  1. Probably about as legal as shooting woodpeckers. 😂
  2. Just splice in a pigtail and plug it into your trailer light harness.
  3. Got 3 new feeders all stained up and ready to hang tomorrow.
  4. Had a gull dip down and eat a Pop-R once. I reeled it in and was trying to be gentle but the gull started screaming and acting stupid, eventually I got pissed off and stomped it into a bloody mess on the front deck. The stain was still there when I sold the boat. I still own the Pop-R 😊
  5. If you only do it once or twice a year...yeah it might be a little tricky. But after you do it several times it gets really easy. Old farts like you are always whining about how they can't do this and that anymore, and how they aren't as steady as they used to be ....blah blah blah ...Just get out there and do it, you'll figure out a way to get it done without busting yourself, and then you can quit worrying about how old and feeble you are. If I don't go fishing for awhile I fall all over the boat. After a couple of trips out I'm as steady as I ever was. I used to climb poles for a living, but now I get scared when I stand on a chair to change a lightbulb. Give me some climbing gear, a stack of work orders, and in 3 days I could be running up those poles like Tarzan again. Guarantee it. 😊 You aren't old and feeble.... you're just rusty.
  6. Will you teach me how?
  7. Yeah I'd rather have a fancy cheeseburger myself......but let's not go down that road.
  8. I haven't started "harvesting" them yet. I had almost zero squirrels around here until I put up feeders early this spring, and now I have at least 7 for sure, and at least one is a red (which is rare around here). Everytime I harp on my wife for spending money stupidly, she reminds me that this upcoming squirrel pot pie has cost somewhere between 400.00 and 1000.00 🙄
  9. Can't emphasize that enough. That's why I think your odds improve by working your way upstream. With exception of the Sneaky Pete I find it's best to work flys pretty fast. Don't give them a chance to study the fly for even 2 seconds. Something about the Sneaky Pete just slowly drifting with occasional twitches though will often catch the biggest Smallies in the pool. Topwater is King on small clear streams about 90% of the time.
  10. Good looking chick, I don't know why she piles on the mascara like that.
  11. Hickory nuts must taste better than corn, peanuts and sunflower seeds, because my squirrel feeders haven't been visited in over a week.
  12. Yeah, I had one argue with me about the difference between a carp and a buffalo. He thought buffalo was only found in the Mississippi River, and that everything else was a carp.
  13. 🖕😊🖕
  14. Can you feed cork into a 3D printer ? Boy that'd be sweet!
  15. Yeah I have a bag full of wine corks and a Dremel also, and yeah they'll work...but OMG what a process!!!! And I can never make 2 the same. 🙄 I prefer to get good cork popper bodies and just flip them around. J.Stockard is where I got my last batch, but they don't have them anymore. I probably have 8-10 left and then I don't know what I'll do.
  16. It's craft foam from Wal-Mart. Just laminate 3 sheets together with spray adhesive, cut your rectangles out, poke a hole in the center to slide it over the hook eye. Tie in your tailing material and a good thread base for the foam. Then slide it on, fold it over, and secure with Super Glue Gel. Then use some 3/0 thread to cinch down the waist. It won't come undone and spin around the hook. If you just forget that it's a popper and strip it like a streamer it makes more racket than a buzzbait. 😊 That cinched down waist creates some wicked air bubbles when you long strip it. It also walks side-to-side if you use a loop knot. I like the googly eyes just because they add more bouyancy and push even more water. Any potential "rattle" they might have is overshadowed by all the other racket this fly makes. 😅 I tie them big and use them mostly for green bass. I've tried slightly smaller ones for Smallies but the little ones don't raise hell like the big #1's do.
  17. When we were kids we used to go out on the bridges north of town and shoot turtles and snakes. One day a game warden came by and told us to quit shooting turtles. Well can we shoot snakes? NO! Well what are we supposed to shoot then? IDGAF but don't shoot the turtles and water snakes. Shoot Woodpeckers, he said. 🤣 Now WTF? A game warden telling us to shoot WOODPECKERS! If that don't beat all. 🤔
  18. I have trouble finding good cork for Sneaky Pete's, and I am stuck on CORK for them, can't stand the hard foam popper heads. I used to like Blockhead poppers but then me and T.H. fell out, so I designed my own version that's even better ....so screw him 😅.
  19. Bulkhead Deciever. Use a no-slip loop knot when tying it on. Hands down the best streamer pattern I have ever found, I love it. It's a little tricky to tie, you'll trash the first 2-3 until you get it right....but it's worth it.
  20. This Fall.... beginning about NOW, a #2-#4 white Sneaky Pete is real REAL hard to beat. 2nd choice is a Club Sandwich Hopper about 2 1/2" long. And always work your way UPSTREAM if you can.
  21. If I can help YOU do it....then why can't I do it myself? 😂
  22. I'm not so sure. I had one write me a citation for expired plates while inside the boundaries of BSSP. I turned the ticket over to my lawyer, and a week later my lawyer called and said "it's fixed, keep your money, the officer was out of his jurisdiction". 🤔 I wouldn't have thought he was OJ while clearly inside the park....but that's 100% what my lawyer said.
  23. If you go back and read the whole thread, you were clearly talking about it being a striper. 😃 Whichever, who cares. 😊
  24. I have experienced the same, but it isn't to MDC's credit. They are doing what fish do NATURALLY.
