  1. I tend to catch bigger fish 2 to 3 pounds but I attribute it to using live bait mostly and trolling. Beaver is a big lake and I am not sure where they do their shocking, im just curious if they shock in deeper water as that is where I tend to catch the bigger fish, anyone know? BTW Shad in Prairie Creek finalllllllly
  2. Ya this is a case for the three S's.
  3. Hey JD, http://mdc.mo.gov/landwater-care/invasive-species/invasive-animal-management/feral-hog-control-1 Pay close attention to paragraph 3 feral hogs in Missouri, hunters afield for other game should shoot feral hogs on sight. 1 ferral hog quickly turns into many hogs so shoot the dam thing before it has the chance to make more hogs and you wind up with the problems like TX, FL, LA and many other states.
  4. Yup another good day took a whopping 1 hour to get these Would have been faster but had to wait for church to get out and the people to get home and get their dogs to take for a walk lol. Gotta love predictable people and know what the geese do when they see a dog leashed or not.
  5. Unless your a sportsman trying to prove a point that HIGHLY DANGEROUS animals are Stocking our backyard where our kids may fall victim to the DEADLY PREDATORS and this is why MO would need an all out season. lol
  6. Jeff The shooting for ducks was over by 9am, SE Wind sucked and the birds obviously bailed out so we switched ot fishing mode, The honkers were shall we say STUPID. They let us drift right up to them I was looking over the flock for some snows and specks that had been in with them to take them out when i saw the collar and that provoked me to shoot. We were out all day but not much in the bird department. Shad were in the back of prairie creek FINALLY but the only thing really on them right now is smaller whites and stripers. Maybe in a couple weeks the Bigger class stripers will move in.
  7. Slow day on Beaver lake, saw maybe 50 birds today but the night before several thousand, I was concerned it was a staging flight I saw and this morning proved it out. Still not bad 4 ducks 4 geese including a collard bird. Managed to pick up a few whites and small stripers as well. Needing a few more cold fronts to bring in some more birds to the big water.
  8. Only fuzzy after they rolled in the laundry lint <sp> You know the proper way to give a cat a bath dont you? If not 1 open toilet lid 2 put soap in toilet 3 pick up cat and carress and talk nice to 4 Drop cat in toilet closing lid very fast 5 Sit on lid no need to flush as the cat will aggitate 6 Have someone open all doors to the house exiting to back yard 7 Flush toilet 7 times for luck ( rinse cycle ) 8 Stand to side of toilet with garbage can lid between you cand toilet for protection 9 Open lid and look out. as cat runs through house to open door and outside to dry off
  9. I could have bought it had it been off a home security camera system or even if the game cam would have been placed the way just about everyone i know places them overlooking a feed/water source. But come on its faced down directly at the cat, and looks like the cats been placed in the video based off the fuzz on the cat and around it, when the rest of the scene is in clear focus. Might as well have been Bigfoot in the picture IMO.
  10. LMAO, I thought they were 5 track animal, Food, Mating, Sleeping, Playing and Investigating everything. They were third on my list of animals I enjoyed working with, Reptiles, Wolves and then the Cats. My wife and I had three wolves and miss them everyday, from their playful streek to the trouble they seemed to just have to find a way to get into. Raising the kids around them I felt they were safer with those animals than with most people. Pack mentality those kids were cubs and they would defend them till their death. Truly miss them.
  11. Na Ness, Just seen thousands of trail cam pics, and some things in the picture dont add up. Could it be a cat? Certainly, and i wont contest its a cat the body proportions are correct and the looks, I've worked with the big cats so i do have hands on experiance. It is not the cat itself I question it is the yard part I question, Can they be in the yard ? Sure they can, But to many things look fishy in the picture.
  12. Maybe this will help. Look around the Cat in the original Pic and the one i highlighted the areas I st there is an obvious fuzz around the cat on the ground and the cat itself. I understand a moving image might be fuzzy but the ground should not and the ground not directly around the cat isnt. Next as i said is the yard light ( wierd place to have a game cam. then the game cam itself facing down right at the place the cat is walking DEAD CENTER when it appears there is a feed trough or water bucket above the cat. Anyone I know would have the game cam pointed and level toward that food/water source to catch the game as it come to it, not to mention they wouldnt have the yard light next to it as the light could keep game from comming. Like I said very fishy picture.
  13. Saw Phil's post first but ill post MOP here as well Ive got some serious question about that picture. 1st is there is a Yard Light in the pic, second it was taken by a hunting cam so why would someone have a game cam focused down at a yard light. When every cam ive ever put out or used or for that matter seen is pointed at a forward angle toward a food plot or feeder. Something seems fishy about that picture.

