Lakers and Browns would be fun, but you need the most return for your money and Bows would fit the bill better, its about the most you can stock and have angler return on. If they stocked browns an lakers they would need to put in 5pnd fish minimum to avoid predatation from stripers and that gets costly raising a fish to that size. Those would also be a "Managed Species" for trophy potential. I would be all for that but the Bass anglers would cry to AGFC to stop it citing the same things they do about striper stocking on Bull. People think Stripers are bad on Bass " which is not true" Think about lakers or browns both those species in lakes with them have a proven track record of eating other species, we would have a better chance of getting Musky or Pike stocked. So i say stick with something simple like rainbows that everything eats and is cost effective to raise and stock. The stripers will figure it out if AGFC does like westerns states and stocks the same day same place each weekend, but if they switch up days and even locations within the PC area it would give anglers and the trout a good chance. Then again I would like to see ACE take over all of PC and allow for driving along the shoreline or at least make parking along Old PC Road. Its one of the few places that could have alot of shore access to anglers.

What Color Line Do You Guys Use For Largemouth

Bill, I have not slam set a hook in year, When I am live bait fishing its always circle hooks and if you set on them you loose the fish simple as that! With the new hooks as you pointed out there is no need to set them just contant presure and the force of the fish shaking its head will set them for you. I think to many people watch way to much TV and see these guys slam setting and think that is how you do it. It is the constant pressure that hooks and lands the fish. Watch the guys fishing the ultra-light lines in cali for the big bass they dont set the hook no way they could without snapping the line, The best Tarpon fishermen I know never set the hook they just raise the rod and let the fish do it. -
Should its on the list of units.

Full spool, when I get out on the water I let it all out and run down the lake a couple miles then reel it in, do that no matter what type of line I use takes all the twist problems out of the lines. Learned the trick years ago and still practice it. -

Ande Mono 12LB test + AC PLUG + 7'6 "roddy gator rod" with a Daiwa baitcaster = 14 lbs on the certified scale. Lord everytime i look at that pictures I feel very old now lol -
There is tons of structure in Beaver, I mark it all the time seems to increase right after christmas. People constantly are making new structure in the lake, if you take your time and cruise it slowly with your unit on you will see nothing one day and a few days later all of the sudden there is something new added. The one thing that would be nice is artificial reefs.

I just need to chuckle when these topics come up. We think nothing of spending money on so many things when what we should be doing is finding what works best for ourself and then getting it. Nothing is more important than the thing that connects you to a fish and that is the line. The best lure in the world is no good if there is no way to reel it in, The best rod and reel in the world is not worth a anything if you cant reel in the fish and the best hook and knot is still not wourth a sack of beans if the line wont bring in a fish. For me "and this is my personal taste based on years of salt and freshwater" The best line for most fish is floro, The exception being shark fishing where i prefer a brais simply because it holds up if they rub on it. The best rods are St Croix for casting and spinning and the best reel ever made IMO is the Penn Jigmaster 500! But that reel is not what I would use for our local lakes so i go to the second best which is the best for the situation and that is the Shimano reels. They are what I have found works best and most importantly is comfortable for me to use all day and feels right. The feel is more important to me than anythng else as a Rod is just an extension of your body and if it is comfortable its a pleasure to use. Salt Water I always had Sabre rods untill they went the way of the Big Corporation and lost it, luckily Leon started Cal-Star rods and the comfort continued. Heck when Uglystick first came out they were great but now they dont have the same feel. So use what makes you happy and feels right. Lord I wish my X wouldnt have destroyed all my old phot albums its threads like this I want to show people a 150lb Tarpon caught on 12pnd floro, the line held the rod and reel did the job and the angler got lucky that day. I will state for the record to many people set the drag to dam tight and try and play MR BASSMASTER and horse in the fish and this is where line failure happens, not because of the line but the angler. ANYWAY Rant over. -
She is Healthy. Thats a lot of fish stocked, any word on walleye samplings? I just wish they would stock trout at Prairie Creek, I see so many families out there not catching anything, winter would be a perfect time to drop trout off, people could fish for them all along the swim beach no boat zone plus the old road dirt area. Just thinking out loud

Thats the 9cm, I like the bigger deeper running baits in shallow to really make a racket hiting the bottom

Thanks guys, Bill i think about how great our fishery is every day im on it Feb and catching fish while many guys are dreaming if Spring Thaw.

Bill, I caught many stripers and LMB in Cali right after trout stockings that had numerous trout in the belly and half way down the throat, all i can think is instinct to feed overoad all else. I had a Striper 28pnds that had 6 stocker trout 13'' and one 3lb in its belly and it still atre a 16'' long swim bait. I had one Kentucky that was gill hooked Sunday to the point it would die and when i cleaned it the thing had tons of craws in it yet had to have just one more meal.

Doc, you have to download the downloading instructions then you have to download the "WEBSTORE" then plug in your chip and follow the directions. Lowrance is not the most user friendly site for finding information it took me a while to figure it out.

Actually it doesnt IMO, I dont let baits sit at all I keep them in motion so its a non-factor. If i let them pause and sit then it might be an issue but none that i have found yet -
What Color Line Do You Guys Use For Largemouth
Feathers and Fins replied to jlinmo226068's topic in Table Rock Lake
It gets me more bites, it holds up to harsh trolling conditions when im thumping the rocks hard and that same toughness puts more fish in the boat. The object of fishing is to catch fish for money or pleasure it is the same goal, I swore when I was first starting out I would find the gear I wanted not settling on what I can afford but to work hard and get to a place where money was not a factor. So over the years I have tried many lines, rods, reels etc and found which ones IMO worked best and now I am at the point I worked hard to be at and can now enjoy the rewards of it. So the Justification is 27 years working to get to this point. -

Seagar Floro ONLY! Have for many years now and never had a problem or need to try something else. Calcuttas are spooled with 12lb Stradics are spooled with 10lb and Sahara's are 6lb. That how i know what is on what. -
To early for the A-rig, Water needs to come up about another 10 to 15 degrees and you need to find fish working shad, that is when it shines the most. Its just another tool in the box, It was the shiney new toy at christmas last year, this year the toy has lost its luster and the kids are back to lego and lincoln logs.

No thanks Chris I think I will stick to the main lake for now, sounds like it has more fish

I just kept thinking on the way to the lake how much fun they were last week so I said screw it, lets see if they are still there. Honestly I had no real hope with the front that came through I thought it would have pushed them out but the first cast was 19''inches and out of 8fow so I just kept casting. When i get in a bite that keeps me smiling I dont care if its tiny bluegill or billfish I am in heaven and nothing is wrong. Today was one of those days you feel your soul recharged with every tug on the line and I needed it. To be honest a thread on another forum had me pretty low remembering an old friend who passed on last year way to early and it felt like he was in the boat with me one last time today.

Quill, it would take an act of law to do it, with many states having hunter and fishermen harassment laws on the book if a "Marshal" or for that matter anyone told an angler to stop it would be a violation of law. From what I have heard from people on the water today and KVD himself at weigh in seems everyone is showing a great deal of respect. Now what happens after the pros leave doesnt seem to have been a issue there are some great fish coming in,some very harsh conditions, This is the first BMC that to me at least really made guys have to shine and up the game, the weather just made everything horrible and tough. My hats off to them all.
