There are plenty of whites around there as well I just didn't want to keep dealing with them especially after locating the crappie. I locked on to them like a Pointer on a Pheasant.

Simple report, You want Crappie go to Rocky Branch. There might be a walleye or two around as well. Water temp 64.3 at launch 68.7 at pull-out NE Wind around 16 to 20 mph Cloudy Bait Flicker shad for a few hours in the morning accounting for 2 legal walleye 6 to 12 fow Rest of the day it was all about Bobby Garland baby shad and catching crappie. Did have a very unruly striper decide to blast the spider rig but 4lb test against freight train doesn't work. Only 3 crappie on the rig all the rest were caught by making long cat and letting it hit the bottom then very very slowly reeling it in maintaining contact with the bottom. Oh almost forgot the annoying white bass are there also in 20fow

I would be willing to bet if a Guy was to troll 5 to 7 colors of leadcore line and a Panther Martin or Roostertail between Holiday Island and Roaring River areas he would find some trout. Just makes you wonder how many big trout might actually be lurking in TR. It has a great shad base and is certainly deep enough to support them in summer. Holdover trout in western reservoirs are known to get big because they don't get heavily targets, I wonder how big the ones in TR are?

JD my raised beds are doing GREAT. I put it in April 16th and already have Peppers, Maters, Okra starting to develop on the plants. I went with the same top soil mix you did but had read some revues online about problems so I took a bunch of Whites and Crappie carcasses and put them un the garden where I was going to plant, Then after 2 weeks I added Fish Oil Pills and the garden is going ape crazy. I actually got the idea for the fish from reading some old Native American planting tricks where they always added a fish next to the plant to insure a harvest. I am now a firm believer in it. I don't know if its to late for you to do it but might be worth a try. Also remember to put Marigolds around the garden.

Duke if you do go in to Fishtrap make sure all your rods are attended at all times the man in the Striped suit has been known to steel them if they are not. Notorious spot for some very big stripers.

Oh that would get expensive in a hurry lol Bull sharks would survive Caught them in the Big O. Tarpon would also hmmmmmm That could be funny, Hook a Tarpon and have them jump in a Wake Boat as they fight. I know they are surviving in freshwater ponds in FL couple hundred Tarpon put in Beaver would be a site to see when they are feeding or jumping for joy.

Before anyone gets crazy this is just for fun not like AGFC would ever do it, But what fish would you like to see in Beaver if it wouldn't harm anything but some rods and reels and most importantly drags. A buddy sent me a link showing them stocking White STURGEON in some of the Socal lakes and I had to think how cool it would be to have them here is what got me thinking about this. They let a 6footer go in one of the lakes that had been raised around people so she is known for swimming up to people and boats... I just think that would be super cool to see... But other than that I have caught them and ate them and they put up a heck of a fight and taste great. Picture a 200lb crappie

At this point I think the fish are even wanting to shoot a weatherman. Day after the front typically not so good but on Beaver I have had some banner days on the day its not suppose to be good. I swear if you can catch fish on Beaver you can on any lake in the world I have never fished such a challenging lake but on the same line its because of it that I have become more versatile and adaptive to what it will take to catch a fish. There are a few patterns that hold true on her though. Post front look for fish to have moved out a little deeper on main lake points or to have moved on to flats. They do it to get to the warm afternoon sun and to chase the shad that move on it for warmth ( late spring fronts ) the other pattern is the sheltered side of wind swept points picking off prey as they go over it.

If you don’t keep any bass that is your choice and I am sure if you posted some nice pictures people would appreciate them and congratulate you. Those same Congratulations should be equally afforded a person who keeps a Bass. Except for one being released one being kept there is no difference. Both anglers accomplished fooling a fish in to biting and then successfully fighting it and landing it. I am sure there are more 15'' bass in a lake than 8lb bass simple predation would suggest that along with other natural and unnatural causes of death but it still doesn’t matter if a person catches a bass and releases it or keeps it. They are doing so within the law and a persons opinion on C&R really should not be placed on others or mire up a post on a very good day that made the angler proud.
