  1. Depends on the size of the fly but I like to just fish 3 to 4 feet of straight ten pound.
  2. See you there Billet!
  3. Mine have hit the mail.
  4. I'm here. Haven't had time to go to the post office. It's my busy season at work and I'm lucky if I get to spend 10 minutes off of the phone. I will try to get over there in an hour or so If I can sneak away for a few minutes.
  5. Good stuff. I think you will like it a lot.
  6. Going to disagree with you on this one. Anytime i get fish on a swing it is either right when my fly hits the water or after my fly has turned broadside or started coming back facing upstream. If you look into a lot of the swinging stuff from steel head guys out west they always try to keep their fly broadside as much as possible to be the most visible.
  7. Just like any swung streamer I never like to set with the hook straight up. Keep your rod tip pointed not directly at, but in the general direction of your fly. Set the hook low not up, or a strip set but don't hammer them. Let them get the hook. It was a feel thing for me and took a while but that's just what works for me.
  8. Can I mail these yet? I am going to lose them if I have to keep them for much longer. Plus who knows when I will actually get around to shipping them once I have decided to..
  9. If this is in response to Trigg saying that they are getting a few and doing ok... I have seen plenty of pictures of some good fish coming out of the White right now. Sure it may be tougher than usual but figuring them out in that water is part of the reward itself. Just because people aren't posting pictures here doesn't mean that they aren't elsewhere, or that it isn't happening. I have yet to see Trigg push his business himself on this board at all. He's the good peoples.
  10. I think that there are more big browns in Taney than anyone actually knows. I'm just surprised more people don't catch them. I know some real big ones come out every year but I think if someone spent enough time on a streamer or jerkbite game they might be able to get some figured out.
  11. Yes. I have been letting the paint dry then just supergluing them on. I'm out of the UV stuff and haven't got around to getting more, and a new light. I just don't trust the paint to have a strong enough hold on the eyes to keep them down. If I had uv I probably would just set them onto the paint, and when that was dry UV over the top of all of that.
  12. Are you doing the t-shirt paint, then extra glue to keep the eyes on or just setting the eyes into the t-shirt paint?
  13. I've been tying a few of those too Billett. I've been doing dubbing brushes of craft fur But I think the EP brushes mentioned would make a cleaner/ more uniform head. They are a sweet fly, I just can't get them the same as Jim's. And that's ok with me.

    Foam Frog

That thing looks like a nightmare to cast though. Is it supposed to pop? Check out the zud bubbler boddies. Makes a foam frog all sorts of easy.

    What's Cooking?

Just like most nicknames.. It doesn't count if you give it to yourself.

    What's Cooking?

What STL Beer is better than some of the killer stuff that is coming out of KC? Your crazy if you think any STL BBQ cdan compare to KC's standard stuff.
  17. I did miss that then. I actually wouldn't hate to see a barbless reg up in the trophy area. It's amazing how many of the fish that hang out up there have mouths that are just torn up. Then again, if they would enforce that I would think I would at least see agents up there time to time. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people walking around with stringers of slot fish that they can't keep.
  18. I looked up the regs, is the barbless new this year? whole lake? Anything limiting you to one hook?
  19. I mean you can kind of add the rattle to anything if you really want. If you throw it in the front of a gurgler and for the front lip back over and tie down you still face a couple problems. 1. The rattle will sit at or above water level. 2. it may work out for the better but the added weight in the front of that fly will pull the front down. 3. It will either stick out the sides of the front unless you tie with a real wide strip of foam, which is fine, except it will envelope every thing you tied on as the body on the shank. You could tie it on length ways on the body and maybe get some sound out of it. Other than that I'll just keep my rattle use to big streamers and a few craw patterns in the body, if I use them at all.
  20. I agree with Fly. I like fishing Hada's creek crawlers but I also hate fishing them because they are tedious to tie, and losing them is a real pain. I tie and fish them because I like to fish flies I am happy with, but dammit if it doesn't hurt a little bit when a 10-15 minute fly gets hung on the bottom a couple times in a row. Also, you bounce that off of a rock once and I think you are breaking your rattle regardless of what it's made of. not a whole lot of protection there for it. And yes I have seen that video.
  21. Mine are done. My cat chewed up a few so I had to redo some. Can you PM me your address so I can get them in the mail with a few extras?
  22. Mic Do you do any streamer fishing really? Was going to throw one or two in for you for hosting, but won't if you won't use them. I can put something else in too.
