  1. The mentality of that is interesting, isn't it? I most certainly participated in it for many years so the hypocrisy is huge (kinda like tournament fishing), but what is it about a picture of yourself with a dead doe, or a little spike, that makes you feel like you have severe erectile disfunction? Jerky and backstrap taste, and nutritional value, is identical. Honestly the only thing cool about killing a buck is that you have a handle to drag him with.
  2. There are most definitely facts, I just think that most folks find it easier on their brain to avoid them than to accept them. The current fact is that more deer get killed DAILY on the highways than would likely be "taken illegally" in a years time. The only beneficiary of current regulations is lawyers and body shops. Oh, and I'm sure the buzzards appreciate it.
  3. Explain to me how, in 1925, it was possible to count all the deer? And since nobody had to "check them in" back then, how could anyone possibly know that PEOPLE killed them all? That sounds like some BS quoted out of the bible, or some biologists notes. So what's the deer census allegedly up to now? Lemme guess:. "In 1925 Bernard Skittle's coon hound had 400 deer ticks on him, so there must have only been 400 deer".
  4. Sweety pie and I made a run to the hardware store and to grab a sandwich today. In the 8 miles from my place to Laurie we counted 8 fresh kills on the shoulder/ditch and on the way back there were 2 others standing beside the road waiting their turn to get smeared. And tomorrow there will likely be 6-10 more.....just wasted. So I really can't get a handle on the criminalization of guys who wanna kill a few deer. Do they really think that if any of us could just harvest a deer anytime we wanted to, that the population would go extinct? Because I don't. As a matter of fact I think it might just be beneficial to all of mankind. Instead of food stamps just give them a cheap Mossberg and a box of slugs.
  5. As soon as I get done eating I'm gonna go make a scrape in the hallway, I'll let ya know if it works out good for me.
  6. You must live a sheltered life. Of all the atmospheres I piddle around in, this is among the least negative and dramatic. 😊
  7. That dude tells stories just like the kid next door to me. For starters, nobody that's been hunting for 40 years drags a deer that hasn't been field dressed yet? So if it did happen like he said, then the bobcat was probably pissed that he didn't leave a gut pile where he should have.
  8. I'd say it's more about convenience than a smart money option. For the price of a lifetime hunting/fishing license I can buy a Mercury throttle position sensor or HP fuel pump, sell it, and profit enough to buy permits for me and all my closest buddies for 15 years. 😆
  9. The middle kid has a video on her phone of me raising hell and demanding that my wife admit that Blue Bonnet and Country Crock is NOT BUTTER. I'll see if I can get her to upload it to YT. I guarantee that even the guys on here that can't stand me (Ham, Susalaki, ect) will applaud my performance. She has this thing where she refuses to admit when she has lost an argument. We truly should have a reality show. The kid has another clip where I tried to get Sugarbritches to admit that the spaghetti was undercooked. And yet another of me teaching the youngest child to hock a loogy while my darling wife threatens to divorce me. Freakin' priceless footage!
  10. The only thing keeping me and my youngest kid from being 600 pounders is the nearest Krispy Kreme is an hour's drive away. We can flat put 'em away boy !
  11. Tell me about it !!! 😀 Things go full porn star around here when Sugarbritches gets lit. 😎
  12. Yeah that stock Cherokee was way out of it's league. Honestly though, from the looks of the pic they shared....I think I could have driven it out. 😊
  13. I was just teasing 😊 Gary is a good dude, and I hope he is recovering ok from his leap out of the tree stand.
  14. Great 🙄 If I spend all my money on airguns and fishing stuff can I get tax funded monetary aid to buy food and pay bills ? Maybe instead of MDC getting that .08% that money should go for a "Pickle Tax" to aid people who are idiots and get themselves into pickles all the time.
  15. Uh huh, and we all know why.... don't we? That ol'GT has never been to visit me. 😥 Not even once. Probably suffering from the hands of that lawn mower cobbler in the next cove over. 😂
  16. It was just me and 11 others in the park today. The bite was way tougher than last week, the fish are getting noticably smarter, but I did ok. My dry fly casting is improving at a rapid rate. One of the guys I spoke to said that someone at Larry's told him that Z3 was full of Smallies.....but if it is I couldn't catch but one of them, and it was a runt. Pretty sure it's still about a month early for that action. Ran down to the river when the whistle blew and caught 2 pretty little bows and one nice sized brown before dark. First brown I've seen this year and I don't think it was a recent stocker.....but I might be wrong. There still wasn't any in the park.
  17. I'm sure that a biologist will eventually cross breed them with everything else that swims.....so hang in there, you'll catch one.
  18. So you are fond of the UV stuff? Or you're not? I haven't formed an opinion on it yet, but UV Ice Dub sure does seem to possess some magic.
  19. A metal one is not going to snap over the little ball knuckle gizmo. You'd have to re-engineer the whole linkage system to make that work. Actually if it's all set up and synced properly the little plastic clips are fine. If it gets tinkered with and things start binding up......then it'll snap a new one just as quickly as it will a 25 year old one.
  20. True, but printed copies of those parts are always brittle and not UV and fuel resistant. By all means get the OEM part if possible.
  21. Has anyone ever been able to understand what ... Jane says ?
  22. Are you tying flys with it, or using it in a recipe for the cooking thread?
  23. Nothing pisses me off worse than Mercury and their use of cheesy plastic stuff on critical components that will leave you stranded when they snap.
  24. I have a bunch of that Gary Lafontaine special tri-lobal antron that supposedly you can't get anymore. It was only sold through a book club or some crazy thing and was expensive as hell. I just HAD to have it. Does anybody use that stuff? If so I'd love to trade it for something I can use.
