  1. Congrats! A heat gun or hair dryer and a plastic putty knife will make quick work of the registration numbers. You'll probably have to get a title by affidavit from Missouri Water Patrol if you want to run trolling motor on it...but paddle it first. Mine worked well with a kayak paddle going upstream..but for downstream I used a single blade.
  2. I'm sure it was them....We floated from East Gate (Were those ingrate heads were) down to FS road 1730 at Booker Bend. The company & the bluff views were great, but habitat was poor...Lots of long stretches of flat featureless limestone bottom and not alot of good looking habitat in between. Plus what looked good...didnt fish well. Most of our fish came from the off bank, or spots were no wader could get a cast too if near a road. Not many fish at all IMO.
  3. Custom coolers for SOT kayaks...Figure that most Mfgs are missing an opportunaty to sell custom coolers, or an insert to secure a cooler as an add on option.
  4. I had fun! Some good laughs & stories...great scenery and some fish caught...Did 11 miles...didnt have time to pick it apart. Larry got the best one...Made a great presentation to a great spot...and bingo! Sorry for getting you wet. Thought about getting a pick of the heads plates...but that thought left me. Remember what they were driving? Yellow tent..silver beater..younger dude 25ish. 6'1 or so with black hair and a buzz cut. The woman looked like heck.5.9" ratty blond hair and sores on her face..probably 30 going on 57. Might want to call it in to the Pulaski County Police. Still need to call game thief for those out of season smallmouth remains we saw at the takeout.
  5. That little zip'n ziggy has a great action and it catches fish judging by Mr. Bigs performance on the river the other day. Price aint bad either...Picked up a few today...No financial interest...but The Hookup Tackle..has a 20% off deal this month...enter USA in the promo code box...Expensive day...dropped $100 on gear...and picked up an Ari Hart Traun F1 Fly reel from a friend of mine.
  6. The stretches with alot of lead mine tailings in them...still hold bass...but you dont find them in areas with large concentrations of tailings..The stuff looks like sand on the bottom and nothing seems to lives on it...When you spot some...paddle down aways and find some better habitat the fish will be there.....The tailngs issue starts aways below the Leadwood Access and it continues in few spots between Cherokee Landing and Cole's. Its there, but not aparrent below.
  7. You could hit the wild trout creeks west of Rolla (Mill, Spring, & Little Piney).
  8. Dunno if you can get a shuttle or not..Dont leave anything in your vehicle and make sure you have a locking gas cap.
  9. Lucky Craft makes some great baits, but the Sammy 85 is the stinker in the series..the 100 is very good and I like the Gunfish 95 alot..Live pointers suck.
  10. The creek flattens out alot below Rhymers...I'd probably do Blue Spring down to Rhymers as oppossed to Rhymers to Bay or Alley..pack light!
  11. Been to Pictured Rocks/Seney...its a long drive, and brutal fishing for 6-8" brookies...There are some nice ones on the Fox...but you'll need a square stern canoe with a motor, a quart of Deet, and a blood transfusion at the end of the trip (if you dont get lost in the swamp). Watch out for Jack Pine Savages, black bears, and wolves too;>)!
  12. The management at ONSR cant take credit for anything at this point.Too many cruising. loser..couple years till I retire..jack wagon superintendants in a row...Last one was a total douche by all accounts...Hope the new super...has some vision and a pair of brass balls.
  13. All day long if they want to eat it...pretty hard to stop if your getting any action.
  14. Greer is flowing 380..and its flowing 540cfs 19 miles downstream at Riverton . There are 3-4 creeks and several springs between Greer and Riverton...Do a rain dance if you want to float from Cane Bluff in 3-4 weeks. Call up Eleven Point Canoe rental..they will know. Have fun!
  15. Greer Spring is pumping out 390 cfs...so it should be good from Greer Access on down.
  16. Good for you...sounds like you figured out the pattern on that creek.
  17. The water level is low (450cfs range) so the fishing will probably be tough. I'd probably start with 5x if nymphing, mabye 6x if needed. The crayfish are usually abundant this time of year so have some coyote or fox tail clousers in your box. Get out early and stay late. Good luck.
  18. Dont know if their is much demand for those blanks..Look like they screw into a metal handle...Might check completed auctions on ebay to see what they are selling for. Good Luck.
  19. Hardy makes a very nice rod...some of the rods in their lower priced Grey's lineup are very nice too.
  20. Nice bugle lips...15 is ...common...knock down a 30.;>)!
  21. Go to the USGS store...you can download free 7.5 x 7.5 Quads and print them. Or use Phil's maps on the Current River Home page.
  22. The problem is that some of these bait shops dont know where their crawfish are coming from..and there are no constraints to prevent the buyer from releasing those crayfish in an areas where the are non-native. Kinda reminds me of a road trip to Michigan where we stopped to buy fireworks in Indiana...I had to buy a $3 Indiana Fireworks Permit and promise to use them only in an Indiana Designated Fireworks Area. What do you think happened...
  23. Were are you gonna guide? You may need a concessionaires permit from the National Park Service, or US Forest Service depending on where you plan to operate. There are some revenue sharing and reporting requirements with both agencies.
  24. Production mold in the works? Your turning into the Bobby Garland of hand pours.
