Doesn't take a master-tech to diagnose that one. Does it ? -

Once you fully understand the Mercury oil injection system on the carbureted & EFI motors, I feel that it becomes obvious that unless you typically run 20+ miles at a time @ 3/4 throttle to WOT, or idle for at least 2 miles, every time that you turn the key.....the designed metering of oil is totally redundant.....and improper. The vapor separator (or carburetor bowls) are always going to be full of whatever metering of oil was demanded 15 minutes ago. Regardless of what RPM you are running NOW. So why not just run a 60:1 or 50:1 pre-mix.....and eliminate any possibility of potential oil metering issues? FYI: 50:1 has been the industry standard for 2 cycle motors forever, only because those numbers roll off the tongue easier. 🙄 65:1 is honestly the best oil ratio as far as lubrication, lower carbon buildup, lower engine temperature, better performance throughout the entire RPM range, AND LESS EXHAUST SMOKE is concerned. 😉 It's easy to measure and remember too.... just remember 2 ounces per gallon. 👍 (1.9 if you really wanna do the math) -
For your style of fishing they should be just fine. 👍

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've enjoyed the great outdoors all of my life MOSTLY because I know that I am the apex predator in the area. Having grizzly bears and mountain lions to consider.... would pretty much take the fun out of things. When I was a teenager there was a strip pit that we hiked into occasionally. It was kinda close to a landfill and there was a pack of wild dogs (escapees from the city dog pound...so I was told) known to be near there. Having to pack a 12ga. and a pocket full of buckshot rounds every time we fished that pit was a PIA. One winter while rabbit hunting in the same area, all of a sudden THERE THEY WERE and HERE THEY CAME ! The lead dog was a big black German Shepherd looking bastard, and there was no mistaking what his intentions were. I gave him a face full of #4 buckshot as soon as he got well within range......and LUCKILY the other 5-6 nasty looking dogs that were behind him got the message and I was able to get out of there while they stayed there sniffing that convulsing black mofo. Even 2 follow up shots of #6 field loads didn't cause the others to run away. One looked like a dalmatian mutt of sorts.....and THAT ONE did high-tail it out of there, but 4-5 others just stood their ground. Even when well armed & prepared, having a rather large wild animal attacking you sure takes the fun out of things, and will definitely ruin your day. -

Well the next time you get close enough, give them a HIGH FIVE from fishinwrench! -

Only because you live where the others are EXTREMELY RARE ! And I salute the ones who help keep it that way.. I've walked among hundreds of PEOPLE on a daily basis, for 60+ years. And my biggest fear has always been that a SPIDER (or pubic lice) might jump off of one of them. 😅 Hell I've even been cared for by two-legged critters. I can't remember EVER being given a jar of honey, or a pot of goose fajitas by a grizzly bear or a cougar. ❤️ They definitely cause more problems than they solve, that's for sure. -

In a society where folks are obsessed with personal protection, and where even a verbal threat is considered "terrorism".... it amazes me that eradicating a known predator of humans is frowned upon, and even considered a crime. -

It would be considered a problematic critter in any woodlot that I, or my kids, personally spend time in. I don't like spiders or mice in my house, or poisonous snakes in my yard either. IMO the "stupid" person is the one with a cougar attached to the back of his neck ! 😅 -
All of the boys around there, that I'm aware of, are livescoping schools of shad, and throwing jerk baits, swimbaits, ect.. Not a very productive way to catch big ones, but it's a consistent way to fill a limit.

Every bolt/nut has a prescribed torque spec. I dunno how HEAVY HANDED or LIMP WRISTED you might be.....but personally I just do it by feel with a 3-step tightening sequence. Beginning in the center....and working my way outward. Just make sure that your powerhead screws are free of any buildup. Hit them with a wire brush and a shot of carb cleaner if there's any crud on those threads. Now is the time to overhaul the carburetor, put in a fresh fuel pump diaphragm, and refresh the water pump. Is the ignition timing indicator FIXED on the intake manifold, or is is adjustable? If adjustable it will need to be set to TDC. (TOP DEAD CENTER) -
I'm amazed at the number of medications being prescribed where the directive is to continue taking for life. They tried to start my 14 y/o daughter on a medication schedule like that and I threw a genuine fit. No thanks, you crooked @$$holes. Currently, 2 years later, she is doing just fine. 🤷♂️

Do the chemo and you'll be on one hell of a diet. It's your decision, brother. 👍

Let me tell you something.....As long as you truly WANT to eat something, then you are healthy enough to do so. Among the first things you will lose as your body begins to shut down, is your appetite. If you want to eat it, then EAT IT !

Never Thought Of This Effecting The Election

If a war in Ukraine doesn't effect it then a thunderstorm in Missouri shouldn't ! 😂 -
Listen, I've had enough of your cooking to know that you could take an old army boot and make it taste delicious. I don't think I could ruin a rabbit meal if I tried.....but I know darn well that squirrel isn't as forgiving. That was the only point I was trying to make. 😊

You invested 200.00 If the lower unit is good (no water in it, and not beat to hell).....it will bring 250.00-300.00 from someone needing one. You had strong spark so the ignition components are known to be good, and are worth another 350.00-400.00 easily. There's always someone out there looking for a cowling....and willing to pay 100.00 for one. Did you say that it had an electric starter and associated brackets? There's another 200.00 The manual rope starter will sell also....100.00 easily. You gambled well ! 😉
