    ....with Tohatsu powerheads. Used to be Yamaha, but them and Merc fell out of love with each other, and to smooth things over Mercury dumped the Mariner line.

    BTW, Mercury 4-strokes below 115hp are Tohatsu.

    They are fine motors. But when you're in the business of working on outboards you can piss people off by making them wait 2 months to get a simple part.....like a tilt/trim relay, voltage regulator, or a head gasket. The cliche "slow boat to China" wasn't just made up for no reason. It takes an eternity to get something from China or Japan.

    Actually calling them Jacklegs wasn't fair. They are good guys, they just can't get parts any quicker than anybody else can by ordering online, and they never have the Suzuki/Nissan/Tohatsu parts that I need in stock....even though they sell the stupid things.

    Lowe didn't. That jackleg dealership in Lebanon did(and still does I think). Lowe never sold outboards, only boats and trailers

    Oh God, I forgot about that. I don't work on Suzuki's and Honda's....other than general service crap (water pumps and gear lube changes).

    Oh Bull butter! I've done it a hundred times on bicycles and lawn tractors. I wouldn't do it on a trailer or something used at high speeds, but you can do it on your ATV without any problems. Just be glad you don't have a Suzuki outboard.

    Agreed. I feed a family of four with as many Whites as anyone should desire eating, plus throw a big blowout fish fry/beer bust every year.....and never exceed my possession limit of 30 Whites. I guess if you only chase Whites one or two days per year then it works out ok. But I think I'd rather do just about anything except cleaning 100+ Whites in one evening. What a chore!

    Yeah, for quite a ways. Both Ho Humm and HVO have property there.

    If you have reverse and neutral then your shaft to shift rod spline setting is fine. If you can't get FWD without loosing REV by adjusting the control cable then you need a new shift clutch or possibly a new gear set.

    Are you talking about just the control cable setting, or the shaft-to-shift rod linkage ?
