    What's Cooking?

Leftover pork loin tonight. Wifey put one of those sous vide gizmos under the tree, can't wait to play with it. Anybody ever mess with one?
  2. Prefer to donate locally. Plenty of them out there. Easy to check out their 990 status on the IRS website.

    What's Cooking?

Merry Christmas all. Loin was great, better than ham, guests devoured,...but not a match for flavor of a rib roast....Good start to two weeks of decadence! Hope you that your bellies and your glasses are full always!

    What's Cooking?

Stuffed with porcini, onion, Apple, spinach, garlic, thyme, rosemary, sage, and pork sausage. Have not tried before but based on Bon Appetit's prosciutto wrapped pork loin with roasted apples. Opted for some on sale bacon instead. e

    The Brown is Down

Northern deer have better hides for tying. Cheap enough, cleaned, and already died from Wapsi.

    What's Cooking?

That Canadian bacon looks great. Makes me hungry for egg sandwich...English muffin buttered & toasted, Large egg cooked overeasy, couple slices of thick cut Canadian bacon, and a slice of cheese. Fry em up two at a time in a big skillet over a campfire...No plates allowed.

    Whatchya Drinking?

Tito's vodka. Found it at Ed's in St. James years ago. Available in every market near my house these days. Look for the neary empty shelf. Cheaper than Kettle One or Absolut and better IMO.

    Whatchya Drinking?

Wife wanted eggnog with bourbon. Got a bottle of makers to go with. Makers isn't that bad. Had 4 fingers worth of Aberloar last night, very good.
  10. They cant do anything significant about CWD even if they wanted too. I'm sure that they will keep some folks with meaningless non-cash generating jobs busy with it though. Some Deer die, lots by vehicle, lots by lead poisoning, Darwin already explained that.
  11. Insulated coveralls, lots of layers, and a good hat.
  12. Have not had a Daiwa in years, but they used to have bail spring problems. Pluegers are kind of clunky but they always do the job. Lew's no thanks, 6 trips and then the trash can. Shimano's are nice when they work, but a grain of sand or a splash of river dribble turns one into a useless paperweight.

    Whatchya Drinking?

Have not been to the Colonies in awhile. Always some good eats and a good time. Kendall Jackson Summation is pretty good for a mid-priced red blend. Boss was buying tonight so went with the Balvenie double wood, neat.

    What's Cooking?

Made some Fettucine Alfredo last week. Pretty easy to do from scratch. 1/2 stick of butter, quart of half & half, couple cloves of garlic, S&P. Bring it to a hard boil then thicken with around 4oz of grated Parmesan. Easy, cheap, and better than store bought.
  15. Hope the don't go hog wild and make 3 more Echo Bluffs.

    What's Cooking?

One in Maplewood, have not tried. Prefer pan fried to deep fried chicken, but requires two days and some prep. Brine it, butter milk soak, season, bread, then fry about 12 a side in iron cookware.
  17. Glad your treatment worked out well!
  18. I'm not aware of any mobile home parks in the area either, but you might look for an existing lot in Montauk Village..just up the hill from the park on the eastern side.

    What's Cooking?

All looks good! The eggs & salsa dish looks like Shakshuka...popular in Isreal. Wife kids have been sick, so have been running my tail off. Made some pretty decent enchiladas verde with some leftover turkey the other night. Kids ate jalapeƱos for the first time.
  20. Brown Trout love big minnow baits. Can't go wrong with a 4.5" model. Sometimes bigger, occasionally smaller. Same stuff you fish for bass.
  21. Nice boat! Love to catch reds, hope you have a great trip!
