Does having a boss come tell you on a Friday you have to work Saturday and then you telling him NO I DONT I have a tournament and him saying if you are not here turn your stuff in Monday and you stripping off your shirt and throwing it in face and throwing your pager in his lap saying NO NEED FOR MONDAY FOR WHAT I CAN DO TODAY count? Hey he knew I had a tourney I gave them 4 weeks notice to it and 4pm on a Friday telling me just pissed me off. The owner called me Monday and said he was sorry for what the guy did and I could come back. I told him I had a new job followed by telling him The worse thing you can do I Make a loyal employee say I don't give a dam anymore.

Honestly I would rather be fishing then meeting lol. This time of year though im finishing up hunting, and cleaning all my tackle and organizing the boat for fishing season, meetings will get in the way of preparation for fishing lol. As I said before I don’t do “clubs” I don’t like mandatory meetings which seem to be part of some clubs. I don’t like mandatory events you must attend ( some you aren’t told are mandatory but iif you don’t make them you are looked down on ) I sure don’t like ego’s that come with so many clubs I have seen. I hate banquets where drinking goes on. I can go on and on with so many things that put a bad taste in my mouth. Not saying this club is one of those but for me clubs are not my cup of tea. Now there are good ones, the club I was in Florida was awesome, great people but the founders set it up where they had final say-so on everything. They had a board but had ultimate say-so. Reason was to allow the club to function but if the constitution of the club was infringed on in any way that went against it they could stop it. I watched them both throw members out who gossiped about other members or bad mouthed people and were fast to kick egomaniac out. They made certain that the two charity events happened each year even if it meant paying for it themselves and they made certain that in tournaments they stayed about fun. I remember one tourney where a couple guys had some tactics questioned, another captain went to confront them and he was ejected from the tournament as the rule was simple ONLY the officials could bring up rule infraction and their final decision was final. They kept the club clean and beyond reproach on tournaments and the meetings were educational. Banquets had a O alcohol policy. Both guys only stepped in when forced to otherwise it was the will of the members and all issues voted on had to be approved by ¾ membership vote then approved by the founders to be certain it was in the guidelines and constitution of the club. Interestingly one of the founders moved the other passed on a couple years after I left and within 2 more years the club fell apart because of drinking, egos, fighting / arguing etc. I do not envy any club officers who try to keep a club legitimate and to me I would rather just go fishing now and enjoy it and peoples company that go with me. Fishing is suppose to be fun. I have enough frustration trying to find the fish and make them bite I don’t need more rules and mandates on something I do for enjoyment. Im sure we have all seen bad clubs or heard of them, I know this club is about stripers and keeping them in beaver and trying to teach members and I support that goal. If the club helps people and they enjoy being in it that is awesome and I wish them well, my only concern is unless its brought up here I really never hear about them or what they are doing so not much inof on them and their website really doesn’t tell me much either. Hate to say it but that commercial about a companies website is true.

Agreed 100% I have seen many Federation and Weekend Tournament anglers who cannot do it for Family reason, Monetary reason and so on.

Quick Question About Duck Jargon
Feathers and Fins replied to Bird Watcher's topic in Migratory Birds
Chris Im with you I would have watched and been happy as can be. I have been lucky enough to sit under many tornado's never firing a shot. Heck as I said earlier this year had a Blue actually land on me ( him I shot ) but had plenty of birds come in waves on me and just enjoyed it. It is hard to do that with others unless they have the soul for it. Guess it goes back to the 5 stages of a hunter -
Taste like Honker and make a pretty loud thud when they hit a hard surface. Sandhill is much better but not as good a thud.

Quick Question About Duck Jargon
Feathers and Fins replied to Bird Watcher's topic in Migratory Birds
My wife read this and said " I just call them Dinner and Sandwich like anyone can tell once they are filled out and cooked " I do believe her point was the best. -
If you want best bass fishermen then in my opinion it would be Bob Crupi, Dan Kadota and Allan Cole, It takes something special to target and produce monster bass and those three have the knowledge to do it. They can also catch bass on any water they fish and understand why. The big name BASS anglers get the big press but I would rather spend a day on the water with those three then any pro-bass angler.

