  1. LMAO, It never stops amazing me how when someone catches and ungodly amount of fish someone has to pipe up about not believing them. Instead of piping up people should stop and read how the person is doing it and try to learn from it! Joe just an FYI Everyone is saying how tough Beaver is right now but I put over 100 fish in the boat Sunday, It was so good I called J-doc ( he was busy ) I called WC and he came and I called Nick P out who I took with me in my boat. Nick and I put 34 fish in the boat in about an hour and half. There were other boats there and they were NOT catching hardly a thing. Guess what they were spooning also. Thing is Nick and I found a pattern they would bite on and we took full advantage of it, the other boats didn't. I don't think calling someone a liar is a smart move it could easily put them off from posting and trying to help people in the future. I do believe you owe Ham an apology.
  2. Grilled striper is good but there are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many ways to cook it.
  3. Mine is gone but still have an entire fillet left just need to figure out how to cook it, Im thinking grilled
  4. The Sas you can get at the gas station on Newhope across the street from Wal-greens... And where is mine!!!!!!
  5. Yes sir verified by bioligist... If the GL freeze next year I will be looking for them, J-doc got to see a flock of Seacoots himself get up saturday morning. All i could think about was my taxidermist bill lol
  6. Beaver has had a few Pelicans on it most of this winter. It also has Oldsquaw and Surf scoters on it right now. The Great Lakes are 80%+ frozen over and there are lots of interesting things down right now I even saw a Snowy Owl the other day. Global warming my rear end.
  7. How did that work out for you and the ice though lmao hahahaha
  8. Hey its more sane than some football superstitions lol. You do what you got to do.
  9. It must be done after dark on the shores of the lake, Participants must be naked and painted in blue and black with a roaring fire burning for warmth, You must then sacrifice the virgin ( typically a carp ) and then run with it and jump in the lake regardless of temperature.

  11. LMAO you two have sat with me in my boat plenty of times tell me what im doing so different.
  12. LMAO. Nick is a believer in the sacrifice now im betting... Hey I actually worked for those fish I had to stand on the front of my boat and jig for them.. Ok the secret was we just let the spoon sit on the bottom and they picked it up.
  13. I sacrifice virgins before every trip to the kraken to appease Poseidon
  14. White and Stripers Water temp 38ish Clarity stained 2 to 3ft at most wind light out of the north Bait, 1/2oz 1/4oz jigging spoons Location. Horseshoe Bend Depth 20 to 35 fow Ice on yesterdays striper spot in the morning washed that out so I tried for walleye and Bass for a while to no avail about 12pm the ice melted so I went looking in the striper spot and marked massive schools of fish, dropped a jigging spoon down and instant White about 3.5pnds next drop was a striper 19'' and it just kept up. I called WC and had him come play and called Nick as well, I took Nick out in my boat and we put 10 whites and 24 stripers ( barely shorts ) in the boat in about an hour and half, we lost a real nice striper at the boat and had a few strike-outs and one very creative white that somehow managed to wrap the prop several times. Great day and these are some fatty whites. Nick has some nice pics he can post when he gets home. But here is a teaser.
  15. Those were stripers,, I didn't get any pics of all the other marks. Might be a great year at FLW and just for us regular Joe's as well.
  16. I actually only have one bucket list hunt and that's to go to Mass and hunt sea ducks and the great marsh with a friend of mine who lives there. Other than that im with Chris on everytime im out its a bucket lister.
  17. As fresh as it gets. Preheat oven 3 to 350. 1.Put 2 cups Apple-cider in a medium pan and bring to a boil. 2.Insert Striper fillet and cook for 6 minutes 3minutes per side. Now take olive oil and brush on aluminum foil in pan. Place stripers on it and liberally poor olive oil over the meat Add spices. In this case it was Smoke paprika Diced onion Pepper Crushed lemon peal Salt Diced chives Diced cilantro Powdered mustard Bake for 20 minutes and serve.
  18. Quill there were lots of other marks around probably mix of walleye and bass. Im still amazed at how shallow they were, everything we marked was between 15 and 30 fow pretty much.
  19. looks like the spine of a fish left over.
  20. And you discovered you liked DUCK... Thanks to Marty ( billethead ) and his miraculous BBQ Sauce lol.
  21. Jdp, welcome.... If you fished clearlake you will be able to fish many of these lakes and catfish Oklahoma is known for and has plenty to spare.
  22. Took J-doc out today for some grocery shopping, Im not sure about him and Joe and the man-hugs in the parking lot but good guys and fishermen. JOE YOUR LATE. Ok on the report launched around 8am. There was ice in many of the coves this morning nothing I could not get through but be careful in fiberglass boats. We checked a couple of my go to spots first and marked fish in surprisingly shallow water but no taker so we decided to move on to another go to Grocery Isle and it didn't take lone and both our rods went bendo at the same time. Doc finally lost his cherry and boated a nice 15lb striper I lost mine at the boat. A couple passes later I connected again and 20lbs was in the boat. When I cleaned mine it was full of shad 1.5'' to 3'' size. Water was 36 to 39 and stained. Bait of choice were flicker shad, Doc had to be home early so we were off the water before 2pm but that was cool the wind was howling far harder than the weatherman said it would and without good boat control it was over for the bite. Anyway here is Docs first striper We call him the Blue Bigfoot lol. Then came my girl When I say we found them I was not kidding My advise is if you can. . .GOOOOO... 12 TO 30FOW troll the flickers and have fun.
  23. If you want eagles Gravitt Arkansas is loaded with them but no fishing to be had.
  24. Knives of Alaska Wrench..... They are awesome, Ive been conducting a very Scihuntific study the last three years on how many geese and fish I can clean with the same fillet knife before it needs to be sharpened. I have hunted and fished all my life. The only fish I have ever quickly dispatched were Sharks and Wahoo. everything else fit in the ice chest and I never thought or cared about it. Hunting I quickly dispatch them. It is a real pain in the butt to have a bird come back to life when your flying down the lake or road and even worse is an Antelope get up in the back of your truck and try and get away.
