Look at the weather channel temps for next Saturday

Washed my truck yesterday. Acid etched the back porch this morning in prep for painting it. I didn't think it would really rain so blame me if you want.

You know what time the boat leaves be here and be ready. Still say we all just need to meet up and have a morning of fishing and an afternoon of fish frying and lying.

The other Neat thing about PC would be the AGFC ability to stock it at multiple locations really giving the fish a chance. Put them in the Creek where it flows in from Lake Atlanta, or the Old Dirt Ramp or at Swim Beach. If they changed the stocking location it would give them a chance from striper and fishermen. Big problem with stocking them the same place is stripers learn that. I use to love being at Lake Skinner or Silverwood when the stocking truck pulled up. You knew within minutes the stripers would be attacking because they had learned every week on this day the truck would be there.

Fatal Shooting On The Meremac Near Steelville

Nope not a liberal your a REDNECK -
I don't know about that. If they stocked decent size trout 14'' to 18'' and typical snicker bar sized ones then I know the larger trout would. They use and still do it in Cali lakes and they have a great summer hold over fishery for trout. So it is possible, but even if they do not hold over I rather see the striper get them than poachers and at least in PC there are rangers.

No nothing Political in his post really but racial yes. Politics wouldn't be bad and I have had some good talks with people on here about political topics unfortunately there always has to be someone who trolls on in and turns a good discussion to trash. Are you Liberal Quill? Answer this what should the limit on walleye be and ill tell you if you are -
It is my Mission to put fishing back in fishing And in that mission if I have to use the Nuclear option of telling Parents how much fun it will be for the kids then I'm pressing the button Kids hooked on fishing beats kids hooked on video games and drugs!

They would live if they could get past the stripers. My honest reason for wanting them in the lake and specifically Prairie Creek is there is a large area of shore accessible to shore anglers, it is not near as easy to throw over the limit in a car or truck like at Lake Poachlanta, and in Beaver they could obtain some very large sizes if they survive the initial fishing pressure and the stripers. To me it would be a win for people and lake.
-
Need to stock trout in winter, I know a few AGFC people are reading this site... Prairie Creek would be a great place right next the swim beach would be great giving people a chance to catch them and maybe give a few the chance to get in the lake and grow big.

Go catch one and cook it yourself.

Fatal Shooting On The Meremac Near Steelville

Not true, Justin, there are many soldiers trained in Hand to Hand combat and many civilians who are as well. You really think a gun is not needed for someone to deal with someone trained how to use their body as a deadly weapon? Can you picture a 60 70 80 year old man trying to take on a person in their 20 30 40's in a hand to hand conflict? Should a person attempt to retreat? Common since would say yes but at the same time if a person is on their property why should they retreat from a criminal? how about a person physically unable to? How about this scenario, You are on your dock and a guy and his biddies have been drinking and they start an altercation with you (verbally) you attempt to retreat only to find several are now at your ramp blocking you and others coming from the river toward you. You call 911 but know its at minimum 5 minutes before they arrive. 5 minutes is your life! You have reasonable fear of your life and pull your weapon and fire ( this aint Hollywood people pull to kill outside of Hollywood movies ) This scenario could well be what happened yesterday as well. My biggest hope is that the people involved yesterday are not members here to see your first comments. If this is tensions we all know have been brewing for some time on our rivers then this might be the spark that finally makes the powers to be either shut down floating or actually get out there and make laws that protect the people using the waterways legally. Because if they do not it WILL happen again and again. -

Not what I would expect from you Justin, WOW is all I could say. What will happen if when more news comes out you find out the Floater was intoxicated ( very real possibility ) and He was throwing rocks and the Shooter and name calling escalated to anger and the Floater pulled a weapon and started at the Shooter and he pulled his weapon and fired? No one at this point knows any more than what's in the press release. -
Hey Doc, Picture the kids on the Bow hooked up to a Gar bigger than they are as its jumping around and making hard runs. Now if that doesn't get you out picture this. THE BIG SMILES on the kids faces during and after the fight. Yes I play dirty, but I know your weakness and that's the smiles on the kids faces... Have fun chasing Gar

If you think I don't have skunk days you are wrong, true they are not many but there is days I go home scratching my head, BUT those are the days that keep me coming back more than the days I load the boat with fish. I just don't report on the bad days lmao!!!! I haven't trained all the fish yet Wilson... Note: I said YET lol.

