Will Corps Launches Remain Open If There's A Shutdown?
Feathers and Fins replied to Quillback's topic in Table Rock Lake
This is absolutely the Fault and responsibility of the Democrats! Sorry boys and girls the truth by their own words out of their mouths cannot be ignored. They were betting like the last shutdown the Republicans would be blamed but when I hear from Harry Reid and Barry the King they will not compromise they will not talk it is their way or the highway and they call repubs terrorist, I WILL NOT APPOLOGISE for laying the blame clearly on them! So for me MARK PRYOR IS GONE next election. The words and actions demand it. I was initially pissed at all of them but when I hear the comments from the dems it is clear to me where to place the larger share of the blame, All are to blame but they went over a line, You do not call your fellow congressmen terrorist and the other assorted names. -
Oh Brother, They Shut The Web Down Too....
Feathers and Fins replied to jdmidwest's topic in General Angling Discussion
I will tell you who is getting the blame, I have been reading the Facebook pages for the Politicians and the most comments are this. 1. If Obamacare is so good for all of us then remove exemptions for CONGRESS, BIG BUSINESS AND GOVERMENT EMPLOYEES'S you make the law it is the law for everyone. that's on democrats, republicans and tea party politicians facebooks. I do believe that with the internet this time around the ones who will be blamed for this if it goes on will be Democrats which shocked me but also reading the post people were extremely angered at the name calling the dems were doing. If its a short term shut down republicans will get the blame but a long term the dems will get it as now finally more and more Mainstream Media are actually reporting on all the exemptions to government and business being handed out and yet the average Joe has to abide by this mess. -
Corps Launches To Close If There's A Government Shutdown!

Here is what gets me, Obamacare is what has forced this issue ok we all get that and we all know the poll numbers show how much the American people didn't want it and it was shoved down our throats, We all get it. But there was and is a solution to it not one politicians has brought up...... Bear with me this post isn't just about another tax..... Ok the STATES have the right to Add Amendments to the constitution. The states could have put in an amendment to strip Obamacare out. The states can also place in a few amendments to set TERM LIMITS, PAY FOR CONGRESS AND FORCE THEM TO ABIDE BY LAWS THEY MAKE. Yes States have the power but never have used it. WHY NOT? Answer is no politicians would ever want the PEOPLE to make the laws it does not serve their interest in fact forces them to do what WE want. -
Depends on where they are shipping from and to JD, Typically they will bag them up and then place them in crates that have separation chambers to prevent biting each other. Then dependent on where they are shipping to or from they will pack either heat packs or cold packs. They take in to consideration the flight of the transport plane, say its going from Malaysia to Miami but they have a stop in Alaska they will pack in heat packs to protect the animals from the cold during offload time in AK. Surviving is pretty easy its a 1 to 2 day trip normally and reptiles as a rule do not need to eat or drink for much longer periods of time. The true problem is how they were taken care after collection. Many times we had animals come in very poor shape full of parasites and severely dehydrated or malnourished. That is when the real work started! We would have a trash can full of water and Pedi light and put them in there for some time to allow them to drink and rehydrate. After it was multiple courses of treatments for parasites and feeding. Some animals didn't survive even with that care as they were held to long without proper care in the collectors facility or they were not in good shape when captured or any number of other reasons. Many species required tube feeding several times to get them back to health and some required as long as a year to get back to shape. It is not something your average keeper/ home hobbyist would ever need to do thank goodness as tube feeding venomous reptiles is not a fun day. It is however something I wish people that hate snakes or fear them or just hobbyist should have to see. It would make people feel sorry for these magnificent animals and perhaps put more thought in to keeping them alive.

No, Florida has the strictest venomous keeping laws for civillians of states that allow venomous keeping. Yes there are some law breakers that have them without the permit but the keepers that are legal are very vocal about how good the permit is and how well it has kept problems like release from happening. Not many people who work that hard for a permit would be willing to risk it and most despise people who do keep illegally. I have always been supportive for anyone wishing to keep venomous or large constrictors to be required to be permitted and under the criteria for the Venomous permit. I would not be suprised of anything being found down there, hurricanes released a great many animals ( specifically Andrew ) tack on parents who discover the cute 2 foot burm became 8 ft very fast and they relase it just added to the problem Personally I was very happy to work with any venomous snake over a constrictor, there is a cure for envenomation but none for asphyxiation.

Corps Launches To Close If There's A Government Shutdown!
Feathers and Fins replied to Quillback's topic in Beaver Lake
Yup JD it is the 17th of October that will be interesting, if we are still in shut down at that point then it will get interesting. This is nothing more IMO than political theatrics again. But come the 17th it gets real and fast. -
She was fresh in off the boat, after her shed she was spectacular, I always liked getting new shipments in. funny thing is you never knew for sure what was in the bag unless it was triple bagged then you knew it was a mamba. The collectors were very scared of them in Africa and it showed in the bagging. Gabs and Rhino vipers were easy to tell, touch bag and if it sounded like a fire breathing dragon you knew it was one of them.

