  1. There is a big DARE Program coming to Branson this summer. A DARE Officer asked me about fishing Taney. I told him to call Babbler (number on speed dial!) and Phil. He told me Megan at Lilley's has set him up with snacks, drinks, bait and a ton more. Many thanks to Bill, Phil, Megan and all that will make this a success and introduce more kids to fishing. I am sure a proper thanks will be coming from Brent Forgey and the DARE folks.....but as usual I wanted to throw in my two cents worth.
  2. White with red. Usually has a tall pot bellied dude on the front stuck in a tree, rock or untangling something! I was considering flat creek too. A friend has a place near there and "said" he didn't catch anything. Kind of hard to believe. I haven't decided if I am going to put in at Cape Fair and head up, or go to Aunt's Creek and head up. Best of luck in any case. Might have to get you to show me Bull Shoals someday.
  3. That is fairly inexpensive entry fees. You get quite a few boats?
  4. Just teasing Eric. I know you bleed Ranger blue. Nice boat. If the economy keeps going this direction....my 90 horse might not be the only little motor at the tourneys! I plan on being on the James on Wednesday too. Maybe see you out there Captain Joe. Mrs. techo has other plans for me Thursday.
  5. Buying a Skeeter E.P.?
  6. Welcome back Capt Don! Hope the show season went well.
  7. I agree with RPS as usual. If you look at the different topics the active ones all have one thing in common. Active interested admin. Table Rock and Taney are fairly fun to read, even if you don't fish one of them. You and Babble keep them lively and intriguing. Trueman is an awesome fishery, but not as active. (No offense intended to any moderators.) You have to beg for information in there. It is your site to do with as you will, but an active admin would seem to be important. Thank for all you have done so far. I cherish the information and friends I have made in here.
  8. Welcome to the form.
  9. Thats the place. Come anytime! If you see a little Skeeter with a tall pot bellied dude in it.....say hello
  10. If you are coming from point 13 you head up lake and then and take a right into the first cove after the first big point. There is an empty big dock on one side of the entry and a smaller dock with a Ranger on the right side of the entry. Lots of folks fish there in the heat of summer. The white bass even head in there at times. Er um....terrible fishing there. You might want to head toward the White! Shell Knob might be a better place to put in!
  11. Okay if I piggy back of your guys reports? We put in at Cape Fair about 9:15ish this morning. We started trying the Rogues for a while, but I finally gave up! We caught four short Kentuckys with the Eakins jigs. They were in about two feet of water on the pea rock banks that were on the windward sunny side. It felt like quite a few would pick it up and start to take it, but changed their mind. My Skeeter said water temps were from 42-46. We pulled out close to 2:00 PM. It was a great day overall with a great number of fisherman about. Bumped into T1365 and his sweet looking new Champion.
  12. Oh gosh! Can of worms.
  13. I have easy GPS for geocaching. Working on downloads now. Thanks!
  14. Brian is up to fourth now!
  15. Happy Birthday!
  16. It seems like there should be a way to just download it to your GPS instead of manually entering each coordinate.

    Weigh In

That is a big ole bass! Sounds like great bags and the weather turned out pretty good too!
  18. Hey Capt Joe, Will you tell me more how you rig it? Drop shot it or what? I understand the wacky rig part, but not how you are getting it down there. Did that make sense? I have been wanting to experment more with Senko type stuff.
  19. Thanks. There is a bait shop right in Johnston and I think he is famous for putting chilkoots on spots up there. I am actually going up there for work, ut thought I might try to fish a bit too. Schooner has a lot of fish in it. You will do well there.

    Roads

Thanks for the update. We are looking at going this weekend. Everything should be clear by then. Sorry the fish weren't cooperating.
  21. Your last post just makes sense! There are a lot of folks on the lake that have been hit hard the last few years. With the economy the way it is and Mother Nature wreaking havoc on the businesses....it has to be a tough life. Sorry about your boat and fishing gear. Even when you get new gear.....it seems you always had that rod that was perfect for jigging or just fit your hand perfect.
  22. I am a shaker......looking for a twelve step program.
  23. Hey EP! Not to steal the thread, but you have had some great fishing shows the past two weeks. I liked the feller that you interviewed two weeks ago. His life sounds a great deal similar to mine. I still think a forum with topics from local fishing shows would be cool. The whole kid fishing league and Kast for Kids tournaments are an example of topics that might get some people more involved in the future of fishing. Now back to your regularly scheduled topic....
  24. Might want to say hello to the couch after that less than encrypted post!
