  1. Otters have become victims of propaganda. Bad press. I've never seen the need to declare war on them.
  2. We have bald eagles around here that do even worse. They eat the eyeballs, and peck a hole in the belly to get the eggs out. The rest gets left on an island to rot. Too cold for the coons and possums to swim out there I guess.
  3. Are you getting into ice fishing, or what?
  4. Bottom separation isn't that good on the Garmin units, so fish along the bottom are hard to detect. Allegedly the new Lowrance does a better job of that, but I have only installed one of them and didn't get a chance to play with it at all. The Lowrance unit is the one I'm holding off on getting for my White Bass fly-fishing boat, hopefully to save my arm 500 casts per day.
  5. Not the jello with shredded carrots! 😵
  6. Who are you? You're not here to give me an enema are you? 🤪
  7. I just read through that. Do I really just tell the same stories over and over, from one year to the next? My dad used to do that in his later years, and it absolutely drove me crazy. 😳 No wonder everybody here is sick of my crap. 😂 Is that dementia or alzheimer's setting in? Yikes!
  8. Once again you show your lack of independent thought. You're literally a programmed drone. You really are. 🙄
  9. I have no way to prove it, but I have a feeling that Crane cr. receives a stocking every 3-4 years. It definitely has within the last 7 years.
  10. I don't know why they even teach History in schools, because once you get older and can practice a little deductive reasoning on your own, you'll likely figure out that what you were taught was complete BS. If you think the truth gets twisted terribly NOW, just imagine how twisted it was back then.
  11. You can't see the bottom? How deep are those spots.
  12. I thought we traded turkeys for them. The story I heard/read (on the Internet) was that a railcar was loaded with McCloud Rainbows, and was actually headed out East somewhere...... but low and behold... "the train stalled out and they weren't going to be able to get it going again for several days. So knowing that all the little trout par would perish before reaching their intended destination, the railroad crew took it upon themselves to haul them, from the water filled rail car, in milk cannisters to the nearest stream.....which JUST SO HAPPENED TO BE Crane creek". Sheesh🙄 Such an utterly heroic tale to tell, but also a galactic crock of bull. Reminds me of the giant catfish the size of Cadillacs stories, near every dam that was ever built. I believe our pal Al Agnew even did a painting for MDC, depicting an old 1930's MDC pickup and a MDC agent dumping a milk cannister into a stream. Hell, I don't think we even had a Missouri dept. of Conservation back then. And if we did then how did the railroad guys contact them. Morse code? _.. .._. ___ .. __ ..._ __._. .._. __.. ...__. ..__. which translates to:. Help Come Now Crane Mo Have Free Trout You Make Money
  13. The motor can sit higher (in relation to the bottom of the hull)..... but the hull sits lower in the water. More weight, and less hull surface area on the water, so obviously it sinks down more. They handle fine when up on plane, but a bit clumsy at slower speeds.
  14. I wouldn't want to be a slave to that stuff, as most up and coming anglers likely will be. On the other hand.... It's totally stupid to keep casting into areas where there might not be any fish, when it's so easy to find out now.
  15. Oh no, I can usually tell 1/2 way through the first one.
  16. All St.Louis (Bud & Busch) beer gives me a headache, and all of the brown beer I've ever tried does too. Hamm's, Miller, Michelob, and Coors do not. Always wondered what the active headache inducer was.
  17. I have 14 of them, and several are even older than that one. I can overhaul one with my eyes closed. Greatest baitcasting reels ever made IMO I can't stand the low profile reels that everyone else is a big fan of.
  18. Is it actually the alcohol in cheap wine/beer that causes those pounding headaches? Or is it another ingredient?
  19. Well you might as well sit on all of your entry fees and put them in a jar until they add up to one.....cuz you're wasting your time & money now competing without it. Seems to me that the newest Lowrance unit has better bottom separation, which should give you an edge (BASS FISHING) over the Garmin and HB guys. With the Garmin you can't see fish real close to the bottom very well.
  20. I've been trout fishing since way back before anybody had an internet connection, and I can remember Crane creek, during a wicked 3-4 year drought, being nothing but a series of scattered mossy, slimey mud puddles with nothing but tadpoles in them.....as far down the literally bone-dry creekbed as you wanted to go. Then as we got into the mid 1990's and the internet started coming into our homes, suddenly here are these stories about how it was stocked from railcars way WAY back in the day, before I was even born,....and that THE SAME TROUT were still there. Why Buullshiiit !!! I don't know everything, but I know better than that. That whole story, protected as it may be, is a giant crock of BS.
  21. Oh for fuk sake......A canned headache. Where's the ibuprofen?
  22. In the name of social justice, I'm flattered.
  23. Think it? Hell didn't I just confirm it? 😁
  24. If anybody is still able to rent boats and make a profit doing it......then they are on Golden Pond compared to LO. Send a rental boat out here, and 3 out of 10 times you'll be towing it back in pieces.
  25. The 'rona sure didn't slow down the boat traffic here on LO last year. It actually made the season start earlier and end later, and weekdays were just as busy as weekends. Lakeside pubs, marina's, and restaurants had a banner year.
