Merry Christmas all. Loin was great, better than ham, guests devoured,...but not a match for flavor of a rib roast....Good start to two weeks of decadence! Hope you that your bellies and your glasses are full always!
Stuffed with porcini, onion, Apple, spinach, garlic, thyme, rosemary, sage, and pork sausage. Have not tried before but based on Bon Appetit's prosciutto wrapped pork loin with roasted apples. Opted for some on sale bacon instead.

That Canadian bacon looks great. Makes me hungry for egg sandwich...English muffin buttered & toasted, Large egg cooked overeasy, couple slices of thick cut Canadian bacon, and a slice of cheese. Fry em up two at a time in a big skillet over a campfire...No plates allowed.
Tito's vodka. Found it at Ed's in St. James years ago. Available in every market near my house these days. Look for the neary empty shelf. Cheaper than Kettle One or Absolut and better IMO.
They cant do anything significant about CWD even if they wanted too. I'm sure that they will keep some folks with meaningless non-cash generating jobs busy with it though. Some Deer die, lots by vehicle, lots by lead poisoning, Darwin already explained that.
Have not had a Daiwa in years, but they used to have bail spring problems. Pluegers are kind of clunky but they always do the job. Lew's no thanks, 6 trips and then the trash can. Shimano's are nice when they work, but a grain of sand or a splash of river dribble turns one into a useless paperweight.
Have not been to the Colonies in awhile. Always some good eats and a good time. Kendall Jackson Summation is pretty good for a mid-priced red blend. Boss was buying tonight so went with the Balvenie double wood, neat.
Made some Fettucine Alfredo last week. Pretty easy to do from scratch. 1/2 stick of butter, quart of half & half, couple cloves of garlic, S&P. Bring it to a hard boil then thicken with around 4oz of grated Parmesan. Easy, cheap, and better than store bought.
One in Maplewood, have not tried. Prefer pan fried to deep fried chicken, but requires two days and some prep. Brine it, butter milk soak, season, bread, then fry about 12 a side in iron cookware.
I'm not aware of any mobile home parks in the area either, but you might look for an existing lot in Montauk Village..just up the hill from the park on the eastern side.
All looks good! The eggs & salsa dish looks like Shakshuka...popular in Isreal. Wife kids have been sick, so have been running my tail off. Made some pretty decent enchiladas verde with some leftover turkey the other night. Kids ate jalapeƱos for the first time.
No camping at Tan Vat, but could borrow the wall tent if you need it for Joe Fest on the Current. You can cook Saturday dinner after your fundraising is over;)!
I know that Joe D can cook. Very Well I assume. He caters parties, guess our BS is not worthy;)! Would like to see some. Over 20 coming bye for a party,I need a day to prep and cook, unless family is bringing sides or doing standing rib roast, big bird, or a ham. Have some veggies in the Fam, serve them pasta & salad. Seem to like it.
