  1. Glencoe is just below Rt66. The river heads north past Rt66 and then makes a right turn east to head towards Castlewood. That bend is at Glencoe. The map that Mitch posted up shows it too.
  2. I've waded Rt66 before, from about mid park (where the parking lot is) up to about halfway to the old bridge. The water was pretty far down when I did this and I could wade just about to halfway out in the river and it was just up to the middle of my thighs. There's some pretty strong current and I had trouble keeping my footing once I got up towards the bridge, there's a pretty strong riffle right there. Didn't catch any fish though, but then again, at the time I didn't really know how to fish a river (other than for trout with a fly rod)...Up until this recent rain we had a week or so ago when the river was really low I would think that you could wade the entire length of the park. Just remember there's no clear cut path to get to the river except for near the bridges and the boat ramp...I had to bush whack and scale down the bank to get to the river from that parking lot area inside the park...
  3. I think I like Kentucky in the final four. They look the strongest. But then again petino might have some tricks up his sleeve against his old team.
  4. Do the kayaks with built in trolling motors need to be registered, like the Ocean Kayak Torque series and the Hobie eVolves?
  5. A good lake Caught this dandy 4lb 1oz out of it...
  6. River came up too much last week to allow us to float on Monday. But we did hit a local lake in the kayaks and caught some really nice fish
  7. Neither...This is the place he mentions in the original post...
  8. Bassmaster isn't kidding about this place. We took out the kayaks today and caught some really nice bass. My biggest one was 4lbs 1oz. Also caught a couple 3 3/4lb bass and a few smaller ones too. Fun day indeed.
  9. Are you sure they were Asian carp? They haven't been known to be in the Meramec yet, and that's the only way they'd be able to get into Unger...Maybe just common carp? Hope they aren't Asian carp at least..
  10. I just spooled my spinning rod with 8lb Nanofil. Going to see how that stuff works. 150yd fit on my reel with no problem, that stuff is thin!
  11. Yeah, it's about a 6 mile float from Allenton to rt66 st park. We'll either do that or the float from robertsville to Catawissa.
  12. We are thinking about floating this stretch on the meramec on Monday. Is it a worthwhile stretch to fish this time of year or should we do robertsville to Catawissa or palisades?
  13. I can believe the Canada sized fish. My dad takes a yearly trip up to upper Alberta and catches 3-5 lb smallies all day long.
  14. Caught my first smallie ever on Calvey. But like said above, it gets pretty small in the summer with only a few holes big enough to keep fish. I've caught more small spots in it than anything. Fun to wade.
  15. I'd seriously think of bucking up a few more bucks and get a color unit. I just picked up the Lowerance Elite-4x DSI for $50 more than that monochrome Garmin...I haven't used it but I'm anxiously awaiting trying out the downscan imaging...
  16. Did it once a long time ago...Kind of silly if you ask me...

If you watched the last KU/Mizzou game, no Mizzou will not be getting any attention...at least not from commentators or sports writers...That was such a one sided conversation during that game it was sickening... And I agree...No one should underestimate SLU...pretty good team they got going there this year....they could wind up as a #9 seed and upset a #1 in the 2nd round...
  18. Losing rods in the rear holders? Simple solution, rod lanyards...not that big of deal if you ask me...
  19. There's about a 30lbs or so one on cabela's tank in St Louis if that not the one in the video.
  20. I too have the Stohlquist Fisherman vest...it seems like it'll be a great vest. The problem I have with the self inflatable vests is if I wanted to take a dip when I'm floating in the summer I'd have to take it off, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a vest on. A friend got an inflatable one and I asked him about that and he's just going to keep it on manual inflate. So I asked what happens if he flips and hits his head on something and gets knocked unconcious...no inflate, not good...The recharge CO2's are kinda pricey for them...
  21. Just picked up an ocean kayak trident 11 for myself. I'll let you know how awesome kayak fishing will be in a couple months.
  22. You can put in boats at Simpson Park, Unger Park, and Creve Couer. All allow electric motors too...
  23. It kind of stinks you can't put a small boat, kayak, or canoe in Prairie because it's kind of big to fish from the bank and be able to get to all the water.
  24. Long story to ensue... So we have this bonus system at my work where if we reach a certain goal each quarter we receive "points" that are added to a website that has items you can put your points towards to order. Last year we hit the highest goal each quarter so we got maximum points possible, and in addition they awarded a 10,000 point bonus for accomplishing that feat all year long. In this online catalog of things to get was an Ocean Kayak Prowler Trident 11 angler kayak and it was well within my point total to get so that's what I ordered on January 31st. I get a call from a guy two days later and he procedes to tell me that OK has discontinued the Prowler Trident series of kayaks and has split them into two different models, the Prowler T's and the Tridents (pretty much the only difference between the two is the Tridents come with a better "Rod Pod" hatch lid that has places to mount accessories, and it actually comes with a rod holder to put in it.) He then tells me that I will be receiving the Prowler 11T instead of the Prowler Trident 11 like I had ordered. I said that's fine and go ahead and send it, and he said I would receive a call from the shipping company in 7-10 days to set up a delivery date. I received that call yesterday and set up the delivery for today since my dad was going to be here while some construction was going on in my basement. Then I get a call from him saying that the driver was there to drop off. And this is what I found in my garage An Ocean Kayak Trident 11 He then asks me if it was only supposed to be 1 kayak or two. I said only one. And this is what ended up in my garage An Ocean Kayak Prower 11T I wasn't arguing as they were both shipped in my name and had "1 of 2" and "2 of 2" on the outside of them. Oops...someone made a mistake and I have 2 kayaks now...BONUS!!! An early birthday present to my wife...
  25. Anyone heard about this kind of rig? Looks interesting and has tons of action.