If they would stop tasting so good I would stop catching them

What makes a College team is the FANS, even as bad as Arkansas was last year they still had the fans in the stands ( well at least to start the games ) SEC football is not something Mizz understand in all aspects, I watched them last year and they just don't get it in any aspect from the play to the fans to the excitement factor. Im not knocking Mizz because I really believe it is in the school powers that be! A&M Got it they filled the stands, the days leading up to games were full of excitement and the team rose to the level of the SEC. Many schools across the Nation and Fans outside the SEC do not get the SEC. I try to explain to people the SEC is about so much more than just your team its about TEAM, then Other teams that help your team in the win lose then about the league and finally about the South. Ever notice when another conference is out of a Bowl or the other teams is out of contention the fans loose interest yet in the SEC the same situation the Fans pull for the SEC TEAM still in it. That is what makes the SEC not only a powerhouse for football but also money and recruits. If Mizz doesn't get it they will NEVER get the recruits or become a force in the SEC. It all starts with the fans and that starts at the school officials creating the hype creating the excitement and getting the fans in the game.

Fish Finder Training – Screenshots & Interpretations
Feathers and Fins replied to J-Doc's topic in General Angling Discussion
Keep your balls out of it lol. Im serious you are running your balls through the fish and that will spook them. Put a lure on that has the diving depth you need to get where the fish are and let it out 100 ft behind the boat and raise you balls up. If I am running a bait that has 0 diving depth I will let out as much as 300 ft of line behind it to try and counter the ball wash but prefer a bait that will run at least 10 to 15 ft below the ball. As to the pictures Looks like someone found a bunch of bass and possibly walleye. At the depths they are at drop-shot and spoon time -
This time of years its related to what I want to target. Striper its an early morning or evening trip. Crappie and Walleye I like to hit them late afternoon along shaded banks with long points that fall in to deeper water on the sides and off the point. Bass it has to be 10am to about 3pm in deep water either fish suspending under open water bait or over timber of some sort. Gar all day long in still water pockets. Catfish all day but I do a lot of running with live bait dropping it along rocks. The biggest problem is not so much heat this time of year or the sun but the boat traffic as the fish are always in the water but most of my approaches require precision and being able to stay on them and that's just to hard with constant wakes and people cutting right through where you are fishing.

The summer is not the best time to look for birds, but it is a good time to look for shad being pushed to the surface early and late, it does need to be calm though. This is the toughest time of year mostly because of pleasure boating putting the fish deep. I do have a trick that can be very productive and very unorthodox, get chicken liver and put it on a treble hook and drift with it about 50 ft out. It sounds weird but has saved many trips. I do not know why they like it but they do.

School Bus Program Reaches St. Charles County
Feathers and Fins replied to Mitch f's topic in General Chat
To this day my best friends are still my mom and dad. They molded me to who I am teaching me morals ethics and hard work. The best lesson they taught me was nothing given means as much as something earned! When I was young it was not just my parents but family and neighbors that all played a part in raising the kids. My best friend im 44 now as is he have been friends for 40 years we grew up getting our behinds attended to by each others parents and on occasion a neighbor especially during pomegranate or cumquat season Sunday meant family dinner and grandmas house and every other night was grace at home with my family. I really think family values have fallen away and I just don't understand why? But in my heart I believe this is what's wrong with todays society. Life is family, friends and the good lord to me. Teachers were extended family when I was growing up and cared about the kids and community, I suppose times evolve but sometimes not for the better. -
wait a minute!!!!!!! show off? you are the one who brought up hunting lol.

They are scattered all over the lake but the biggest concentrations are near the dam in summer. They roam all the time but seek out the cooler water of that area. School size varies of course, The bigger fish are more solitary without a doubt that's 25pounds or more where the smaller ones school more. It is very common to find a bunch of 10 to 15 pound fish in a large school. Its a lot of gut feelings based over years of chasing them to be honest. I learned to listen to my gut. Read my sonar and pay attention to the surface of the water and the sky above looking for anything that might give them away.
