  1. I'm down for a grand trip. Be ready for the out of state sticker shock on the license! Lol. But yea absolutely we can make a trip to grand. If it wasn't for taking my boys to do some dropshotting around the bridges at Stockton Saturday I'd be there this weekend. They are bent on going to Stockton though. It also worked out to where I'm meeting a gentleman up there that has lots of questions about side imaging and gps before he buys his first unit. So I'm going to give him a boat ride and try to answer his questions hopefully.
  2. I like it. It's gonna need a big feathered treble. I like the idea of being able to orbit this thing.
  3. 580p's are plastic and are what both my pairs are.
  4. We recently had a similar discussion sorta. I'm not sure if you ran acrossed it. I like amber a lot especially for site fishing. I did buy some blue mirrors this year for brighter days because I fight headaches pretty bad so any relief is good. One gentleman suggested I try green mirror. Now I don't know if it would be the best all around but he liked them on bright days. So in my experience so far the ambers are good all around lenses but can stand to cut more light on bright summer days. Again my eyes are sensitive to that and I cannot stand to be outside without glasses at all. The blue mirrors are great but I haven't used them site fishing yet so to say they are good all around lenses is still up in the air. You can't go wrong with ambers though especially if you are really sensitive to light. I hope this helps. Btw if we bump into each other again you're more than welcome to try mine out.
  5. Praying for your friend Mitch.
  6. Shoot I just noticed the date on there. Sorry about that. My best piece of advice is cover as much water before the circus starts lol.
  7. They're pretty scattered right now. 3-25'. Rock ledge type stuff one day then brush piles the next. Keep moving. Brush jig, football jig, big worm, square bill, big crankbait, spook, buzzbait, soft plastic swimbait etc. Not exactly a stellar report I know but that's kinda how it is. Keep moving until you can slow down. If you get a bite try to get another in the some area. If I had to dial in a little better I'd say the brown football jig is what I'd have in my hand most today if I were there.
  8. Just freeze'm. I'll pick them up next time I'm down.

Wow. More speed is always more betterer, especially when you figure it has to compensate for the added weight. I'm glad you are happy with them. It's definitely not a small purchase. I rode in a power pole boat yesterday and theirs now doubt talons are quieter. Not only the actual movement but the poles splashing in and out of the water. The poles advantage is getting out of the way of course. This fall fishing windy flats and next spring you will really love having them. I look forward to upgrading to a setup like yours.
  10. How have you been Mr. Randy?

How are the talons treating you
  12. Exactly. It's not the disagreeing. It's the fact that WE GET IT ALREADY. That dead horse is so beat now it's not even good for glue. I'm fine with disagreeing and discussing but provoking and bullying is not ok. If someone has a topic on there mind starting a topic is a good idea rather than wrecking someone else. Lastly don't feed the trolls. I get caught up in that myself.

    Spinnerbait? Are those still around?
  14. I use either a 3/8 or a 1/2. If I was going to be swimming them around docks like we do at grand I'd stay at 1/4. If you're fishing in brush piles specifically I like to peg my weight. Prices ugh. They stink. Some walmarts have strike king weights on sale for $3-5. Otherwise basically the best deals are on facebook fishing groups like bass baits buy and barter. Also theirs a person that sells them on texasfishingforum.com classifieds for a reasonable price. Most box store prices are absolutely ridiculous. This is slightly off topic but magicwormman from this forum sent me some hand pours a few weeks ago. They are very nice!
  15. I use power pro braid but never as a mainline for fishing bottom contact baits. That's just me. I'm a fluorocarbon guy. Now I have been using braid/flouro leader with on my spinning outfits and so far I like it. I use the uni to uni knot shown above by Spook to connect the two lines. It works great. Don't be afraid to trim the tags right down to the knot. Wrench is right on the weight. That might have been a touch light for deep water on a new to you outfit with that size of a worm. Another suggestion is tie on a jig. Jigs always have a better feel than plastic. If you are to Texas rig the worm I hiiiiighly suggest tungsten weights. Buying them feels like getting punched in the stomach by a 10yo girl that you didn't think could hit that hard. The benefit though is that the sensitivity with tungsten is mucho more betterer.
  16. I also would love being a marshal. Then I start thinking about stupid stuff like going to the bathroom and things like that and talk myself out of it. Nerves do not play well with me. I honestly wish I was one of the Dave Whites that threw up lol.
  17. I could bungee him to the talon too. That would get some looks.
  18. This crossed my mind. I guess that's all good depending on how long it is until I put it back on the trailer.
  19. Thank for all the advice guy! Very much appreciated.
  20. I wondered about bleeding them out. I'm glad you brought that up. When they cool of does heating them back up do any good or is it over after the first time it's hot? What texture do they have if you was to just fry it?
  21. Awesome! I'm pretty sure I saw my airbrush moving out the other day.
  22. Here's a review on the reel for those unfamiliar with it. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiwapx68.html
  23. Excellent light weight lure reel. One of the best. Great for pitching too. I prefer mag-v or 3d braking though so I'm letting this one go. $200 obo. Can get more pics if needed. Not perfect cosmetics but pretty good.
  24. May have to go all swap people on them and just shoot the darn things when they get close enough to the boat on the retrieve.
  25. If you are interested in Table Rock history at all I personally enjoyed the Tom Koob books a lot. Also the Barry county museum has some neat books on area history. That may not be what you're after though.