If i had to guess where the best fisherman would be from it would be south florida and one of the guides out of that area. They have to be well rounded in Baitcasting, Spincasting and fly fishing. They have to be able to produce in open Ocean, Flats, Brackish water, Back country rivers and creeks, Tidal zones and freshwater canals and lakes. Those guys have the deepest understanding of "fishing" then most people I have met. You could drop them off on any water and they would be able to find a way to produce.

Quick Question About Duck Jargon
Feathers and Fins replied to Bird Watcher's topic in Migratory Birds
I was typing when you were lol. Yes FB has been part of it. I dont think i have posted a handful of kills this year mostly videos and pictures of the scenery. Then again i have my FB set where only my friends and family can see it because i dont want the world knowing my business. One nice thing about FB is I can get ahold of friends real fast when im driving around and give them a fast report so if they can they can get to the birds. -
Quick Question About Duck Jargon
Feathers and Fins replied to Bird Watcher's topic in Migratory Birds
Around 2004 or so when the ( TV-shows ) on cable and satilite started coming out. Like with all shows they needed Buzzwords to create excitement, then tack on the internet and the ( crews ) and black-hoodie gangs that have to be louder than my snow goose call and thier you-tube videos etc. When I started hunting there was a few nick names to ducks. 1. Mallard = Greenhead 2. Goldeneye = whistler 3. Gadwall = Grey 4. Teal = Buzz Bomber 5. Canada Goose = 747 6. Snow Goose = White Devils 7. Widgeon = cotton top But other that that most ducks were called by the name in the book, unless gramps missed an easy shot then that species whatever it was got called names that even the 7th fleet on leave would blush over. To me I hate these ( Crews ) with a passion they really dont understand how stupid they sound and honestly dont impress me. Guys that impress me are the ones who can get it done in the worse conditions with the worse pains in our old bodies and dont care if they get a bird so long as the coffee was hot, the company was good and we enjoyed a few hours in nature. We are small on this site in numbers but enjoy eachothers hunts some from pure sillyness to others with the struggles we face all for the love of the sport not the glamour rocker status. -
A lot of BASS anglers being talked about but, when you ask the questions of Fishermen could those guys compete against, Trout anglers, Saltwater anglers, Catfishermen etc. To be a fisherman to me says you are well rounded in catching all species of fish not one species or in tournament settings but in actually being able to go out on any body of water with any techinque and produce fish. A fisherman to me needs to be well rounded in the art of fishing not competing on a body of water where they get practice days etc.

I use the Micro its probably the one you saw, No problem with the screen size for me only issue I have with it at times is glare.

Now you got me thinking about going up to my little honey hole this weekend, lord I dread that walk
-
Love the pic. Walleye have been known to move about 57 miles in one day BUT I do offer them a hot oil bath after the long trip. I have caught the same walleye 3 days later 5 miles away and then 3 weeks later and it had gone another 12 miles, tagged fish so no doubt of it being the same. This was during the spawning season and it was a male. The things men will do for some loven.

Is that where we were discussing yesterday?

Jose Wejebe Zane Grey Ernest Hemingway If you want names those three could teach every angler today a thing or three.

Here is what I found so far in looking http://www.swl.usace.army.mil/Portals/50/docs/tablerocklake/title%2036.pdf Wow talk about a lot of reading so far and researching but except for what Champ posted I can find no regulations baring fishing from around docks, and at that what he posted is not in the regulations governing the lakes that I can find. But it appears ACE has not updated them since 2000. I think a update is needed. Now then here is an interesting thing in reading this. The district commander has the say in memorandums but in searching this issue It appears the Commander implemented this in a very sneaky way BASS even requested his comment to which there has been none. For him to do this justifiably he must show concern for public safety. I can find no public safety at harm or danger and thus believe he bowed to special interest. Also I have seen numerous people that have boats in the slips fishing from them which is in violation of this memorandum so it would be very easy to show selective enforcement by the Marina ( lease ) holder. When a new commander comes in I would suggest a petition by all fishermen and bass clubs especially to direct to him to remove the no fishing rule. Just my take.
