Crappie are for people that don't like to eat fish. Hands down the most tasteless piece of meat on the planet. Is there even any protein in a crappie fillet? And hands down the most boring fish to pursue. The best lure is a near motionless jig, they don't jump..... and they don't even really fight. I'll never understand guys that choose Crappie as their favorite fish to catch....and chase them year 'round. I'd rather bounce a soup can around the yard all day with a Red Ryder BB gun. 🙄

Well I've never been there. Please fill me in on what's worthwhile. We'll be fly-fishing, and I'd just as soon throw bass bugs for largemouth. I had just read that the white bass population was pretty good, but if not we can certainly switch gears. Big bluegill would be fine too. Crappie would be our last resort.

I gotcha, I just always wonder what the science is behind some of the "new" hooks I see guys using on crappie jigs these days. In all my years I've yet to have a day where getting crappie stuck, and in the boat, with regular old hooks was a problem. "Tick....Crank 'em in". That's always been the way crappie fishing goes where I've fish for them. Regardless of how plain, dull, and rusty the hook was on the jighead. 😅 -

Those look sweet! I hate that hook though 🤔 What's supposed to be the benefit of that crazy thing? I can invision a crappie trying to suck it in....and not being able to. -
It's my understanding that neither rod company produced their own blanks. Their blanks came from the same place that Quantum, Shimano, Cabela Fish Eagle, Lew's and a few other companies blanks come from. Falcon and All Star blanks are (or WERE 10+ years ago) from an identical list of blank grades from the same supplier overseas. Are you telling me that you've been to their facility and actually observed them wrapping graphite onto mandrels ?

Falcon and All Star rods use the exact same blanks. So if you like a certain blank but aren't crazy about the handle or reel seat.....Check the other makers line of offerings.

I'm scared of pellet grills now. Our Pit Boss went KA-BOOM 💥 on the front porch and I'm lucky it didn't catch the vinyl siding on fire. It's back to charcoal for this residence. I looked it up on YT and apparently it isn't all that rare of a happening. The thought that everybody has them right next to their house.....is kinda frightening.

That's a possibility, we'll see how it goes. In looking at the forecast I can already tell that nothing is getting done around here on Tues.-Wed.- Thur. Only need about 6 hours of reasonable weather (45°+) to finish it up I think.

Can't confirm just yet. I have to get the @Woodland Artisan barge done before I can escape the compound. And also, you need to choose a tutu color. You keep omitting that, and it is a definite perquisite for this shinanigan.

You wanna enter into a trout derby against me? And you're limited to throwing gear? I mean, if you want to.....sure 👍 I'll do it for the cost of overnight travel expenses, plus one nice dinner. And if I win you have to wear a tutu to a fine restaurant that evening. Taneycomo, cuz I ain't buying a AR fishing license this year. I already have to buy a KS one. Where are we bedding down, and what color tutu would you like, so I can pack it in the truck ? Pink/white Black/orange or Rainbow ?

I'm not looking to win any tournaments, I just like to have fun. Slinging gear gets kinda hum-drum when you live on a lake and can go pretty much anytime ya want. But then again...... I'm up for a little contest if ya want. 😊

Sugarbritches is chillin' in Branson with her gal pals. It's just me, 2 of the kids and Orion, until sometime tomorrow evening. Except for all the rabbit fur blowing around we've kept the place fairly tidy. I'm quite proud of us. I'm on a Double Bunny kick
