  1. How are they sized? Fingerling, Dink, Keeper, Hawg ?
  2. If the goal is to reduce the KY population then why have a length and possession limit at all ? I don't see "food" as being the issue, as there are more than enough shad in these lakes to go around. To be honest I don't even think the 15" length limit on Largemouth is necessary. I believe we would still have the same quality of bass fishing without it. The fishing would be even better if every fish caught that is over 15" didn't get hauled to the opposite end of the lake every weekend. Tournaments are cool....but they are allowing TOO MANY OF THEM if their goal is to balance the fish population and improve the average anglers fishing success. Tournaments bring money to the area and help the local economy (so they claim), but IMO plain old recreational anglers bring way more money to those areas over a years time. The reason Truman fished so much better in it's early days is likely because there hadn't been that many tournaments held there yet. So if you want to see Missouri lakes be the "bass legend" of yesteryear then join in and help fuel the movement of far fewer bass tournaments in the future. You'd be surprised at the number of guys that wouldn't even fish if they didn't think they could make money doing it. Ask an aspiring "pro" when his last fish dinner was. More than likely he'll tell you he doesn't like to eat fish at all. So the argument that IF they weren't hauling them across the lake and releasing them then they'd be keeping and eating them is false.
  3. Warrior, the wait on LO has been like 15-30 minutes according to numerous customers. But I could understand it being an hour. Still.... BH, River X ?..... I bet so. Call and ask them.
  4. Name on boat....Check. Towing service....Noway, TowboatUS is too cheap already, can't beat them (Join today if you haven't already!). Outrageous fees.... Check (kinda). Free info? Oh it might seem free but it isn't..... Y'all have to put up with me all year long in threads that have nothing to do with fixing boats/motors. You've paid up front.
  5. It isn't going to change a thing. The crappie guys don't wanna eat them. The white/hybrid guys don't want them either. And the bass guys hardly ever keep a green fish. Kids at the Campgrounds/Marina's might kill a couple per year.
  6. I dunno, I fished pretty hard all last year and only had one fish over 6. I had a ton of 4+'s throughout the year.... but those are a dime/dozen in the BBB. If I stay here at the shop then good money is pretty much guaranteed, and I don't have to work near as hard for it.
  7. That is just a split ring failure. I detest curly-Q line ties.
  8. I'm not ready to complain because I'm not convinced yet that it is a bad thing. I might start "loosening" them on purpose.
  9. God is going to do it AGAIN ? I don't remember reading that, but I hope he learned a thing or two from the last attempt. What a friggin' nightmare !
  10. Is this gal making any good points, or is she a crackpot ? I can't tell.
  11. Who the heck wants the full field of MLF to be perfect little polite fishing robots ? Adding in personality is a good thing. There has to be a certain number of jackasses in the world or else we would all get bored with life.
  12. How come we never hear about Acid Rain anymore ? Did that stop happening or did we come up with a new name for it ?
  13. War Eagle's have good wire, decent hooks, and nice blades but I have quite a few with loose heads. I can't decide whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, as that wobbling head just might add a little something.
  14. The people in Flint, MI don't have water TODAY. Let's worry about that now, and worry about global warming later....when we don't have more pressing things to conquer. Because the way we're headed we will all be strangled by our own waste long before we succumb to a sweltering planet.
  15. I'll be working.
  16. Since when do any of us have to like each other? That takes the fun out of everything.
  17. OK, what's a crane swivel ? Different from a brass or stainless barrel swivel ?
  18. I intended to play with that on some dock fish last year and never got around to it.
  19. Although I use them (because they come on everything now) I'd like to challenge Ball Bearing Swivels. I think they may be a crock of bull. Especially on Spinnerbaits. Not one bit of difference in how that blade turns when in the water UNLESS your standard swivel is too big. Standard Swivels are more consistent too. One out of every 5 BB Swivels will turn roughly, or become rough after a short while. Yes even Sampo's. Whereas standard barrel swivels become smoother with use.
  20. Oh I'll need spares ! That one should be perfect for fluking hybrids. I could use a dozen....jus' sayin'.
  21. One reaps what he sews.
  22. Adding 5 places is going to seriously increase the number of ties and I would think make the weigh in/scoring process slow to a crawl. In competitive events they always find a way to overly complicate things for no reason.
  23. Abrasion resistance is the only true benefit I can fathom. When using jigs along the rocky bottom, or throwing around cover (especially cables and such) flouro just can't be beat. I don't see the need for braid myself and have no use for it. If you're going to use a flouro leader then just spool the reel with flouro.
  24. Big bulky flys in the wind are nearly impossible even with my 9wt. so on windy days I'll just wait until evening when it lays down a bit. My bass lines live a pretty hard life so I don't go for expensive lines. Cortland 333 Bass taper is pretty tough stuff and its affordable so that's what I throw. It helps if you cut 3-4' off the front end. I'm not gonna rake a 70.00+ line over the crap I usually throw my bass flys. Noway!
  25. Two 1/2oz. Jigs, two 3/8oz. Spinnerbaits, and one buzzbait.
