I was as deep as I could get in hip boots, about 30' off the bank when one came swimming by me about 25 feet away. I said "Hey Buddy" and it turned right at me and dove under ANGRILY in MY direction. I got out the water with a quickness ! 😅

I know of the description, and spent a period of time hunting/shooting them for sport...... which ain't exactly easy. They are pretty smart and pick up on danger as quickly as any animal I've ever hunted. You might pop ONE, but after that the word gets out, and you'll probably not get another shot at one. Even at long range. When we used to shoot archery 3-D events they always had a Crow target set up.....and I would always think "YEAH RIGHT"😅 Getting a shot at a crow, with a bow, has to be close to impossible.

I had a beaver come at me, like he meant business, when I was wading a pond flyfishing for bluegill. Quite a wakeup call ! Had a pelican try to attack my genitalia once too. I hauled off and tried to punt him across the lake......but it was like kicking a feather pillow. They are all head & feathers, no body, so I don't know how they can swallow any fish bigger than a minnow 🤷 I never considered otters to be an aggressive threat......but apparently they CAN BE. My grandma was petrified of CROWS her whole life because a crow attacked one of her cousins when my grandma was a kid. Tore his face, neck, and shoulders up bad. He lived his entire life without an eyelid because of it.

Zucchini, Cherry tomatoes, & Watermelon are the only productive harvests we've ever had here in the past. Also did pretty decent with strawberries once. All reasonably self sufficient.....and really no cost at all 👍 But these girls got stuff to grow Cilantro, Green beans, Cucumbers, lettuce, and I don't know what else. It's gonna fail, I guarantee it.......And if I so much as whisper a "told ya so".... I'll catch hell. 🙄

'92 Johnson 48hp. Compression is equal @ 124# on both cylinders. Obviously low hours. But the gearcase had water in it....and froze. A new gearcase housing is on the way 👍 So she'll get 100% refreshed, given a 2 year warranty, and be ready to stir water pretty soon. Who wants to love her ? 🤗 $3200.00

I've gone the opposite way. Gear fishing (casting/spinning) just doesn't offer the challenge that makes it worthwhile to me anymore. The excitement, and the feeling of accomplishment, of shooting/skipping a jig, or whatever, into a tight spot and winching out a fish has just deminished. I used to literally LIVE FOR IT, but it doesn't even impress me anymore. 🤷‍♂️ And now that FFS has become such a thing.....I can finally just give it up and move along.

Hands down the BEST topwater bass bug I've ever thrown. Casts easy. Durable. Has multiple retrieve options. Easy to build. And Hookup % is as close to 💯 as it gets. 👍 I just love 'em.
