I've witnessed it a number of times. Most recently last September, and sadly it was a derby that I helped organize and run. Enough floated that it upset us pretty bad. We had another scheduled for the following week and we cancelled it. Just finished weighing in a scoping contest today though.....and all seemed to swim off just fine. 22.32# to win 👍

It depends, and I'm not sure what it depends on. The gases inside the body cavity obviously. I've had aquariums and usually the dead fish do NOT float......but occasionally they do. More often than not the ones that die have to be scooped off the bottom. Maybe one of our armchair biologists can explain that to our satisfaction. 🤔 Way back in my baitshop working days the minnow tanks always had a few dead floaters AND lots of dead sinkers. The dead sinkers got thrown in the crawdad tank......The dead floaters got pitched outside to feed the coons. Gigged Smallmouth and Trout always seem to sink. 🤷‍♂️

Probably not. But they decided to start X-raying and autopsying fish that are submitted for records...... Then they need to continue that protocol from that point going forward. Right ? Especially WORLD RECORDS. This goes beyond state record classification. Someone could EASILY stuff 5# of lead in that gullet !

3 years ago I could have recommended someone close to you. But everyone has hired new "techs" since then, and those techs have only been taught how to diagnose engines that they can plug into computers. So 🤷‍♂️ Fact is: I'm a dying breed......and YES I fully plan to capitalize on it. 😊

Can't speak for RB but when I was tournament fishing I only took a day off when I had them dialed-in solid, and was strokin'em. The tougher it got....the harder & longer I fished. I sure don't miss that grind. 😉

Speaking of having your crap in order................................................................Wanna hear a conspiracy theory? The REAL reason for the "Live Release Boat" is so the number of dead fish don't get noticed soon after a weekend event. 😉

At the end of the day, the average size of the 5 fish you weigh-in might be. Sure. But the number of fish you touch during the entire day??? I doubt it. Let's talk about how much time each fish you touch spends OUT OF THE WATER. All of that culling and figuring out which one goes in the box......🙄

Only on Bassmaster Live & MLF will you see guys not targeting every bass they see. And even then.... ONLY after they have 5 four-pounders in the livewell and they are trying to upgrade their limit. So that argument is kinda lame, don't you agree?

Yeah, if you live way out in the woods ALL ALONE and don't ever want to be visited by anyone, or any other animal.....Then a pitbull is a fine choice. But in a society where we all try to get along with each other as best we can.....they are a bad fit. There's a good reason why Lions, Cougars, and Tigers are not known as good pets too. Although I'm sure they can be very sweet.

Me either. They are cool dogs! My only hangup with them is how they don't play nice with other dogs. Two dogs getting into a little scrap.....and then getting over it, and still being pals, just doesn't happen when a pitbull is in the mix. I don't like that attitude.

The funniest thing I've ever seen was a Chihuahua attempting to assault a Cat of the same size. That cat just sat down and slapped the spit right out of its mouth! 😂