  15. Justin it has nothing to do with Arkansas or any other state, If you read all the info on the MDC waterfowling page you will see its based off what the people in MO want. I wish Mo would have only two zones, a North Zone and South Zone! North Zone. Open the North Zone the Second weekind in November and close it 60 days late Open the South Zone the 1st Saturday closest to the last weekend of November and run it for 60 days. As far as dividing line simply us I70 as it.
  16. Looked decent, had water in the lower pond by the duck club, farmers just now were getting the beans out of the fields! I knew it was south zone then switched to middle but when i looked it up i was suprised to see 2012-13 dates on the area regs and figured i better check it out before hunting.
  17. its going to be a madhouse this year, I keep hearing people at sporting good shops talking about ( Wanting to get into duck hunting because they watch Duck Commander ) Be safe out there this year guys and try to keep your cool, looks to be many novices this year.
  18. So i was going to hunt shawnee for waterfowl yesterday but saw in the AREA REGS it wasnt open until the 22nd, I made a call to MDC and the issue, After some researching they got back to me and the answer was It is Middle Zone and you can waterfowl hunt it. They said to use the Map not the Area regs. Thanks to John at MDC for his help. Mallards and Pintail for dinner tonight
  19. Looks great, he does awesome work, Now you have 1 down and many to go lol. It becomes and addiction to take the perfect bird for the wall but when you get them back it is like Christmas.
  20. Very nice BIG BROWN,
  21. Bals, When you have decoys out to be exact 16 dozen ( in this case ) and someone comes right in and starts casting and running the electric through the decoys that is beyound stupid its Illegal accourding to the law. The expectation is common since ( ya ya i know) but the law is clear in this and that is what I will go on. If im fishing and see decoys out and guys on shore waving me off its pretty easy to get the message. If someone does not move then they are willfully obstruct or impede the participation of any individual in the lawful activity. Please note the underlined is the wording of the law. Now as to the OP's original question I answered it, and finished it off by saying There is a line and when it is crossed it becomes Illegal! If a Pro or a Recreational angler was to come in to where you are fishing and started casting over you and where you are then they too could be guilty of it. Problem is people have gotten to the point they would rather be bullied off a spot and not say something or do something about it. Im tired of it and have started doing things about it and if people dont like it I honestly do not care, but until people do stand up to the bullies it will only get worse! I was at Cabelas the yesterday and heard two guys talking about DUCK COMMANDER and how they were going to try duck hunting this year and how they found a spot and if anyone was there they woudl push them out because it was "their spot" Its those attitudes I am tired of! When i was growing up respect was shown to sportsmen from sportsmen! I dont see it much anymore, I put a lot of blame on the TV personalities who put such a high standard on KILLs and numbers and they will do anything to get it. Also put the blame on so many new people coming to the sports wth no older mentors to show them how and teach them respect. I think back to had i done any of the behavior i see that my dad and grandad would have took a belt to my butt and taken my privledges away for a long time. Sorry its a little long winded, im just real tired of see so little respect shown from the newer geenerations and when you try and correct them you get threatened with a beat down or something else. I just feel its high time they start getting a meeting from Mr Green Jeans and hopfully a nice big citation and suspension of their PRIVLEDGES! Something has to stop it.
  22. Cool thanks for being done with me, you really have me crying over spilt milk.
  23. LOL, I run long lines when im hunting big water, they tend to seriously screw up props! You can also go one step further ARKANSAS CODE OF 1987 ANNOTATED TITLE 5. CRIMINAL OFFENSES SUBTITLE 6. OFFENSES AGAINST PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, OR WELFARE CHAPTER 71. RIOTS, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, ETC. SUBCHAPTER 2. OFFENSES GENERALLY And the Fishing part of its nice as well, but as to fishermen doing it to hunters they will be cited and can loose their license already asked about it. As they ( the fishermen) knowingly and willfully obstruct or impede the participation of any individual in the lawful activity. I really try to be understanding but when they run right into an obvious set after last year I decided to pull the camera and video it and turn them in. Some people do not diserve the privledge of fishing or hunting.
  24. Nice pinnie, early season bird is why he is missing the writing tool. I stayed in AR and played with with the fishies after Marty was so kind to tell me about a couple areas i thought about hunting, i just have got older and dont feel like getting peppered and it sounded like that kind of opener.
  25. Champ please tell me how it is an unfair indictment. Your own words would point to it being a pretty fair assesment as there are no "rules" except the legal ones for recreational anglers I would assume those words you wrote were of tournament anglers. I was one as well for many years and know first hand how rude and disrespectful they can be I have seen it in tournaments and as a recreational fishermen. Please note: I SAID "NOT ALL" but when money and compitition is involved it brings out the worse in people. You know it is true and it is a very fair assessment of the behavior. It also starts at the top in the Tourney director and works its way down. You have a director who doesnt enforce the rules and anglers wont go by them and that especially includes treatment to other anglers.
