  1. OK thanks. Since 10 bucks a month pretty well covers my flourocarbon habit I guess I'll just wait. Someone will eventually stream all the episodes for free on YT. ?
  2. It is really easy to get a fish to move towards a bait/fly/lure but the closer the fish gets to opening its mouth and eating it the odds of the fish deciding to turn away increases. Several things, aside from looks and even action, can close the deal in your favor. Other fish being nearby helps because the competition factor makes them more careless/greedy, this is why bluegill, crappie, and white bass are so easy to catch (once found)..... because they are never alone. Startling a fish by suddenly putting something seemingly foodlike in its face more often than not will cause a loner fish to bite out of instinct, but a fish all by himself will very rarely chase down a lure and end up biting it unless he is nearing starvation OR the bait looks and acts so real (right down to the last millisecond) that it truly fools him. Realistic paint jobs on crankbaits and ultra lifelike looking flys really don't seal the deal IMO, we may have mastered the "look" but there is obviously more to it than that. Hopefully we never fully figure it all out, cuz if we ever do it will all get very boring very fast. ?
  3. So .99 for the first month.... But I don't see anywhere that is says how much it is afterwards. Any idea?
  4. It's OK, my 7 y/o daughter repeats herself constantly, so I'm used to it.
  5. If you look at the crack it curls in towards the rear on both the upper and lower ends, showing pressure from where the cavity is thicker. That is typical of a freeze break. If I had to guess I'd say that the motor was in a tilted up (trailering) position and that is where the water was after it seperated from the lube. I have seen many cases of impact damage and I've never seen it blow out the sides of the housing without crushing the leading edge badly.
  6. Just to keep it interesting.... I have one just like it WITH TITLE that needs a NLA shift bushing (easily made but not worth my time) so I've decided to part it out. It has a good starter assembly and many other good parts.
  7. Of course there are free clicker counter apps......With memory.
  8. Either you had alot of water in there, or the motor was tilted up for it to split the housing where it did. Where it bursted is where your shift rod goes down (not a critical or high torque area) If it didn't force the bearing carrier outward then that housing can be saved and resealed. I would have to look at it to be sure though. Either way you need to get it torn down and flushed with WD-40 in order to save the shafts, gears, and bearings before they start rusting too bad. Even if you end up replacing the lower unit you have some parts in there worth salvaging....So you can recover some of the expense. The prop shaft, driveshaft, gears, ect. are worth quite a bit on the used market.
  9. It has been kept higher, longer, this year than the previous several years I thought.
  10. No need for a heated dock today. It's beautiful out here !
  11. Hard to prove intent. Determining whether a farmer released them or the hog(s) just managed to escape is going to be tough.
  12. I dust them with salt after they come out of the grease, but suit yourself, there are no rules. ☺
  13. I whip up a few eggs and a splash of beer to dip the fillets in. I make the batter by pulverizing a tube of Ritz crackers, add enough corn meal to give it a yellowish color, a little flour, and some fresh ground black pepper.
  14. Now THAT would be a pair to draw to. ? If you think I'm an asshole....
  15. Picked up a bottle of this for the holidays, it came highly recommended. Anybody know if it's any good? Twas a tad pricey for ME.
  16. Eww, that one went deep into the meat. I bet you said "gosh darn it" and "shucks". Looks like you have gotten your money's worth out of that Wart. Well seasoned.
  17. Good and fair point. I have never said that they do absolutely nothing, and I do enjoy and have benefitted from the things they have done. But for the amount of money they have to work with they are slacking pretty bad on several important fronts, and spending stupidly in other areas that nobody even cares about.....And spending even more attempting to convince us why we should care. All the research and propaganda that went along with Zebra mussels and Didymo for example. Who hunts Grouse (prairie chickens) in Mo.? And what hog farms got reigned in ? Where has gravel mining been stopped ? What trout reg changes have been beneficial ?
  18. Well I pecked it all out, and it was good.....But it failed to load and I lost it. I'm tired of typing. Maybe tomorrow
  19. Your "conversation" is failing at being intelligent just as much if not more than mine is. The only point that you've tried to make is that I'm a moron. My point is that money is being wasted and other more important things (to all of us here) are being shorted because of it. You claim that point is stupid and has no foundation. Show me, if you can.
  20. Right BH, but if the MDC is soooooo busy milking geese then they are absent from other things. The whole CWD thing wreaks of exactly what I described earlier. They pick their own pet projects, they always have, and there is never any outcome to any of it. Meanwhile there are scads of issues that could be addressed and rectified. Results could be seen. Nobody is ever going to benefit from the results of this cwd malarky.
  21. You have this pattern of pretending to fully understand things that you don't. And for some reason you attempt to hide your ignorance by pretending to fully understand, but your just so aloof that it "just isn't worth your time to explain to morons". Your easy to read, dude. STFU My comments, whether factual or factless, shouldn't effect you one iota.
  22. Does anyone? Seems to me that in 1 1/2 days I've jumped right up there with the guys who have been researching it for a decade. I may even be ahead of them. So can we lay them off now? ☺
