I hope BA is out the rest of the year and AA is in. Little brother is a much better QB and has legs along with a good arm I am not sure why Bret didn't let him loose last night. I was hoping to see the AA for F-ville last night but was very surprised to see a game manager he has grown up and people better take notice of him.

Ness I would love it to be 12 Teams. Top two out of the playoffs go to the NC Runner Ups get the Rose Bowl Next two get the Cotton Next two the Sugar and finally the Fiesta Bowl Then the top 5 bowls would have the Top 10 teams last two teams get a bowl invite someplace and no bowl invites are issued till the playoffs are done.

I just re-read this thread and it reinforces why I love College Football. you never can predict it and always exciting. Who would have thought Arkansas would shut out LSU and Ole Miss, Or Mizz would be in control of their own destiny or Tenn coming on like they have or the Game Cocks in such miserable defense. Wow. I am more sure of this playoff stuff and not liking it, strength of schedule being the primary supposed " premise" Yet who has FL State really played and at that they have looked very bad the last few games where TCU has looked great, Miss St ok they should be there but Bama just hasn't looked like Bama or felt like they are champs. My pics for who it should be is #1 Miss St #2 TCU #3 Ohio st #4 Alabama Those 4 IMO have the best record based on strength of schedule and should be in it. I still think an 8 team playoff should be how it is and to that I give #5 Baylor #6 Georgia #7 Florida St #8 Oregon

No reason it wouldn't work Glen.

Its a little overkill Glen but the New Lews are real nice both baitcasting http://www.lews.com/casting-teamlewslite.php they are super light and would be great for crappie and with simple respooling bass and Striper. I put one to work earlier this year on a 20lb striper and it was very smooth we switched to crappie later in the day and still very nice. Price is way up there at 239.00 but IMO well worth it. First non-shimano reel I have liked in 20 years.

Glen you should see the great efforts he goes to to make sure no catfish can even get in the boat to slime it, rather amusing it is... Now that rod he is talking about is supper sweet though I may end up getting a couple.

Glen they move from time to time... Here is a real PITA Though... when I was doing construction in FL if a Osprey nest was on the property before you cleared it even if it hadn't been used in years you would have to put a new on up in its place... We had to put a telephone pole up with a plywood base and sides and hay in it to get the CO on the House -

Shooting an Eagle will get you in more trouble than having hemorrhoids on a non-stop flight from NY to Australia after eating 3 bowls of firehouse chili with the toilet broke. -

I never understood taking the last minute shots at dusk, Personally I have thought that hunting times for all game should end at 1/2 hour before sunset as it does in waterfowl. I like deer hunting and know it would take some prime time away but it does in waterfowling also. But it gives a person time to track the game and find it while still light or twilight at least. Blaming anything in nature for eating a free meal is just stupid but so is taking a shot when the odds of successfully tracking it due to light conditions is just as stupid IMO This thread really has gone more in to hunting ethics and you can probably ask 100 hunters what is ethical in their opinions and by the time its over you would be able to separate them in to the ( 6 STAGES OF A HUNTER ). For me it boils down to this 1. Have the skills needed a. Skill to call b. Skill to lure c. Skill to make clean shots d. Skill in proper game meat preservation e. Skill to cook it. 2. Knowledge a. Knowledge of the animals habits b. Knowledge to properly identify the species c. Knowledge of the Ballistics bow or gun I am using d. Knowledge of the Local area and its traditions e. Knowledge of the laws 3. Safety a. Being able to safely get to where you are going and back b. Being able to safely use your weapon c. Never taking and unsafe shot ( Know your target and what's beyond ) 4. Fair Chase a. Hunt the game in a manner that allows it to have a chance to avoid you ( no high fences ) b. Use of your skills in calling, decoying, concealment etc to make the cleanest kill shot possible. c. When a clean kill is not made NEVER stop looking for the animal till you have found and dispatched it quickly. 5. Pass it on This to me is the most important of all morals and ethics, passing on the heritage the knowledge and love for the outdoors to any and everyone who wishes to enjoy it. And to those who don't want to do it share the beauty of it and what we get to see and enjoy each day out from the Coffee with friends in the morning to the sight of the sunrise and life renewing each day and ask them if they would like to come along just to experience something more than the couch or recliner. Now as to the nuisance issue, there is definitely nuisance animals no doubt about it but many are made that way by mans actions. I kill the local geese in wholesale fashion with no regard for anything but the legal way to take them and the limit on them, No respect for what they have become but I also know they have become that way because of man. Park Geese / Resident geese to me are nothing more than cattle needing slaughter for a good meal or jerky.... But when the migrators come down my attitude changes quickly and I see again the beauty of wild birds the way they talk and fly and in general act and I respect them greatly. I bet the same could be said for Deer who live in the woods versus Park or City Deer and even Coons and Yotes. Man is the factor that makes some of them nuisances by our practices and actions. -

Here is the biggest issue I have with long range Yote shooting, People get killed when the Yote hunters get board and start shooting at other things or when they are just out trying to find things to shoot. If you cannot positively identify your target and what's beyond it the shot should NEVER be taken. -

