Berkeley Vanish used to break easily in colder water.....But I've heard that they "reformulated" it. Nevertheless I don't buy/use it at all anymore.

A tip-top guide with a minute little crack on the TOP will abrade the line just inches from the bait DURING A CAST ! Easy to do when getting rods in & out of a bass boat rod box. Or when pushing a bait off a snag.

We did some knot testing awhile back, fairly controlled, both here in the shop, and around the swimming pool. The Trilene knot. And the No-Slip Loop knot were the winners.....With a Palamar knot being just as strong.....but was a pain to tie unless tying to a jig, and it sucked if tying to a split-ring. What #test line are you having problems with? And have you inspected your rod guides & tip-top guide ?

Statewide "intensive" water quality tests were done on all Missouri impoundments for several years beginning in 2012. They closed swimming beaches here on Lake O for a few years until the economic effects of doing so began to sting-a-little.....Then they just quit doing the testing, blamed in on "GEESE", and determined the issue was "solved". 😅

If I were one of those guys I think I'd try to break into a bank or something. If I succeeded, I'd be set. If not then I'd have a place to sleep, shower, and get fed daily. Either way I'm better off than I was. And my conscience would be clear because I never physically harmed anyone. Wouldn't being in jail/prison be better than living on the streets in January? Plus, the way jail/prison is NOW you'd likely even get to have sex with the gender of your choice occasionally.

I was born & raised up there. It took 5-6 years to fill up and for the water to stabilize. After that the fishing was great and bullfrogs were everywhere for about 10 years, then it just went downhill. You'd think the lake would be a destination fishery for big bluegill, crappie, bass, walleye, and catfish. But for some reason it seems to lack forage. Even the bullfrogs are gone, which tells me that the insects aren't even doing well.

In this day and age though there are people making a fine living doing nothing but posting daily on YT or Onlyfans. It appears that all you need to sustain yourself is a cell phone and a WiFi connection.

Just as an experiment we should all be thrown out of our homes, removed of our assets and totally abandoned.....Just to see how quickly we can rebound. I like to say that I was once, and it took me 7 months.....but in truth I still had a piece of property to squat on, 1100.00 in the bank, and had people to call that would have helped if I truly became desperate.

I listened to the whole thing, hoping to hear ANYTHING that someone who is NOT a "fisheries biologist" might know. Did YOU pick up on anything? Cuz I sure didn't. The fishery at MT started a downhill slide in the mid-1980's and still hasn't rebounded. They've had a lot of time to figure out why......Still don't seem to have a clue, and don't even want to acknowledge it.

Here lies the problem. The authorities can ENCOURAGE them to move along.....but they can't force them to. If they commit an arrestable crime, and they can be identified, then they can be thrown in jail..... but odds are they have no money, or any close family with money that cares, so what are ya gonna do with them? Feed them, give them a bible, and hold them until their release date.....Then set them free again. I have a solution 💡 MDC should scoop them up, give them fishing poles, and take them TROUT FISHING at the urban ponds. And parade the pics of such humanitarian efforts in the pages of the Conservationist magazine. 👍

First verify that the battery is good. Charge it up, let it sit a couple hours, then do a load test. If it won't hold 10v or more during two 10-second load tests then your battery is either not big enough.....or it's on its last leg.

Those rods, with sliding rings on cork.....How the heck do they keep a reel secure? That just seems like a terrible way to attach a reel. 🤷‍♂️ Worse than electrical tape or tie straps. 🙄

Those "bumps" without hookups are a really good sign. It lets you know that you're at least doing SOMETHING right. 👍

We've probably scared him completely out of the idea by now. Saved him lots of money and frustration. 👍 If not I actually have a pretty decent BRAND NEW 9' 5wt. outfit I'd sell very reasonably. Bought a 5 and a 6 because I wasn't sure which one I wanted......and I've settled on the 6wt.

Nobody can be very familiar, since it appears they just started. Their website sure is overwhelmed with DATA....So somebody in the company is a genuine nerd. Whether any of that garbledeegook results in more fish to hand, is doubtful. Time will tell. 🤔
