  1. It shut you up, so that was a perfect answer. 😂
  2. The guy that gave me the test kit went through this outragous procedure of letting it run for 2 minutes then sterilize the faucet with a propane torch, then let it run for 10 seconds THEN take the sample and send it off to some faraway laboratory and wait for test results. That was over a year ago and I'm still not in the mood for all of that.
  3. Don't leave your food unattended! I had to play tug-o-war with my daughter over a hot apple turnover last night. Turned my back on it for 10 seconds and the little varmint was all over it.
  4. I'd tell you what I thought of the little guy who is afraid of soap and nail clippers, but I can already tell he has fans in the room, so I'll keep it to myself. 😄
  5. Where's the report on that? Sorry I missed it.
  6. https://www.lakeexpo.com/boating/boat_crashes/powerboat-overturns-on-gravois-arm-two-people-injured/article_ecfa55e4-aea4-11e8-93d0-834e5e56e893.html Blasting out of a narrow tributary arm, just expecting everyone to stay out of his way because he's big and loud.... didn't work out. Live (thankfully) and learn (hopefully). How ironic is it that everyone thinks you need a BIG BOAT to handle Lake O, yet the big boats are crashing and capsizing more often than the smaller ones?
  7. Me? Noway. You're the one spending your entire vacation chasing stockers. 😂
  8. About 5 too many when you are trying to get ahold of a spastic White Bass.
  9. If you are fairly close to the bank (which you usually are when fishing) then you don't wanna take it "in the rear"! Taking big wakes from the stern tends to push you hard in the direction the wake is moving and will slam you against the bank, docks, ect. before you can get control of things. If you are on a bluff bank then you can expect the crests to remain the same distance apart. But if you are on a slower tapering bank the crests will get closer together as they get closer to shore. If there isn't enough distance between crests for your boat to fit then that's when stuffing happens. The transom is on top of a wave when the next one comes along and can't shove the bow upwards. A 45° angle shortens your boat, but you have to be at the helm with some power behind you to maintain the angle. If you ever have to drive a giant wake out it is much better to ride the crest than to ride the trough, and try to navigate into open water where the crests get further apart, not towards a bank where they get closer.
  10. Oh the desperation! 🙄
  11. Deliberately fishing a single fly is "fishing". Throwing out a trot-line of flys to drift through the water column is akin to setting a FISH TRAP. I'm a fisherman, not a trapper. I'm in it for the sport. 😊
  12. Just to be different and difficult.....I never fish a dropper. If I was gonna add one I'd add 4 or 6. Why not go ahead and just show them every fly in your box at once?
  13. Sonny's Super Sticky. Bowkers is actually better than Sonny's but it's hard to find. Sonny's is everywhere. I've tried sponges, tubes, and just about every method associated with dip bait but the little ringed worms are the best way to go.
  14. When a big set of rollers are coming at me I point the bow into them and step down off the deck. If they are really REALLY big I'll pull up the TM, fire up the outboard and ride them out at 45° so that one doesn't wash over the bow.
  15. Why does it look like it has a shell around it ? I'm sure it's probaby a good cut of meat but I don't think I want any. Do you eat deer tongue too?
  16. When I take my shades off in the evening my next 10 or so casts will be short. Things look closer than they are without them. It takes an adjustment.
  17. Why can't they just use CFS instead of CFM? If you're looking for a flow induced bite at lower generation then the most likely areas for that to happen would be anywhere the main channel necks down. Just look at your map and head to the skinniest/narrowest (or shallowest) spot, because that's where the most noticable water movement is going to be. I'm not claiming it works, but if it did then that's where it should work the best.
  18. Now that I think about it, an experienced trapper is exactly what I needed. 😄
  19. I hate the stupid things myself. They look ignorant hanging off the boat, they are a pain to work around, and if you touch or even brush against the rods you'll be itching at fiberglass splinters all day.
  20. Well what is it? (Make/model) We have the internet at our fingertips here, we can probably look up a schematic and tell you with 80% certainty why the anti-reverse has failed. Likely a broken spring. If it's a 20.00 reel then scrap it. If it's a 80-120.00+ reel then let's get busy. 😊
  21. If it is channel cat your after, nothing will fill a stringer quicker than Sonny's dip bait. If you don't get a bite in 10 minutes then you are fishing in the wrong spot.
  22. Saweet! I haven't played tug-o-war with a hybrid yet this year. Not seeing many mutts either....but it's early yet. The Whites up this way are busting shad schools every evening from about 5:00 until dark. Caught them until the pain in my elbow was unbearable yesterday. They were still biting when I quit, sat down and cracked open a beer. I had had enough.
  23. Upon further inspection, they WERE fused, and the fuses were blown. But for whatever reason these relay boxes caught fire. No actual problem with the install ...other than the wire routing was very messy. Not really sure now what caused them to flame up, but they sure'nuff did.
  24. This set, and the mount, is for sale CHEAP....if anyone is interested. There's 2 of them.
  25. Don't skip installing the breaker ! 🙄