Its a gaboon viper and one of the largest I have seen, No alcohol just bad picture and both of us were very concentrated on the business end of that one she had a temper. I wish I had all my old pictures I was able to work with some very rare and exotic reptiles some were stunning in color others were super rare and just neat to see.

Maybe not to the Marina but remember the ramp is a separate road they could close. I hope not ( not like anyone is there anyway ) but bathrooms would be closed for sure and all camp sites. -

With you 100% Justin, this Targeting crap needs to go the penalty stands even if the ejection is overturned which should mean no penalty and I have seen several games it has taken 3rd and long and turned it to 1st and then the team goes on to score which if it had not stood would have been a turnover on downs/punt. Worse rule ever and has screwed up several games.

Wayne with 128 D-1 school in football there is not one rating system that will ever be even remotely accurate or fair. Human error will never be good and computers will never take in to account for heart of players and team effort. A loss sometimes is a win and a computer will never know or understand that. With 10 conferences plus the independents getting an accurate ranking is possible however to do that it would take more brains then the NCAA has ever shown. Simple is taking all 128 teams and place them in 8 conferences 16 teams to a conference. Have two conferences play each other (that’s 32 teams for you NFL Junkies} just like the NFL Play them exactly like a NFL year but instead of preseason the games count. Each year rotate what conference plays what conference so its constantly mixing it up. So you have 17 weeks of regular season 4 weeks of playoff and then the Conference championship game, then 1 more week of champion play to finally the National Championship. Total of 23 games or from start to finish 25 weeks. Septembers first weekend to second weekend in February. Sound familiar to anyone? At the end of the year you will have 4 champions match them up based on their W/L through the year if there is ties them it’s a Lottery for who picks for who. That’s 2 play-off games and the Winners face each other for the National Championship. Long season certainly but gives us a true champion.

I do not care what number a recruit is or how highly touted they are! It does not mean anything on Saturday if you get one that decides to violate team rules, go out and get caught partying or some other school, ncaa or criminal infractions or just simply cant measure up on game day and we have seen this time and time again. Coaches as well as fans get caught up in the Ranking BS of a player. They need to look at what a players heart is and mentality. Schedules next year will be brutal if down right cannibalistic in all conferences because of the new playoff schedule, and without players with heart on the team and steady reliability this years top tear teams might find themselves scratching their heads at how many conferences losses they have next year.

Doc picked up his big smallie in 43fow and the K in 27fow everything is still deep, dam deep bite is getting old lol
-
No walleye, probably 2 weeks till things get going again would be my guess. The stripers should be up to Prairie Creek within 2 to 3 weeks and the Walleye should be turning on about the same time frame with the crappie. Lake turnover + Algae is not helping.

I still say your "K" went .7.8oz certainly bigger than that picture we were sent by a river rat lol

Having Trouble With Troller Fishermen
Feathers and Fins replied to Old plug's topic in General Angling Discussion
OP, Just FYI, I troll as shallow as 6fow very frequently for Walleye, Whites and Stripers, there are several members on this site who have watched me do it and tear up those species. If done right trolling is deadly in very shallow water and if they go in to 4ft I will run a outrigger or planer board in on them. I will give you most people just throw a line out and call it trolling with no thought to what they are doing, but watch guys that have put in years of homework on it and the technique is deadly and very precise. Not sure the type your dealing with but that is food for thought. -

How long does a guy working a cove or timber or point get that section? Answer is; If you know that is what they are doing they should be afforded it so long as they are there. With most our lakes being in the tens of thousands of acres there is no reason to screw-up someones day. Now accidents happen but intentional is rude and something most people on this site have complained about before, when it comes to others doing it to them. If you complain about it why would you do it to others? -

It is a respect thing (angler to angler) if you knew they were trolling that run why go in on them? I troll a lot and hate it with a passion when other anglers cut in front of my line when its clearly obvious what I am doing, I call it disrespectful. If I am making a long run and see other anglers I swing well wide of them as to not affect their day and wish they would give the same courtesy to me and others. Question I have for clarification is did you know this was what they were doing as your post seems to say you did? The lake is huge and no reason to interferer with them if you knew they were targeting a specific small area as it seems you did. How would you like it if you were fishing the back of a cove and a guy came in and started casting all over you. It is the exact same thing no matter the style or type of fishing you are doing, if you know someone is fishing an area and pull in on it and start interfering with them its simply disrespectful.
