Bferg. I look at it differently. Its a tournament as you say for fun and promote the community. Not exactly good PR for the community if cheating was done or even a cloud cast on it of possible cheating. It actually would place the community in a negative light for NOT taking steps to insure it was legitimate and all people had a fair chance. The negative PR generated could seriously affect the tournament and local business's for a long time to come and definitely keep more people from entering. I must admit I did not relies this tournament was formatted the way it is that's why I asked. I don't know if those two cheated or not, but even this small amount of doubt will keep me from ever thinking about fishing it even if its for fun. As to the bag weight, its a very possible bag if people were fishing open water targeting the big bass on the shad balls I have even said it a few times. So it is possible but very difficult and literally requires constantly moving hitting the one or two active fish on the ball. I do it trolling but seriously doubt I could do it in a tournament time frame with any other tactic. But a school of fish that size this time of year is very very unlikely IMO. Those are some big bass and the spawn is on and seems highly unlikely they would be schooled to that degree. Anything's possible I guess. Just hate to think scumbags would do it and hate the thought of what it would do to so many in the community who played fair.

Tormenting you Doc. LOL

I never fished Buddy tournaments for the reason they do nothing but promote cheating. I don't care who you are and how honest you are someone will always find a way around rules if its made easy for them to and You and I are the ones who suffer by being honest. If you fish a tournament that is for all purposes NO RULES and by that I mean someone checking to make sure its honest, then you will have cheaters. One of my favorite cheaters got busted after wining several tourneys by almost double digits. A few anglers followed him and his {buddy} with high power binos and caught them beaching the boat going over a hill and walking back with some monster bass. No one said anything but the next tourney there were several officials staked out at the hill. Nice farm pond over it and sure enough they walked over the hill picked up a basket with Bass in it. They went back to the boat and put them in BAM busted. Seen more than a few baskets under docks also and guys stuffing weights. The best tourney's check the live wells and NEVER allow buddy angling. Over the years I have heard many other stories and they all revolve around ( open / buddy ) events. Sad truly sad.

http://www.polygraph.com/media And upheld by the SCOTUS as not admissible in court. enough said about them

The Media seems to have forgotten their job is report the news not fuel the gossip. Guy nailed that part. I find the lack of coverage very Bias, Hardly hear anything on Fast and Furious heck I learned about it on the internet forums, Begoofedup where is the in depth reporting and digging for the truth to many things seem to me to be swept under the rug or if its not in the democrats interest not reported or even worse opinionated to influance people about the what the Media Opinion should be. I find it hard to beleive anything reported as fact anymore.

Its muddy from a few people I talked to today, Crappie are biting 12 bridge area very well.
-
Lake temp 64, wind North and light 5 to 10. water was 3 to 5 ft visability. 27 Crappie 8 were invited home 3 short walleye and 18 small striper rats. 12 ramp area and by that I mean I could see the ramp at all times. Crappie were in 5 to 9 fow suspended over 20 to 25 fow. Trolling the 5m flicker shad this time because of how shallow they were. The females still have eggs! They wanted a faster speed today!

Trolling For Begginers

Actually what my intent is, is to be able to hold the line in hand if needed to probe as close as possible to shore and brush on shore without spooking fish. Literally holding the line in hand and pull it of and let it in to probe areas. Offshore its no big deal, im trying to get a more stealthy and precision method down to find those onshore fish. -
Ok I have ate some strange things and know ive ate some stuff I don't want to really know what it was.... but that is not passing these lips!
-
Hey guys there is another thread on them.. and stripers never ever ever bite on top water at the the old hatchery and certainly did not do it this morning and some $#@#%%#@% would never call and text me pictures of it... BTW anyone want to not go to the hatchery this evening lol
-
Do a web search on the two of them together, makes ya go hmmm why aint these tow guys PRO'S because they seem to always place very high in tournaments.
-
So its a pure Honor Tournament then? Man that just spells troubles seen it to many times in the past.
-
Never fished the Chamber but have fished other tourneys like it. Question do they check live wells and do they have spotter boats during the tournament?
-
It was tough I got out at 1:30 and took me till 5 to find anything biting. Managed 6 Largemouth to 2 pounds off one point that I watched them busting shad on Out came the popper and got them before it shut down, pulled one decent white and 3 walleye all in 17''. That wind was brutal today made boat control next to impossible.

I thought about braid but have concerns about the snap not sliding all the way down as its not as slick. Other option I am seriously thinking about is just mounting some type of outrigger system I always liked how simplistic they were -
Negative on the top water bite info.

