  1. No need, if the fish could just be immediately scored and released.....And they could.....at far less of a cost than a release boat. "The problem here, General, is that our troop is infected with stupidity of which there seems to be no cure."
  2. In over 35 years of bass fishing I have never seen a release boat travel more than 5-6 miles to release the fish (yeah I've followed them). More often it has been only 2-3 miles. Long all day pontoon boat rides are definitely not the norm.
  3. What kind of permit does a person, not employed by any Fish&Game commission, need to haul 600 bass around, across land or whatever? Who issues those permits, and what does the permit co$t ? Does the permit allow you to do it whenever/wherever/all year long, or is it only for a specific date? Is the permit good for hauling any specie of regulated wildlife or does it only apply to Bass after a bass tournament ?
  4. Welcome to the church group. 🙄 Didn't Adam name them? Or did he just call them all "fish" and then WE took that one to the basement?
  5. Swimming? In a creek in early April? Well...... I'm all for birth control.
  6. Yep, and don't waste your time tying or fishing a Snail fly. Been there/done that/doesn't work. 🙄
  7. True. When you WANT one to sink the SOB won't go down for ----.
  8. I don't want it littering up my property. If it isn't gone by Monday it just might be turned into a crappie bed.
  9. No, it has an Evinrude on the FRONT.
  10. I might have a really good deal on a trailer for ya after Monday. If the guy doesn't come and get this 18' Charger boat off my property by the first of the week then all you have to do is come and get it, and get rid of the boat. You can modify the trailer however you want and have it titled as HOMEMADE.
  11. No it's a pic from last year about this time. I haven't hardly done any fishing yet this year. Soon as it thawed I immediately got swamped with work. I'm almost caught up though so that's about to change.
  12. When I catch a 12 incher on a Red-eye Shad I'm afraid to stick my hand in his mouth.
  13. I was that kid once. ☠️
  14. Glad you came up and had some fun, Bill. Come more often, and stay longer. Maybe make it way up the Gravois one day? 😊
  15. This dude looks like he could yank on an outboard long enough to freak a dog out. "The Brunswick Corporation promoted Christopher Drees, the former president of marine parts and accessories, to president of the company. Drees replaces John Pfeifer who chose to leave the company to pursue other opportunities." The guy once in charge of PARTS is now president of the whole company. I rest my case. 🤣
  16. 😁 In the mid 70's we had a 16' Ouachita Jon with a Merc 200 (20hp). It was a hard starting SOB and my grandpa had this hyperactive border collie type dog, named Carl, that when he went to jerking on and cussing that motor the dog would think he was fighting with it and lose his ever-lovin' mind. He'd yank on the motor 4-5 times....then kick and cuss the dog. Over and over until finally it came to life. Dad got tired of the engine starting ordeal and had a steering console installed and a brand new Johnson 35 electric start. Man was she a sweetheart....and that sucker would flat SCOOT! Carl lived a much happier life after that.
  17. They're popping out around here too. Neighbor had a hat 1/2 full of them 2 days ago.
  18. I "advised you" not to buy it in the first place. 🙄 But since you did anyway then my SUPERCEDED ADVICE (since we're playing the Mercury game here) is to run it until it no longer makes you glad to have it, and then scrap it and get another motor. It isn't worth any more with warranty than it will be afterwards. And who knows, it might serve you just fine for quite a few more years. Some do. Etec:s don't 100% guarantee zero troubles...if they did I'd be living in a van down by the river. But even though there are far fewer Evinrude dealers around here than there are Merc dealers you can always get an Evinrude fixed up quicker and cheaper. Even the old dogs made back when you were in diapers. 😎
  19. You mean you never shared a Sucker with him his whole life until he was grown up and out on his own? What kinda father were you? 😅
  20. It's pretty, but I hold the rod with either 3 or all 4 fingers in front of the reel stem, depending on the balance of the rig. Ergonomics would demand a very heavy reel in that case.
  21. Careful ! Don't trip over that innuendo. 😂 Dropped that nearly invisible SOB right in your path!
  22. I'm gonna pull the plug on Optimax's, effective this year. I like happy customers and after unending study and assumed successful repairs I have determined that I can't keep Optimax owners happy and know beyond a shadow of doubt that the engine will run a full day+ after leaving my shop. Continuing to attempt fixing the unfixable will do nothing but ruin my reputation and cause people to not trust me. It's a poorly designed engine in the aspect that it is impossible for me, or anybody else, to properly diagnose 80% of the time, and then when I DO FINALLY figure it out (or THINK I have it figured out)....parts are either unavailable or rediculously priced. So other than regular service that is unrelated to the fuel/air/oil injection systems, folks are just gonna have to take them to their favorite Mercury dealer so they can cuss and be disappointed at THEM instead of ME. I have enough "good motors" to work on that I don't have to work on those impossible pieces of crap if I don't want to..... And I don't want to. I'm not just picking on Mercury either, Yamaha HPDI's are getting kicked to the curb also. 😋
  23. Your leak may be a cracked fuel cooler (pretty common). You'll have to remove the lower cowling to access the bottom of the fuel/air rail, so you'll find out when you get there. Be sure to de-pressurize the system before pulling that fitting from the fuel rail (if you do it).... or you might get hurt.