Glen to be truthful they have a very bad rap because of the Media and Because people think its neat to leave trash laying around in cougar country and parks don't tend the trash cans like they should. Like I said my only negative experience was from one that had lost its fear of people and learned they mean food. Never one time in the wild did I ever feel threatened and that was long before I started working with big predators. I've had cats within yards of me that I never felt threatened by, even ran in to ones kits one day and just backed out momma never gave me more than a look. I would be more concerned with a pack of wolves than a cat ever. Yes I probably had good training from my mentors of not putting myself in a bad situation and never putting the animal in a defensive position but shouldn't all sportsman know that when they go in the field though? I just cannot see fearing any animal enough to shoot it on sight. Guy in a stand is not in danger if the cat is not coming up the tree, there is plenty of videos on youtube showing bears coming up a tree with a hunter in stand and they did not shoot it and no issue other than a real cool encounter. I wasn't there but for myself the danger had better have been real, clear and present. If his stand was 20 to 30 yards from the shot then he IMO was in NO danger. -

Glen, I am very comfortable around large animals and venomous ones. I am least comfortable around people. I know there is always a chance an animal can attack and you can watch for warning signs to help stay safe BUT a person will bite kick stab and all in the back when you are not looking. -

5bites; I do not hunt apex predators never have or will that includes Bear, I had a friend who shot a bear and we tried the meat several ways and the taste was horrid, I pride myself on making almost anything taste good and he is Cajun and lets face it they can make dung from an outhouse taste palatable in Gumbo and nothing we did could make it taste good. Shooting an animal for the hide or to brag I just cannot do it. Now all that said if it was a managed hunt for an older animal out of its prime and in no way contributing to the ongoing proliferation of the species I can understand that, still not for me but I understand it and can accept that as conservation. I did some research on this years back and at least in African big game the money and meat is utilized by the local villages ( meat certainly money well that is debatable if it does ). In North America Population control is needed for some of the animals I would like to see those hunts more ran like the AFRICAN Hunts where a PH is present and the targeted age group or problemed animals are the ones taken out. Brit; The long range I am on a fence with I hunt antelope and that range is very common so for them It is fine, but guys taking those shots on Deer, Elk and others does bother me for the reason it took years for me to hone my skills to make long range shots with a high degree of confidence under the right circumstances. I still pass up 8 to 9 out of 10 shots for a variety of reasons in those ranges but see all to many people take it. I watch a kid 3 years ago take an estimated 800 yard shot on an Mule Deer and missed by at least 20ft wide and 10ft low. Wind was blowing 15 to 20 with gust to 35 IMO that shot should never have been attempted. But here it is with TV and Youtube people trying to imitate their hero's of media! When we got back to the lodge that night the kid was sighting in his gun and I looked at it 270win. I didn't say anything but in retrospect I wish I had because that round should never be used for long range shooting imo. My 338 with that kind of wind would not be sent downrange but this seems to be as you said the Vogue thing and they try it, guess killing cactus and rocks is fun to. -
Skunks suck period.. There are Ducks Ducks Goose everyplace, I've made a few geese into roast and jerky the last couple days. Even cacklers are down here ( earliest I have ever seen them in Arkansas ) They were walking with our residents on the local park and the size difference is unmistakable. Mallards in the thousands mixed in with some scaup, cans, pintail and redheads even the goldeneye are already here. Get out there because they have arrived.

I am a confessed tree hugger, its difficult to get some stand anchored properly without hugging the tree. As for the Cat, My personal thoughts are the guy saw it and shot it and was not one bit afraid of it. I would guess the story was ( in defense ) for fear of warden issues. I grew up in Cat Country ( San Bernardino and Los Angeles ) Forrest amongst others in Cali, I ran in to cats often during quail and turkey season and NEVER had an altercation with them except for one time nearer a subdivision the Cat had been seen in getting in peoples trash and cat/dog food. The Wild cats I would know when they were present that 6th since would kick in but after spotting them it passed and the cat typically just went its way. I would never have thought about and never will think about shooting an apex predator unless threatened and it would have to be a legitimate threat to me as in charging. But sitting in a stand seeing it walking near to me is not a threat in any way shape or form.... It would be to me a chance to experience something truly amazing and beautiful. -

Now that right there is funny. If I was God I wouldn't have ever let J-doc catch a bigger Crappie then me out the back of my own boat lol. -
I would pass unless you are going to be out of there before the Game traffic.... It might be very good fishing but if it snows the roads will be dangerous, add in game traffic and Dickson traffic might be deadly. Good luck if you go.

If you hear BANG BANG Sunday your not being shot at, But if I see you and the geese are in the right line I might send an Unagry Bird falling near you lol.

I am a lowrance guy and know its system very well and I wouldn't change for that reason, I have already gone through the learning curve and don't care to repeat it. That said this is what I would do in your position. 1. Go with a HDS Gen 2 7'' on the console as they are on sale at Cabelas right now according to the website for 899.00 so 990.00 with tax. 2. Go with the HDS Gen 2 5'' on the bow same reason they are on sale for 499.00 so 550.00 with tax. $1,540.00 for the two units Or another option is to go with the new elite 7 on the bow with the Chirp sonar technology for 649.00 If you ever wanted the networking between units you couldn't do it with the chirp thought. networking is great for using maps sharing waypoints between the two units and you may find after using the mapping features you really like it. If you go with the 1,540.00 options you can take the rest of the money and buy a beautiful set of cast iron pots and pans

He is either single or has an understanding wife to allow them on the good table cloth..... And before J-doc says a word Its not me I don't have a table cloth on my table and though my wife allows all but geese to be cleaned in the house putting them on one of her good table cloths would be over the line lol.