Brit we both know it comes down to $$$$$$$$$$ people want (quality fish) spots just are not what people would typically call quality. This area Bass and Bass fishing is KING remember Beaver was home to the first BASS Tournament. I see Walleye as the next big money fish for Beaver and I would not be surprised in 3 to 5 years to see a National Walleye Tournament on the lake then people will want to increase the population of them. All about the $$$$$ Conflict always rises when you talk about any fish other than BASS in a lake, I have never seen a conversation on any forum where Bass Fishermen didn't want to remove other predators / competition from a lake and doubt it ever will happen they want BASS BASS BASS BASS and more BASS. I use to be one of those guys I know I wanted Bass, now I don't put such a high value on them I learned a balanced eco system is more important and consequently improves size of all species and health of the fishery. But spots are IMO one of the most prolific species in Beaver and ( small no quality ) yet are eating machines. They need to be put in check and the Cats and Walters cant do it all so put a 10 fish limit on them and 0 size limit IMO from my experience on the lake will not hurt and possibly help the other species. I think the reason I support this move is growing up fishing Lake Perris, it was a good lake and held the World record for Alabama Spotted Bass, But the majority were always small a 2 pnd fish was a good one. Then somehow FL strains got put in there and size and quality went up interestingly I saw many anglers keeping spots. My dad says catching a Spot in the lake now is very rare. Most the LMB are now averaging 4lb class and many 10lb class fish each year. The smaller slower growing spots also destroyed the lakes shad population where the state had to supplement, now they don't and there are shad balls hundreds of yards long. I cant help but to think it was the removal of the spots that have helped the lake. I could be wrong but its funny that the missing ingredient is the spot. Two different lakes but sure wouldn't be harmful to try.

KJ, Didn't work out so well the lines to heavy and drags the boards, Back to the drawing board im thinking scale down to 50lb mono possibly. I love playing with different ways to catch fish. -
Clarity sucked, I did not mark anything fish wise in less that 20, we did catch a couple bass in 12 fow coming across points but they were more striper bait size than bass size lol. Seemed the majority have moved out to deeper water. My guess is the lake needs a couple days to settle down, my fish finder was picking up all kinds of static from the debris. Yes Ron we were trolling, more of a just get out trip than serious fishing but ended up producing a PB and that's always a good day.
-
Ok I snuck out tonight and managed a few nice LMB's to 4lbs and was watched my brother get his biggest eye ever at 8lbs. All fish were in 35fow biting in 18fow lakes messed up right lots of pollen and tons of debris BE VERY CAREFUL out there. I think ill hold off till tomorrow after the tourney or maybe even sunday and let the lake settle a bit.

No dice Seniors are out now. I dont care its been to good lately not to go so frustration here i come.. heck my even post some frustration pictures, might make people think twice seeing their mugs on the net for being rude.
-
LOL. Oh come on its not thaat bad. I will be out there, Just look for the boat with the Mounted 50's and Twin SAM batteries Either that or Im going to go mess with RPS walleye but that takes the frustration out of it lol... Doc this is the perfect weekend for you to learn how to troll. think of how not boring it will be with all that traffic.
-
Ive heard the same thing, sounds like at least 300 boats fishing it Saturday, May 11, 2013 22nd Annual Bradford Marine Buddy Bass Tournament Weigh-in at 2:00 p.m. Prairie Creek Park, Rogers, AR That mean PC will be packed to the gills I would avoid it at all cost. Tack on it looks like a very nice day and the "Hatch will be strong with this weekend" AKA Wake boats, ski boats, jet ski's and the lovely Pontoon Party Barges. It will be a high traffic weekend. 12 Bridge will be full im sure as will Hickory the Dam and The Brides, If your going to fish Saturday or Sunday for that matter use a smaller ramp area and Launch Early or after 3pm. Fishing should be very good with the run-off. for Bass in the back of creeks. Do not overlook banks with mud on them as the lake rises the food comes out. For the walleye and crappie where they have been lately is going to have lots of boats blowing past so be ready for wakes and people who cut way to close if you are trolling or trying to deep spoon or jig them. Best ramp options would be the old dirt road at PC Montne or someplace out of the way.

should be crowded but good
-
Ya looks like some areas got it even worse. Centerton I believe they said had 6'' that's a WOW. Did not hear what F-ville got and that will affect Beaver more than Rogers Area.
