Spend a couple hundo on 8-10 pair and you'll still have a pair handy even if you do loose/break one.

More weight! Summertime fish aren't skittish about baits that drop FAST, and you can feel it better. -
Yeah I'm not anxious for the cold but this is a bit rediculis. Feels good when you're zipping down the lake, but once you stop to fish it gets swampy. There just isn't any air movement. Plenty of moisture in the air though, I haven't had a sunburn even after 5-6 hours in the sun, and the fish are biting good.

Good point! We have a year round season on Bigfoot's. Maybe that's what I'll start calling these CCW guys. "Sasquatch hunters ". You never know when you might see one so you have to be prepared 24/7/365.

I have had a couple pairs of high-end shades but really couldn't tell that much of a difference from my usual 25-30.00 stuff. They scratch just as easily on shirt tails and seem to fly off my hat even easier than lightweight cheapies. I have probably 300.00 invested in shades, but that includes about 15 pair.

I've heard of more rattlesnake sightings during this one season than I have in my whole life combined. My in-laws have had a Scorpion problem at their place for 16 years, but this year the scorpions are mysteriously gone......but now they have rattlesnakes!

Is there any size to the tailwater crappie ? All I ever see down there are thin 8-9 inchers.

16.8 for the old school guy tonite. Left at 4pm and fished until a little after dark...but spent 45 minutes sitting out a storm under a dock.

Not feeling rushed and not having "other things" on your mind is huge for me. If I'm dealing with any kind of real life issue at the time then I typically don't do as well out fishing. We all have LIVES, so I think guys that are capable of shutting out all other thoughts/concerns for the day are usually the best fishermen overall.
