Man this thing is great. Gonna be a game changer for my river fishing! Even at full thrust there is no tourqe on the pedal! Spot lock was awesome in some pretty tough current it didn't wander around..... very impressed! I broke a leader off one time and was able to tie at the back of the boat with no worries bout fighting the Moter Taking my 8 year old to the river will be a lot easier to work with him on the water! I've just used it once, but right now I think this thing is awesome!

Richard cross has the ulterra in his topwater. He used spot lock round some shoals so we could hammer some trout Very impressive. He was able to fish slot better not haveinf to fight the Moter. With the edge I got in full thurst it will ha e to much tourqe on the pedal when trying to Moter up again some current river current. That hybrid feature with the cable pedal but electric assist I think would rock in a river situation! Les they claim they have tweaked the spot lock feature to be even better now? Like to see if anyone has an ultrex on a river situation yet. The price limits a lot of us I know on this deal when you can get the edge for 500 bucks

Man I want one, of course the price is what's holding me back. For current river that 112 thrust would be handy at times. Not sure bout 3 batteries in a 60/40 tho? The 80 is good 90 percent of the time. I'm thinking I could easily handle the current with the pedal while setting in my millennium seat on the front!

+1 on the Alberto. I've had better luck with not breaking at the knot as much on snags using mono as a leader over flouro? May just be me but seems to wok better

Hey Chief, and thanks guys. Sorry I just saw this. Yeah the show airs locally in the Jonesboro Ar market, and on The Fox station in Cape. It actually aired in Springfield back in 2010 to 2013. It was big up there. You all could of seen it back then probably. He's entertained the idea of going back up there but it's harder for us to work that area working full time jobs. We air just 6 months at a time so it's manageable with our jobs. We do a lot of stuff in the southern ozarks despite the name of the show. Lol. We live in the delta so the name just kinda stuck. We aren't fancy just do it like the weekend warrior does it. Mainly just try to have fun and make someone want to get off the couch and get out there. I'm sure no pro that's for sure. Lol. This started out for me as helping my friend that owns the show a couple fishing shows a season, as a hobby. If gotten more involved as he needed more help, I rally enjoy it. I get mostly some different fishing stuff as that's my passion there are others that hunt more. I've had several folks at some sport shows we've worked lately mention they think more bout catching and releasing after watching some of th fishing stuff where I talk about it. I've made it a point not to sound like I'm preaching or know it all because I sure done. But cnr is about the only thing I'm vocal about on there. If it influences just a few kids or something I'd feel good about that! We will have this seasons shows posted on a new YouTube channel we are working on. And working on a deal to be on Roku and Amazon Fire for next fall where you all could watch. Bret. To answer your question Paul we air on 6 different TV stations with a possible reach of over 2 million folks. In Jonesboro it's virtually tied as there highest rated Sunday morning program. Kinda floored me when I found that out. If you got Facebook you can keep up with us www.facebook/outdoorsinthedelta -
Intro to the High-def Craw
LittleRedFisherman replied to Smalliebigs's topic in General Angling Discussion
Scott I get back up there we will take some more video of it in the water and stuff! -
I've been on the forum for 7 years now, and have met some neat folks on here through jigfest getogethers and making great friends like Ham that I fish with when I get the chance! Today was another great example. Today I met up with Hogwally and Smalliebigs on the river to fish and film some footage with there new HI Def (Mitch) Craw. I have to say I had a blast with these guys, it was like we have fished together for years! The cold front blew through today which made fishing tougher at times, especially the wind, but we had a great time, and still scored some good fish. Aaron knowledge of the river there in impressive, he could tell us how deep the water was we were fishing, Scott and I would laugh when we looked at the depth finder and it was exactly what he said. I learned today from these guys some tactics I wanna try on the Current river down here, and learned from watching Aaron on how to fish the Craw more effectively. I haven't went over the footage yet but I will be putting something together that we may share on here eventually! Great time fellas, looking forward to it again when Mitch and Paul can join in on the fun! Here's a few pics from the day! Bret

Got out on the water again here in Arkansas mainly targeting winter Smallies again but knowing there could be a variety of possible fish in this section. the weather cooperates and so did the fish, especially towards low light at the end. The rivers are running so clear here I think the low light help not spook them. Ended the day with 6 species of fish including a northern hog sucker which was a first Water temp got up to 48 at the end of the day, think that helped to.

Ham you go ice fishing holler, that is on my bucket list as well!

Got out a couple days after Christmas with my father in law and my nephew in the River. After e big rain and storm that rolled through the river was stained up at my normal fishing spots. So we headed to JFK to find some clear water near the dam. There wee several others with the same idea as the river was pretty busy for the winter time. We through barbless zig jigs exclusively and had a great result . My father in law caught a decent brown and I landed several 15 inch rainbows. i see a lot of fly fishing going on that river as we were the odd balls throwing jigs. They work on the little red to, was just a great day! Olive and olive and ginger were the hot color that day.

I have had minimal problems with the leaf sucking issue with my jets. I have a supreme with the 25 and a blazer with a 40. I mainly have kept the supreme for the fore mentioned restricted areas and some trout fishing. The supreme would serve you well, I've love mine. But I did get a chance to fish in zig jig mans topwater and is the sweetest looking trout boat there is. Good luck Bret

Man I think it's cool you do that. That's great you can fish that much in a year. I was glad to be able to see you catch some of those fish. Look forward to going again soon!!

Went back to the river earlier in the week, once again trying new water and practicing patterning/finding some winter bass. This trip proved to be more challenging, I really had to work for the bites! I honed in on one spot that really looked promising and managed to pull a few Smallies out, one being a nice one. As I continued to fish I hung into a big one. This dude was some dead weight and for a minute I thought I had the smallie I had been waiting for, when I got a good look in the crystal clear water finally and saw it was a walleye, I was excited and disappointed at the same time! It turned out to be a 20 inch walleye my personal best. I'd rathered been a 20 inch smallie but still happy with a PB! That was the highlight, other than having a peaceful evening on the river and some decent weather! Hope to continue my winter challenge later next week to another new location! Bret Merry Christmas!

The sun was shining when I left the house around 11 to head to the river for a few hours, it was cloudy by the time I got there. I fished an area i'd never winter fished before, I had been there with my son back in the summer, and marked it then thinking it looked like a possible wintering spot. I didn't hammer them by any stretch, but caught several in a couple hours of fishing it. They were in a little more current than I expected, but according to my sonar the water temp was 46, so they were in the hole but on the edge of it close to the current, once I figured this out I had decent action for an hour or so. I started out with a ned, then tried one of Mitch's small craws, after catching a few on that, I decided to bring out his larger craw to go after a good one. The action slowed about that time, I decided to try it, but after about 10 minutes of using it I had casted in a good looking spot I thought, it had the right drift and placement and was thinking this ought to catch one if there's one in there. After I had given up on that cast being close to the boat, I reeled it in for another cast, to my surprise a monster was chasing it, about the time I stopped it it saw the boat and darted. I can't do the Roland Martin and weigh and measure fish in the water, but it was a dandy, i'll leave it at that. Came close to having another Mitch Craw success story.. ha ha. Anyhow, felt great to be on the river, even though the 4 mile boat ride back to ramp was rather fridgid on the way back. I love the challenge of finding new water these days, and today was a success in my book! Going back soon I hope! Bret.
