  1. Yeah, just imagine the gigging busts they could make if they specifically tried.
  2. Well if that is truly so effective, and since they aren't publishing any names anyway.....then why not just report all kinds of faux arrests on facebook and in the papers (in lots of county's) as a mind control deterrent? No fish need die to propagate that.
  3. OK but it would have stopped them before another bass was dead, no ? Since it went THAT far then I wanna see them loose a boat/motor/trailer, and a truck, and do enough jail time that they all 3 get 90 days behind on their mortgage. I know it can be done, hell a guy lost his whole life over a darn Spoonbill.
  4. Wish we knew the names. I'd like to know what their fine amounts to. If the agent was close enough to tell that they gigged a LMB then surely he was close enough to holler at them and tell them to STOP! Instead of letting them kill a BUNCH more fish.
  5. Yep, that's a TOAD. Beats the heck out of sitting in a tree. Was it a shallow fish or was he slow rolling it out deeper?
  6. 54 - 56° today. Cooler than I expected. It was 62° before the rain. It'll be all A-rigs, jerkbaits and grubs before ya know it.
  7. Not bad. The spinnerbait bite was on like DK up here in the brown water. Wish I could have gotten out earlier. You hauling all your keepers back to your dock? I did that for awhile.....they never stick around.
  8. Well it pretty much worked out as planned. Got on the water at 1:30ish and had 3 good ones and a bunch of shorts by 4:00, all on the spinnerbait. Ran down to the cleaner water for awhile and the bite wasn't near as good there. Alot of fish suspended in 10-15' but I'm not sure what they are. Hit a few spots for whites right before dark but no love from them at all today.
  9. I have been playing with some of the hollow bodied swimbaits (Bass Magic, Shadalicous type) and other than targeting fish suspended under docks I really haven't found the right niche for them yet. The dock fish seem to eat a jig, chatterbait, or spinnerbait just as well (or better) mostly because they are reaction strikes. What type of areas are you looking for when throwing your swimbaits ?
  10. Really sorry that you are going through that, bro. Good luck under the knife and hopefully you can hang out with us HERE while you're healing back up.
  11. I was fishing right up here by the MDC access where all the pelicans are hanging out. The green bass bite had gotten incredibly slow just before the rain, but I'll be out trying them tomorrow to see if it has improved any. I'm thinking there will be a few decent ones along the seawalls and in the woody pockets, and a big Spinnerbait will catch them.... but we'll see.
  12. I just caught 7 nice ones in an hour, walking the bank with a 1/4oz. Redeye shad. The white bite should be on fire this week. Go get'em!
  13. I order from Bob Marriot's in CA all the time, they get it here plenty quick. Hell Marriot's is quicker than FEATHER-CRAFT which is right over the hill. TW might be getting too big for their britches.
  14. I like the web-store format and thecway it works, but I've been waiting too long. I ordered last Wed., everything was "in stock" and the UPS truck keeps passing me by everyday. I was hoping to receive it Monday. When I order from BPS or Cabela's it is 3 days max.
  15. Tackle Warehouse is on my S#it list. Sloooooow Shipping ! I'd rather pay the shipping and get my stuff sooner. Seriously, by the time the stuff gets here I won't need it anymore.
  16. Whites can be darn near anywhere. Alot of guys like patterning windy main-lake banks but you can find them on the calm side too, or way up on the shallow mud flats on any given day. My advice to someone that hasn't pinned down any "favorite spots" yet is to start in the very back end of a creek arm and start working your way out. Start with 1/4oz. inline spinners, 1/8oz. 3" grubs, and/or 1/4oz. Lipless cranks.... Then experiment with different baits once you find a school. I can catch more out of each school on a flyrod on clousers and fat-headed streamers than I can on gear usually. I think they get conditioned to hard baits pretty quick.
  17. Wolfe, you can't make sense out of the crap biologists say. It's like reading the bible, totally rediculis but you have to come up with reasons to believe it. This fish kill, and the similar conditions in the past/future that SHOULD cause repeat kills....but don't....are the plan of a higher power that we as mortal humans haven't the reasoning capacity to understand. You believe that, right ?
  18. You're mad because BPS is open ?
  19. Yeah I noticed that they opened the gates on Bagnell and Truman simultaneously. I bet we'll crest a tad over 660 tomorrow. It has been pretty slow for me the last week, but I've only been out for a few hours during the evenings. I hate this getting dark at 5:00 crap.
  20. I've seen that phenomenon. Not as big as 10 acres but at least 2-3 and when it was all over the bank was covered in enough shad to fill the boat with.
  21. Sitting here working up some Spinnerbaits for the big-heads as we speak. It'll be a couple days before the Whites settle in. They don't like debris.
  22. Depending on how soon your upcoming trip is, it may be a waste of time. There will likely be a good run of fish there after this deluge but it won't last very long. I'd say you've got a week or so beginning Wednesday that it will be worthwhile.
  23. If the debris from flooding is the cause then shouldn't all our lakes be suffering from this (to a degree) as well ?
  24. Excellent ! It was great to see Mitch again and to meet a few more fishing buddies. In spite of the fact that so many tournaments are won there that mid-lake area has always treated me like a rotten step-child. So somehow I gotta lure you guys up on this end sometime. I worked it over pretty hard and couldn't really put anything together. Finally caught a decent one within 20 yards of where I launched at, so he was worthy of a selfie. Looking forward to hooking up with you fellas again. Thanks.
