  1. Try to keep yours a bit less messy !
  2. Me and my regular fishing buddy have fallen in love with that HS. I'm not sure that I'm gonna give it back. When I imagine the perfect fishing boat for my style of LOZ fishing....That LS205 pretty much hits the nail on the head.
  3. Good God ! I'm in the business and still those prices freak me out.
  4. Because you probably have a 12/24/charge switch at the bow. That's where the other black wire is going. Whether pulling 12v or 24v you are still using the common ground, only the hot wire is being switched. Do away with that 12/24/charge switch, they are nothing but trouble and have been the cause of lots of boat fires. If 12/24 trolling motors are not already extinct they soon will be.
  5. Sounds like they had an exceptional day. The odds of them repeating that performance anytime soon is slim.
  6. 1300-1500.00
  7. Exactly. Nobody minds paying the taxes on their toys, but for Christ sake don't make doing so such a pain in the butt. It's already a rip-off that you have to pay sales tax on USED items anyway. At least let us wet the cuckleburr before we have to swallow it, please! Noooo, we gotta swallow that thing DRY. Masochistic douchebags !
  8. What the hell county do you live in ? Slap a coat of paint on it and title it as HMDE Or WTH..... I'll write you an appraisal on it. How much do you want it to be worth ? Crap like that makes me wanna throw wrenches.
  9. Best thing to do is combine your two hots (red and orange, or red and white) together. Combine your two blacks as well. Install a breaker at the battery(s) and swap out the bow power plug to a two prong set. If it was me I would run 2 batteries parralel, because with that rig you are going to be running on speed 4 and 5 most of the time, and a single battery ain't gonna cut it.
  10. You don't need a machine shop, you just need a I/O mechanic. Odds are (if it ate a rod bearing) that the crankshaft is damaged... So now your in the market for a 3.0 short block.
  11. There's nothing wrong with offering a cheaper alternative in boats and tackle..... Some folks just aren't into it like we here are, but they still wanna fish, and they should be able to for a reasonable price. The only time it's a problem is when guys that truly fish HARD try to go cheap and then they get "disappointed" because they didn't get a 20k boat for 6000.00 Grow up and get real !
  12. ? Oh I'm not knocking them, I've always loved Rangers, but I was sure surprised by the lack of quality during the assembly process of these two boats. The things that are hidden under carpet and behind panels can be a bit disturbing. It's all above 14 laminates of hull material though, so yeah it's a tough boat ! No denying that. And even though the transom on the 393 is spongy.....It ain't going nowhere. It would take a large bulldozer and two fifths of whiskey to actually destroy it. Seriously though, the dude in charge of plumbing during that period of time.....I hope he got fired and couldn't collect unemployment. And I wish the same on the clown with the rivet gun.
  13. I hate to say this out loud, but I have been working on a couple of late '80's - early 90's Rangers lately, and quite frankly I am very unimpressed. One is a big ol' 393 battleship, and other than having a thick heavy hull.....Yuck! Totally not impressed. Soft/soggy transom, Plumbed with garden hose and non-stainless hose clamps? Really? Plain old wood screws and top cap rivets that were never squeezed up tight? Wow. When I say "working on" I mean I have all the deck lids off, fuel tanks removed, plumbing and wiring removed, ect. And yeah, when you begin reverse engineering one of these boats you really get to study how it was put together. I see things here that I'd be embarrassed about if I was a "top of the line" boat builder. Rediculous. My point:. Johnny can't hurt this crap at all ! I have a 1989 Tracker 180FS that is built better than that.
  14. I always wondered where it was in the Wildlife Code that exempted the operators of release boats from the daily possession limit. Is there some special permit that MDC sells that allows you to be in possession of 400+ bass ?
  15. You did a fine job. Everybody was like "Ermergerd! How will we ever fish and float without guages?" Guages are nice, but the lack of them isn't going to keep many of us at home playing Scrabble on the weekends.
  16. Heck yeah! Now we're doing something worthwhile. ??
  17. At this point I'm actually torn on whether I wouldn't rather the fish be kept and eaten. I mean a guy can only have 12 bass in his freezer, right? Then he has to release them immediately or be in conflict with the law.....Until he eats some. The way we are doing things now any single person can relocate over 200 bass per month. And some do !
  18. The Fisheries biologists that told you that are full of beans. If any release boat ever traveled more than 10 miles I'll drink it's bilge water. They only use the release boats to keep fish from piling up at the weigh-in sites. And to save face just in case a bunch of them turn belly up.....Cuz nothing looks worse on tournament organizations than a pickup truck load of dead bass floating around the ramp.
  19. Yeah I'm a bit cranky that so many good quality spawners are being shuffled about. Does no good to throw a fit about it though, cuz they aren't gonna cancel the event because of it. There isn't enough people that give a crap. It used to be that tournament organizations were the #1 advocate for the welfare of a fishery, but not anymore. They pretend to go the extra mile to keep the bass alive....but that's about it. The average fish weighed in during a tournament is out of the water a combined 7-10 minutes. I can only hold my breath for about 50 seconds, and if you plucked me from my cozy little town and dumped me in a different strange one I'd have a hell of a time figuring out how to make a living and where the best grocery store was. And just about the time I had settled into my new digs....Poof! I'd undoubtedly bite the wrong thing and have to go through it all over again. Our beloved green toys get very little respect.
  20. They become a nuisance around here. I'm not sure why, but Hummingbirds are fascinated by outboards running while the cowling is removed. Nothing is more irritating than a critter with a needle sharp beak buzzing in your face when trying to work on something. I'm always afraid they will try to poke me in my beautiful green eyes. ? Horsefly's are attracted to them also, I think because of the noise and spraying water.
  21. Of all the things you WON'T eat ! I reckon this debunks Billethead's theory that you're my daddy. ?
  22. I dig that Charger ! ?
  23. No fuel=no fire....No fire=no heat. Anyway, it would take way more than a 25:1 oil ratio to clog an injector. DFI outboards receive lubrication directly to the cylinders (via ports) and/or directly through the intake manifold, so friction heat isn't an issue. So what did they determine caused your original powerhead to fail ?
