  1. I don't GAS one way or the other, but I'm probably gonna be a little more organized and know exactly where every bait I have is at, and what it'll do BEFORE I get to the Classic. There wouldn't be any "dumping out piles of crankbaits" and "eenie-menie-miney-moes" going on. That's just hilarious. Seriously? Oh, well then. That settles that.
  2. That's depressing. I assumed that the sanctioned political area (wherever it is) held that honor. Just wait for the Spey or Roll cast clarification discussion.
  3. Yep that'd be a good'n for the money. ^^^ It does catch fish!
  4. Not sure you can call it "price gouging" since the price is stated up front and you have a choice whether or not to purchase.
  5. I was just wondering if the bait being thrown weighed close to 3/8oz.
  6. I hope it feels better now, to have that off your chest. Because I'm afraid that is the only relief you'll ever get. We are given freedom of speach in order to bitch about things, but no indication that the bitching will ever change anything.
  7. Yep ^^^ I'm normally standing, with one foot on the gunnel. Palm down/reel handle pointing down/ elbow only slightly lower than my shoulder. The hips and the wrist are all that pivot. I'd suck at it (distance-wise) if I was sitting and couldn't use my hips in the process.
  8. Dremel? In the time it would take to dig it out, find and change the bit, put on safety glasses, and plug it in.... I could have the crankbait "tuned" with an emery board.
  9. I take it that a number of you guys throw the wart during more situations than I do. The wart phenomenon is a fairly short window for me, usually beginning as the late Winter-early Spring jerkbait bite falls off, and lasting until the shallow flats begin to produce big fish sometime in April. After that I am pretty much done throwing crankbaits (of any kind) until Late Summer when I break out the DD-22's. On Lake O the crawdads burrow into the shoreline rocks and up under the bases of seawalls sometime during the Early Winter, then during the coldest part of Winter Ameren draws the lake down considerably leaving the sleeping crawdads high and dry. When the ground begins to warm up and we have a few warm NIGHTS the crawdads wake up and make their little 5-30 ft. migration downhil to the waterline, and that's what starts the legendary "wart bite" here. A twin tail grub tossed along the bank will catch the same fish but the wart covers water faster and the fish are obviously hungry enough that finesse isn't required. So why is the wart so much more effective than other crawdad type crankbaits has always been a mystery to me, and why the OLD warts are noticeably better than the new ones is a mystery too. But I sure can't deny it, the old Warts are the bomb.
  10. I don't follow the circuit like I used to. What was the difinitive pattern of the top 3 ?
  11. Is that a stick steer on that Suzuki?
  12. Out of about 10 trips to HHT I hit it right ONCE. Hybrids are incredibly fickle, ya just never know when to go and where to concentrate your efforts. They play by no rules whatsoever. None that I can decipher anyway. The guys that walk/wade the bank seem to do just as well, if not better, than the ones in boats. I'm not sure when the last stocking was either but I suspect it has been quite awhile, so if you do hook up with one it's prolly gonna be a biggun.
  13. Yeah that's sad. I've certainly done my part to help build his empire. I hope the quality of their named products stays good into the future. I've never been disappointed with anything that I ever bought from Cabala's.
  14. I have an Old Town guide 147 that I love for a solo. It's heavy and doesn't track all that well, but it is stable at drift and it's roomy. Probably the best canoe in the world for a guy and a dog. It will get 2 average sized guys down the river, but not very comfortably.
  15. They didn't survey the contours, so what are you saying here? The most accurate contours of LO are the old yellow "structure graphics" maps....which are flawed drastically in areas, but still closer to accurate than anything. There are several areas on this lake that I know like the back of my hand, and I can look at the mapping images and tell you for certain if they are accurate, or even close. Most aren't. I'd be surprised if anyone has done a "new survey" that wasn't just an assumption made by simply continuing the contour patterns out from the surrounding dry land, then adding in what OLD SURVEY material indicates. I understand that is hard to come to grips with after spending hard earned cash on that software .....but I'm afraid that is a fact. Accept it and learn, or deny it and stay ignorant. It's your choice. I'm not saying that the software isn't any good, or that it isn't useful, but it's no better than the old yellow POS maps.
  16. Yeah the ice bergs were on the move today. Watch the bobber go under...
  17. I think it'll take 3/8oz. to win.
  18. I don't believe that is a complete list, as it only mentions minors and people in nursing homes. Exposing yourself to ANYONE can get you on the list, as can helping someone the same age as you out of a swimming pool or into a boat by touching their behind. The days of getting wedgies is gone. Wonder if the statute of limitations would save my brother if I started having wedgie nightmares? LMAO Ya reckon 40 year old wedgies are grandfathered in?
  19. Can't help but wonder why Buster was in the camera boat to begin with.
  20. Sometimes being "convicted" just means that a prosecutor and his cohort local lawyer drained a person of their funds and forced them into a plea agreement. At the rate that the registry is growing it won't be but a few more years until you won't be able to swing a stick without hitting a sex offender. Sadly the "system" has gotten a little carried away and the registry is losing its meaning and purpose.
  21. That's a good slogan for Makers Mark.... "Standing is Overrated"
  22. Pitching is flat out impossible while sitting down, unless what you call "pitching" is something other than what I call pitching.
  23. As a representative or senator, which would be more likely to sway you; A large number of correspondence opposing a bill with only the words "please don't do it" ? Or... Long winded articles written by self proclaimed intellectuals describing reasons why they shouldn't ? And....Do you really think anyone with the capacity to decide anything reads such correspondence either way?
  24. Exactly. Trophy, they're coming and going fast. 1636, 1648, or 1448 ? I'm getting 5 new Lowe hulls in June (maybe late May). Mixed sizes/styles (but can't get Roughnecks). I can make it 6 and take you out bass buggin' when you come to pick it up I haven't anchored a deal on trailers yet though, still working on that. Got a decent trailer connection down there?
