I was hunting midlake, I know better than to go near War Eagle on opener its a madhouse most years. I want hunting from my boat but it was maybe 150ft away being used as a blocker to another mudflat. Just put up the blind sit back drink coffee and shoot the breeze with Yakfm ( I think I got another convert to waterfowling lol ). When done put stuff on boat and start trolling, so it was cast and blast. Yak saw why I go with a fast set-up we found some teal working a point and I pulled in around it and in less than 5 minutes was set-up for them ( they never returned though ) but being versatile is the key to success IMO.

Justin there is a solution but most Americans and other in the world have no appetite for it. In War the objective is suppose to be total victory and that is fairly obvious when facing another country with borders and a military, you conquer them. With terrorist there is no "country or borders" and truthfully I do not think of it as a war, nor is it manhunts for criminals. I would call it a World Security Issue that all countries should view the same. Politicians politic and this is a time when the solution is simple but far from ( hands not bloodied ) Simply obliterate from the face of the planet all cities, towns, nomad villages where these terrorist are. Next make it know this is not going to be a capture mission but a ter

Robert, I hear that a lot and will tell you the same thing I tell everyone else. If you take care of it when you shoot it, clean it and prep it right you wont be able to tell the difference between goose and roast. I will even PM you the next day I am working and you can swing by the store and try some Goose Jerky. It really is in taking care of the meat and most hunters I hate to say it have no clue how to properly take care of fowl. Everyone knows to Cut the Deer or Rabbit to cool the meat but most will just throw the fowl in vest or lanyard and forget about it and then when they get home the pluck and clean it letting those fermented juices get on the breast and legs tainting the meat. Except for teal which I just rip the breast out of I fillet all my other waterfowl so as to not get that fermented juices on. And early Season an Icechest is mandatory after shooting birds to keep them cool.

How Far Do You Usually Run From The Ramp Where You Launched?
Feathers and Fins replied to JohnF52's topic in Beaver Lake
Launching at PC area I will run to the dam or as far upriver as I need to. I do go to Rocky branch by trailer though and on occasion Monte Ne. -
Ya hobby lobby a whopping 40 bucks and I have a bunch more still to add. The furthest teal was 45 feet yesterday so it definitely works and breaks up the wind nicely. Total weight per panel is maybe 5lbs. I think I have a whopping 25 bucks in to each double panel. 3'6 x3'6 panels, quickly makes a two man blind Britt

1.25 miles south of 12 bridge is Beaver shores. I have a friend who lives there and I launch there many days for travels up river and to the dam, I actually like the ramp there more than PC or 12 Bridge as a rule. I can be at pt 12 in roughly 15 to 20 minutes and Rocky Branch point 4 area in about the same so it puts you in a great position for year round fishing. Do a keyword search for ( Beaver Shorers and or 12 bridge ) for what you will catch and its pretty much everything. Hunting depending on what you are looking for its a short drive to the WMA by boat or car, And what's real nice your still close enough to town for convenience but far enough out to have that country feeling and the big secret of Rogers is the downtown restaurants and never forget JJ's

Quill, they still don't have a good Defensive secondary and missed a bunch of primary tackles. The SEC teams are going to eat up the D-fence. Hogs O-line is looking good and they will ( if they don't have the hogs typical self implosion ) control the game clock for sure. But if the other team has a good air game or goo o-line with RB's we wont win. TAMU will be our first real good test of this, if they keep it close I would be happy. I am seeing a lot of improvement and Coach B may well have been the penicillin the Hogs needed, Im still holding judgment for another couple years, He still has no SEC wins and a lot of work in Defense and if he just builds the o-line and tries to play Wisconsin ball in the sec without that D he wont last long.

Bfishn, believe it or not many people were highly upset at NASA for the moon landing interrupting "I Love Lucy" I kid you not.

