through st Francois state park on highway 67. 35 minute drive from saint Louis.
  17. The coywolf of British Columbia episode on PBS Nature was very interesting fyi
  18. Wow those are huge. Jealous
  19. didn't know about the co-op bird seed purchase....will be doing that in the future. My 3 year old and I take old bagels, cover them in peanut butter and sprinkle bird seed on them then hang them from our back deck with a shoestring and stick a pencil through the bagel. Birds love it. We got the idea from MO Dept of Conservation kids magazine. Great little project for parents of little outdoor lovers like mine. Great picture by the way. I want to get some close up shots of woodpeckers for my wildlife Ozark photo album.
  20. again...just an awesome photo...probably my favorite pic I have seen on this site so far. hope you keep posting wildlife shots because I love seeing them
