  1. No the Gravois Mills public access, right off 5 hwy.
  2. I'm up for it pretty much any evening, with some notice. I'm right by the Gravois access.
  3. Yep, me too. Basil Bacon MC'd the weigh-in. I placed 13th. Had a terrible 2nd day. My boat wouldn't make it to Windsor in that wind and waves without getting busted up. Luckily I had just become a new Daddy, and that forced me to examine my finances more closely. Qualified for the regional....but chose not to go because there was nothing to hope for. A spot in the Classic? Yeah right🙄 GTFOH!
  4. Used to shoot an indoor league. My first RH was pretty exciting, but after that it got expensive and pissed me off. 😅
  5. I do. That was the B.A.S.S. federation publication. I was a federation angler from '94-'96. Talk about a "money pit" 🙄 That scam shoulda been illegal.
  6. Awesome! I hope y'all stroke'em. 👍
  7. I just got one, just like it, given to me (prop of course). Plan to completely restore it over the winter. All parts easily available.....all the way down to the cowling decals. Love that company 🤗
  8. Plenty of folks still keeping 40+ year old Johnson/Evinrude's alive. No problem. Profits are still being made all around. And if I owned an outboard manufacturing company.....I'd be darn proud to see my 40+ year old motors still in service. Mercury, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Nissan.....well, they apparently just don't see it that way.
  9. Don't know. But if Yamaha has started playing the same shitty game that Mercury does....then they just want all of their previous motors to die and go away, assuming that you'll be forced to buy one of their new ones.
  10. The values of what? The parts prices I listed? I promise you that anyone needing any of the mentioned parts to keep a motor alive will pay those prices.
  11. Not so fast there. Just had a 1989 Yamaha 90 brought in with a bad CDI module. Motor is in great shape top to bottom, clean as a whistle, but the only replacement CDI module available is a used one on eBay for 760.00 Yamaha no longer will sell them and there's no aftermarket. What a shame! 🙄
  12. Cool Jon boat. Is that a Ouichita?
  13. No, it's worth more parted out. Too many NLA parts. The used lower unit is worth 250.00 The used tiller handle assembly is worth 200.00 The recoil starter assembly is worth 150.00 The remains are worth 25.00 at a recycling center. Take that 625.00 and put it towards something else.
  14. That makes me jealous. I paid for one once and never even got so much as a kiss from the chick. Had to keep my best buddy from getting lynched. The Trump's might have friends that they love too.
  15. A bad voltage regulator will boil a battery dry.
  16. Manual over-charging, or continuously trying to charge a battery that has reached its limit and will accept no further charge....is what causes low liquid level in the battery. Just so you know. So yeah, if your battery keeps needing to be topped off, then it is time for a new battery.
  17. That wasn't a "guide", that was a fisherman that somebody hooked up with a guide trip. A guide will fish just enough to give you confidence that there are fish there, and a brief tutorial on how he catches them. Then he should put down his rod and keep you in a good position to rape the hole. Of course you knew all that, so I'm preaching to the choir. 😅
  18. You've got time. Work up to it. Get out tomorrow, and the next day.....then take a day off. Then go again. It doesn't have to be scouting/hunting, just go for a walk or whatever. If you get tired sit down for a minute or two. It isn't a race.
  19. Lot of good stuff there. I'm almost scared to ask.....but what's the price on the whole shebang? Vise, materials, all of it?
  20. Well, everybody was throwing buzzbaits and topwater stuff that day. Obviously it made a difference. A buddy and I have been debating light quiet buzzbaits vs. heavy noisy ones for quite awhile. Ya know, when to throw which....and whether or not it matters? I'm all about the noisy squeaking bangers if I'm going to throw a buzzbait. If they want something more subtle I'll offer them a frog or a spook. It's hard to tell who's right and who's wrong.
  21. Wackerman, Jack!!! That was the younger guys name.
  22. Wackerman, Jack!!! That was the younger guys name.
  23. Hmmm, may have mis-spoke, I don't recall him having only one arm. That name though..... I'm almost certain that he used to come into the bait shops here on the west side of Lake O with a younger guy....whose name I have been racking my brain over for an hour. They were selling those buzzbaits that I sent you a pic of, and pimping Walen rods with the spiral wrapped guides.
  24. Right on. Well is it a noisy squeaky clacker, or a lightweight sputterer? If you'd rather not disclose that, then just tell us what rod length and line size you throw it on. 😊 I actually remember Rod, he was involved with Walen rods back in the day. I think I have a handful of those 1/2oz. twin bladed straight runners.....if that's the one. 😊
  25. Having a God to attribute unexplainable things to can be dangerous. Numerous parents have slaughtered their children because they "believed" the thoughts they were having were coming from God. Had they not had the God delusion in their head then they may have seeked help with their mental health, or just distanced themselves from the children for a bit.
