  1. Finally done. Sick of stock brokers that sell Master Limited Partnerships to anyone with a pulse.
  2. Hens are usually fall mushrooms, same with chickens. Hens are hard to spot from a glance, but will be at the base of a round edge leafed oak tree. Bigger trees. Best hen tree is probably 5-7' in diameter.
  3. Chants are easy, look in Oak Hickory when it gets sweaty muggy hot after a rain. Usully mid-June before they start to fire. Found some morels last week, but looks good going forward. Haven't had time to look again. Morels like the edges, hill tops, sunny spots, thin woods. They associate with trees, but are where the are. Chants will be in the woods in the moister spots, where the hill drains mostly.
  4. Fishing stunk that weekend. Only thing that produced a few was the ned, gills and goggs were fairly active. Would not rate that water as good, last years trip, was better but similar. Buddy and I did allot better further downstream on same weekend.
  5. Anything that makes a wake. Mice, but no tail or,ears required. Clump of trimmed deer hair on a stout hook should do fine.
  6. Bought 2lbs today in St Louis. First good haul.
  7. Congrats on your retirement, you always catch fish.
  8. Is a great bait. Have been fishing the prototypes for years, many around here have.
  9. Al, you are better fish catcher than I am, but, I don't give a stink about how it happens. Maybe it's because you paddle ahead all the time, never give your buddies first shot. That is how you roll.
  10. Should slide down a tree top just fine. All you need, friendly jump on the hook fish mostly.
  11. Good Times!
  12. Guess it's on. Didn't find any yet, but only checked two early spots.
  13. Like that float! Have always done lower, but that looks easier at that level. Had some awesome topwater last summer. Cast straight down and get an eat almost every time.
  14. 3x is my usual tippet for MO, trout or bass. Might step it down for trout. Trout are MUCH pickier about line size. Usually 5x if the water is clear. But have 0,3,4,5,6 on and if trout fishing. 3-4 sizes of split shot.
  15. Not I my library. Did you give to Hoff or Phil?
  16. First one is probably a Dryad's Saddle. Have no idea about the one with the brown cap & white gills. Nice haul of Oysters in the last pic.
  17. Dunno, Have caught them on Swim Jigs with 5" paddle tail shads as a trailer. Not the best for numbers or when it is slow, but does select for size somewhat when the bite is on.
  18. Nebraska would fire later...but looking good here. Starting redbuds, and dogwoods in bloom, and I saw some dandelions in bloom on the way to the office this AM. Will have to take a look tomorrow.
  19. Put it on eBay...Have a buddy who does allot of that to finance his fishing trips and vacations. He deals in classic fishing tackle, and angling collectables, but he might be willing to take it off your hands.
  20. Block does average returns pretty well, but not complex. Better than most small tax shops, they do train their preparers, and they don't cheat. Fine for a couple W-2's, and itemized, simple schedule C or E, but that is not what I do very often. Usually have to account for several activities (S-corps, partnerships, trusts, rental activities, etc) before the 1040 can be completed. The limit on medical itemized deductions really stinks. The folks who benefit from that most are asset long seniors living in high priced nursing homes.
  21. Assemble most of my own spin rods, and always spend extra on a good titanium tip top with a bridge and a great insert. Helps cut down on tip wraps, and if it does they slide right off. Easy to replace, yourself in a minute or two on a factory rod.
  22. I like it on spin rigs with a leader, use mono on my baitcasters. Its more important to use what you like, and you will never know unless you try it. Like the Suffix 2lb diameter(they say its 6lb but lots stronger) in hi viz yellow and not a fan of power pro. You need the leader with that skinny braid, probably not with a thicker diameter string.
  23. Dan with you in a headlock? LOL, totally out of character.
  24. Glad you all got together.
  25. Some 2-3 inch yellows reported in Texas County today. Might take a peek tomorrow.