I couldn't have asked for better, Cold Morning, Hot Coffee, Good Friend and Birds to be had. Managed to get 5 and should have had my limit but had more than enough for a good dinner last night. Today im resting up taking the wife to lunch and then probably kidnapping her for an evening shoot with another hunt with a good buddy tomorrow. I had a project I started earlier this week as the lake is way down and no cover near the water. We had some trellis from some vines we were trying to grow but they never took off so they were volunteered for repurposing. Tack on some old burlap and a quick trip to hobby lobby and instant very light and portable blinds that work great. Here is the blind It completely folds for easy transport and storage and they also link together. \ One of the intended uses of the new blind is it perfectly holds birds for pictures, here is 4 of the 5 I think im going to add some lanyard straps to it lol.

Awesome, glad you had a good time a cold morning good coffee and a four legged friend always makes it better

OP, that is so true. I hate to say it but there are many days I just look at the shape of the country from economics to quality of life and the divisions keep growing further apart.

If you know where springs are you can catch fish but don't expect more than 8 to 10 bites. If there is a good shad die-off spoon bites are always good on bright sunny days. And finally the Ned is good on the deep in of flats or drop offs in 30+ feet of water. Its a tough time to fish but you can get a few but be prepared to fish slow.

Nathan ; From AGFC Regs. Motorized Vehicles Hunting from Motorized Vehicles It is illegal to hunt from a motorized boat or sailboat, unless the motor has been completely shut off and/or the sails furled, and its progress from those means has ceased. It is illegal to hunt migratory birds from any motor-driven land vehicle or aircraft of any kind. Paraplegics and persons missing one or both legs may hunt from a stationary motor-driven land vehicle.

Spoon I don't think anyone is defending Ray, he admitted what he did long ago, I think they are lashing out at the NFL for its action or lack there of and it just appears that it is support of him. I keep hearing "double jeopardy" brought up in the conversations and the fact is though the courts at this point cannot touch him due to his plea agreement the NFL is not the courts and not under any constitutional restrictions. But he does have a case as he was given a penalty by the NFL then they went back on it and terminated him basically and as more comes out they did so under very suspicious circumstances and that is why people are getting mad imo.

Stripers are at Rocky Branch no doubt about that.

September 12th 2014 Bass; Good topwater action prior to this front on main lake hump and point tips in the 15 to 20ft depth, Zara-Puppy, Pop-r and Spybaits working well. The fish have been hitting the surface from sunrise until about 10am. Drop-shotting on these same areas is very productive. Stripers, White Bass and Hybrids: HOT BITE Rocky Branch! Schools of stripers from the back ramp out to the island and the East shore of Larue. Live bait is working as is the “New Flicker Minnows” Flicker shad and Rapala SR7’s and 9’s. Crappie; Look for crappie over flats using spider rigs and trolling Road Runners and Flicker Shad in 12 to 17ft. Walleye; Crawler Harness and Flicker Minnow in 20 to 30ft over flats and main lake points, Coppermine to Rocky Branch are the best area’s. These reports were all pre-front reports, but ALL accounts are saying there is a lot of fish to be had and are biting in the area from Coppermine to Rocky Branch with Rocky Branch being best.

Yes I saw them I said it a few times now, I also said in viewing them he was backing up in the video TMZ released and she came at him, That makes her the aggressor! I also read the police report and posted them to this thread the one that charged both of them with assault, Why was charges then dropped against her ( Because she is a woman and a man shouldn't hit a woman? ) Assault is Assault period. From the initial police report both of them should have been charged and were, then the DA drops them against her and goes after felony on him, Did that happen because he was a celebrity and they wanted to make an example of him? As to spitting on her until that's proven its a rumor. Indefinite suspension was not the league policy at the time and still isn't as they said first offense is 2 games. There was no trial and wont be unless he violates the terms of his deal so we may never know what really happened other than what's in the police reports and what RR has stated. Again in case you didn't see it as you seem to be getting a little hot ( I'm playing devils advocate here ).
