  1. You can float the Niangua R. above or below Bennett and catch Smallmouth bass. Canoe rental & shuttle probably $50, but don’t know. We have boats and run our own shuttles. You can catch Smallmouth at Bennett when they move up the spring branch.
  2. Awesome! Good for you!
  3. Finally read the article. The cheating did not surprise me. Anything to please your fans and monetize your YouTube channel. Plus those guys fish in managed big bass lakes. Trout parks for bass mostly. Some a hole will want his name on the Lunker Board and snag one to make it happen again.
  4. Awesome! Good for you! It’s been along time since I’ve encountered a good mayfly hatch.
  5. I like the Giant Dog X allot...Its not giant plug by any means...about the size of a Sammy 100...but it works well. I don't fish a popper much on the river...but walking a popper seems to work better than pop, stop retrieves(usually),
  6. What a total scumbag.
  7. Was hoping for a group camp and disperse to fish on some lazy semi clear rivers with nice bass this weekend. Not gonna happen. Let’s pick another time because it will be fun. Headwater stretches and spring fed creek mouths s/b good.
  8. Great place to visit!
  9. Another big plug on the Gasconade Hazelgreen gauge up 5000 cfs today. Not sure where plan B may be.
  10. Huge plug of water coming down the B. Piney today. Will have to try this again once we get some stable weather. Would be up for a plan B..but not much looks good right now. Might have to go lake fishing.
  11. Have a football field sized property in the STL burbs. House sits on the first 100x100. Plus deer. Can’t shoot them but our dog likes to run them off.
  12. They should make everyone apply for a permit and get rid of this landowner tag nonsense. Tags s/b free for MO residents. We pay enough through or sales taxes.
  13. Hey all, I’m gonna call this off for next week. I don’t want to waste anyone’s fishing time on muddy water. Will do as soon as possible
  14. They are not illegal..You are mistaken.
  15. I like afternoons as well. Water temp rises a bit and they seem to get more active.
  16. Timing is at least 80% of the equation.
  17. Good for you both. It will be a great memory!
  18. Chucks works great for emerger and spinner. A comparadun and pt or chucks dropper is a great combo.

Me and my buddy won biggest bag and the big fish 3 yrs running in the kiddo tourney with carp. The 2-5lb fish are stinking easy to catch on canned corn with some chum. We put em in a baskets or and let em go. Will toss a fly or grub at a carp if I can sight fish for them. Soaking bait in muddy water has no apeal.
  20. Floated the Missouri in a canoe once. Lots of gumbo suck mud & sand. Would prefer a trailered motor boat with at least a 40hp on that ditch. Life jacket on, you are in trouble if you go swimming.
  21. Run the locked stretches of the Mississippi with it.

Think that those "Far from the Hatchery" have been dining on a natural diet of invertebrates for awhile. Raceway trout are raised as cheaply as possible. The feed they use is liver based.

Depends. If they have pink or orange flesh they are excellent table fare. Those go in a foil pack on the grill with some butter & seasoning. Gray fleshed stockers get skinned, filleted, breaded, and fried in peanut oil for fish tacos. Serve to order with a side of Hush Puppies. Smoked is OK too. I slash a fishes gills and let it bleed out the second I choose to keep it and always keep them cool. Best if consumed within an hour or two of capture.
  24. Access is a huge issue. Permission to hunt & fish used to be easy to get. Permission goes to the highest bidder these days.
  25. It is up...but who knows what 10 days will bring. The forecast doesn't look good. Will make a go/no go decision on Tuesday of next week.
