Fisher; I wish you would have come over, Also wish I could have been more helpful on where to get a battery but that was the only place I knew of close by. The reason I was circling that one area you saw me on with the spider-rig and spooning was there is a few small rocks there walleye like to hang out on but they can be real pains to get to bite sometimes try it next time you are there, they are small only coming up a few feet but you can see them on the graph.

James, versatility is the trademark of a good fisherman. In any given day I will probably use at least 3 if not more methods. Trolling is but one and is dictated by the species and the conditions just like any other type of fishing is. It is actually a real good feeling when I see someone tell me that my reports have helped, it is even better seeing other members reports help others catch fish. That is what this forum really should be about HELPING others with Baits, Locations, Times, Conditions and answering questions to help both new and old comers catch more fish and enjoy the day. A funny side effect of helping others is they return the favor often times building lasting friendships. Even more helpful is when you are on the water those relationships can help turn a bust in to a day of plenty with a simple text or phone call. I actually have gone back and read the reports the last few months from various posters to the Beaver Lake Section and have found numerous methods used and discussed. Yet just like in the striper thread you again make a statement with simple checking proves to not be the fact. It’s like you just have to jump in a thread to try and stir the pot. How about taking some time away from those “great bass lakes” of Grand and Tablerock and spend some time on Beaver and then post some bass reports with detailed information on where you fished and what and the style and technique used to help others figure out a very tough lake. I personally do not bass fish that often as I do enjoy targeting multiple species and it seems you really do enjoy bass fishing and your insight could be very helpful to others if you would take the time to do it and share it. There is certainly a lacking in Bass fishing reports in the Beaver Lake section. I believe it is from a few different reasons. First is tournament anglers do not like to divulge anything! They could be catching them in an outhouse and still not tell. Second is Beaver really lends itself to multiple species which people find appealing and third is it is a tough bass lake but I believe it is tough for people because no one wants to discuss it and report on it, see reason #1. It would be nice to have reports but you need people who Bass fish to make the reports happen. You bass fish so how about it?

Huh interesting had to go back and reread the post said NOT TROLLING had to Spider-rig and Jigging spoon.

Wave generated wind I use to my advantage. I find stretches preferably 1/2 mile to 1 mile stretched that run North South or East West and play the wind. For instance a North or South wing I will fish Beaver shores going into or against it when I find the direction the fish are biting in best I check my speed. I then duplicate it going the other direction. Often times people wonder why they bite one way and not the other and its more times than not the speed. Speed is easy to duplicate by dropping the electric motor to increase against the wind or decrease with the wind which creates strikes in both directions.

It isn't a big problem, 12 Bridge is just a reference point, there are plenty of areas that are semi-sheltered you can get in if you need to. As for getting swamped it takes a big boat or a complete jerk to do it and yes it can happen but if you see either pointing your nose at the wake will help prevent it. I have however been getting off the lake earlier than I like lately as it seems more and more wake boats blasting music and throwing those wakes are showing up and I just prefer not to have to hear their music from and deal with the wake. I wish AGFC, ACE and Sherriff would crack down on it a few tickets and word of mouth would go a long way.

I don't buy the Pit is evil argument I blame the owner. Here is a great case in point.. 3 attacks by the same dog and its still breathing? WHY? I have seen Labs in the wrong persons hands that were more dangerous than some pits I have been around, Breeding may well play in to it to some degree but in most cases I would bet its the owner to a large degree.

Drifting Night Crawlers On Lake Taneycomo ~ Video
Feathers and Fins replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
I use these in 6 and 8 http://www.basspro.com/Eagle-Claw-Lazer-Sharp-Snelled-Circle-Sea-Hooks/product/1202180501038/ -
Please I beg everyone keep the whites! Morning started off FOGGY which made trolling to dangerous IMO, so I went with the spider rig and jigging spoon, caught a bunch of small whites and a few buck crappie. After the fog burned off it was next to impossible to get through the whites anything from " I cant believe you ate my bait small to You would go home accept I want crappie ". 12 Bridge, Beaver Shores and the Islands were sacked in with them. I did manage to pick off a few crappie and walleye for dinner but it was tough getting through the whites.

Interesting it was the following school and not the one at the edge of bait. -
Screen Shot Just Before The Striper Hit
Feathers and Fins replied to zarraspook's topic in Beaver Lake
If you really want to understand the Side-scan take a screen shot and fold it in the middle at about a 22.5 degree angle so the sides are laying flat but the middle is raised to that degree, that is approximately how it would be in real time. Center is straight up and down and doesn't show for about the first 10ft. Looking at the shots above I would say a rod on the left side of the boat set back about 50ft was the one that got hit. -

Freeline one bait small split shot the other, The one that produces set the second up that way... But always have a bait pinned on a hook resting in the livewell incase of immediate need. -

Exactly what im saying.... There is other methods to do this but I don't want to get the Mast system or other variants of it as I don't run them enough to warrant it. But here is a Youtube to give you an Idea http://youtu.be/y1ZwLd2pBc4 -
Great Observation Taylor, I remember when I first fished the Big O, I thought it was going to be easy and load up on bass, lord knows all the shows and pictures were out there and I was way to overconfident and arrogant. I mean come on I had numerous 8 to 10lb LMB's and a few in the teens even I knew how to bass fish I smacked them in Cali and knew what I was doing. OH but I was greatly humbled by that first trip and had to learn new techniques and presentations after 5 years I could catch bass regularly on it and thought I had Florida figured out so went to Stick Marsh farm pond 13 and again was humbled. To me its those humbling days that really drive me and even more they have taught me a fish is much smarter than I am and never get over confident and arrogance is really just a better way to spell FOOL.

What a horrible problem to have being delayed due to the man in the striped suit lol.. sounds like a good trip. Flicker shad are at Hook Line and Sinker... Go buy them all so I can harass Aaron some more Cabelas has some as well but the better colors are at HLS, for some stupid reason Cabelas wont carry the Avocado or the Pearl White.

Need Some Help, Guidence, Tips Etc With Planer Boards
Feathers and Fins replied to Luckyj's topic in Beaver Lake
I typically put the bait 50 feet behind the board with a swivel and bead 5ft above the bait. If I find the fish especially fickle I employ a second rod to the board and the 50ft leader to the clip for a clean break away. Whenever you use a crankbait on a planer or just trolling you want to be sure it reaches maximum diving depth. -
I gave this more thought last night and the more I think about it the more I think it has to do with TV, Magazines and other publications on what a person is “suppose to do” at a give time of year. I think people get conditioned to what is the “Accepted” method and get locked in to it. The other is people get locked in to a confidence style of fishing and wont adjust to what the conditions give them. The Ned-rig is especially productive yet I can’t think of the last time I heard it was the tournament winning bait; I have jigged up some very large bags with a jigging spoon but can’t think of the last time I heard of a spoon winning a tournament and so on. Comparing Beaver to tablerock of grand is like comparing and apple to an orange they are very different lakes. Yet people want to talk about them in compare to Beaver. How do you compare lakes with multiple rivers flowing in to them against a lake with only one major river? How do you compare lakes with a constant current to one that is not? Reading the above post tells me Beaver is a respectable to good bass lake if a person takes the time to learn it and be versatile or think outside the norm, which honestly is how the most productive guys catch fish. Look at Davis on the Rock this year, he went against the norms and did very well and now across the country people are doing what he did.
