  1. Y'all are killin' me with all this kinda talk. I hope we get some big rain events this Spring.
  2. They must not be, because I don't know of a single person making a decent living giving them.
  3. Just wanted to capture that quote for future points
  4. There's never been any probate court deciding who got what after any death in my family. If whatshisface's mom had died in a car crash a week earlier I'm sure the guns would have been his and/or his brothers. Right along with the house, cars, and cooking utensils. And yeah I agree, a person convicted of writing multiple bad checks can be a felon.... yet they obviously drew their own personal line at robbing at gunpoint for money. They could have done way worse than write a bad check if they needed money....but obviously they didn't. So after their debt to society is paid they should not be restricted from owning a firearm IMO.
  5. Dictating who can or cannot possess a firearm is pointless. After Adam Lanza's mom was dead WHO owned the guns? Adam Lanza did. When someone who is "perfectly sane and authorized to possess guns" passes away, which government entity is gonna swoop in and decide what happens to their gun collection? You either have to allow firearms or not, period. The whole BS of this guy can... but that guy can't is just flippin' insane.
  6. This is bullspit! Maybe if some of these "accidents" were charged as unlawful use of a firearm people would take a second to BE SURE that a gun isn't loaded, or that all guns are treated like they are at all times like you're supposed to. None of the CCW incidents (accidental discharge) go on record because they are all considered accidents. That is wrong. To shoot someone whether intentional or not should be a crime and the details sorted out in court, regardless of the circumstances. Drunk driving fatalities and drug addiction/overdose are "accidents" too, if you choose to look at it THAT way.
  7. You can also cut the collars off with a pair of side cutters.
  8. There remains a slight misconception about which streams produce and can maintain better sized smallies. The mass of the studying, monitoring, and overall attention is (can I say... wasted) on pretty clear water streams where nobody has to step in gooey ol'mud. Ya know, streams that look like trout water and would be if the water was just a tad bit cooler during the Summer. I see/catch smaller average Smallmouth in the "Ozarks" as a full grown experienced and well geared angler than I did as a kid just a few miles further North in streams/rivers that aren't even considered Smallmouth water by most everyone that is hung up on this whole "Ozark stream" atmosphere thing. Big smallies do live in pretty places.... but if you ever stray a bit past that "Ozark" line you might find out that a place suddenly gets alot prettier after a few fat and healthy smallies are caught there. Ya know .... that part of Missouri where the only thing that gets gigged is bullfrogs.
  9. Considering your location, travel time, and what the extended forcast looks like....I'd do Thomas Hill for hybrids.
  10. The shoals are really thin now and you can run up on one real quick like. There was probably 3+' more water when you saw the ski boats, or the folks running them knee their way around and were happy being confined to one little stretch.
  11. The spot/LM fishing is good, but you're gonna need a lighter boat.
  12. Sounds like y'all are doing more boat riding than fishing.
  13. I've been told 70.00 but again....never heard of anyone having to pay it.
  14. Does anyone know anyone that has ever been fined? Just curious what the charge was called. Whenever I'm down there it seems that I am the only one paying any attention to those lines.
  15. I haven't done much F'nF but I would think a slip bobber rig would be better, no?
  16. http://www.nationalrivers.org/states/mo-law.htm http://www.mostreamteam.org/ http://www.lmvp.org/kayakswarm/PaddlersGuide/index.html http://www.missouricanoe.org/map.html
  17. Hog, spend a few hours down there, look around, breath the mist.... and you'll understand why nobody talks about it. Take hand sanitizer.
  18. Never. That's a buncha false flag marketing BS Can't argue with the "quiet" advantage, but the fuel difference throughout a typical day of fishing could be held in your coffee cup.
  19. What he said ^^
  20. Now there's a bit of a contradiction That will make someone a fine little outboard.
  21. So you think my assumptions are less accurate than the ones printed in the news story?
  22. Well ! I can tell ya one thing for certain; An incident like this would never happen on MY watch because hiking 16 miles to a place that can easily be driven to in the car is beneath MY level of intellect and reasoning. And I wpuld hope that a USAF veteran/ Dept. of Defense guy is considerably smarter than ME. Heading out like that with two 100+ lb. Kids and a dog of whom I would be solely responsible for ???? Hell, something as common and likely as a twisted ankle and you've got major problems. How far can you carry a 10 year old while encouraging the 8 y/o to keep up and keep the dog corraled...yet still expect to get home before dark? Puleeeze! When you stop to think about it and put yourself in his (Dads) shoes you really gotta wonder if the real reason they headed out in the first place had NOTHING to do with an "enjoyable hike". More likely than not it was to escape a (typical family vacation style) ongoing verbal assault from you know who. "He's been known to hunker down and wait out storms" she says. Uhhhh hu, I bet he has. Poor basturd. LOL
  23. Man, this is really tough. I have a great crab story, but if I tell mine everyone else is gonna tell theirs.....and I REALLY don't wanna initiate that. LMAO
  24. L.MAO! I caught that....it went "sShooom"! But I caught it
  25. Dying in the $#itter..... now that would suck.
